general Where is all those users in the past?

It makes me wonder where did all those users of the forum went. Because in a post i wrote someone replied that there are so many users you can even see the end of schooltime in different time zone all over the world. So why does such popularity ends with forty thousand user now? Where are those guys and where's all those posts sent before? Did the poniverse server deleted its data?

I actually knew a lot of people from the OLD days and they just grew out of coming here or came to live a different life.... (or won't really THAT big of a mlp fan as they said they wwere? LOL BUT im still here if that counts! as for the data THEIR post are still there just gotta find them.

They probably leave for various reasons. Lose interest in the show or just the fandom itself. They forget about the website or lose interest in it. I imagine a lot of it is the former, losing interest in the show. The fandom has died down a lot compared to the 2010s.

It's surprising to see some really long-time members fading out of the picture. I thought many of them would be here forever, but I guess priorities change and so on. It's sad to see some of them go; lots of fun ponies.

I dunno, I've only been here a few months myself, but I guess it's just the natural course of most fandoms. There was a huge boom in popularity in the years that G4 was airing, but once the show ended it just sort of began to fizzle out. I'm sure a lot of the old users who left still have a soft spot for MLP, but they might've just grown out of posting consistently. It makes me a bit sad that I missed it. I would love to be part of a popular and booming pony community where everyone's always chatting and befriending each other, I think I could even look past some of the more toxic discourse, but sometimes things just naturally slow down a bit. Maybe G6 will bring some new fans? Or at least bring back some curious G4 fans who became inactive?

People come and go. They get busy or move on to other interests.  I'm sure there will be a time I stop using this site for good and move on to something else.

Coming back to this place after several years really was a big reality check that not everything... or friendships, last forever. Saw a few familiar faces, some gone for good, others stopping by here and there. It almost feels like that one friend you made on Minecraft who promised to play again next week (and they proceed to disappear off the internet).

I suppose everyone moved on at some point or another and pursued other interests, especially when G4 concluded. Whatever happens, moments like these will always remain memorable to us when looking back.
