Would The Legend of Everfree have been a better film, if it were set around Nightmare Night?

So Summer vacations are nice. But they aren't exactly exciting. Legend of Everfree may have been a bit too chill to have much suspense. The whodunnit mystery about the closure of the camp was more an inconvenience than a serious problem. But maybe a change in aesthetic could've fixed that. Because what typically happens around campfires? Ghost stories.

So it's not too much of a leap to make Legend of Everfree not take place in the Summer, but in the Autumn. Specifically around Nightmare Night. The Legend of Everfree story would carry more weight. The mystery would feel a little more sinister. There would be strange happenings freaking the camp goers out more. And SciTwi being haunted by a ghost of her past ties everything together. Plus, y'know, the HuMane 7 in cute costumes.

So you think switching up Legend of Everfree to be a Halloween special would've helped keep the movie from feeling like the weakest of the EQG full length films?

Plus, a lot of horror movies do take place in the woods. :sealed:

Also, I think the zombie students from the first Equestria Girls movie were a lot scarier visually than whatever Gloriosa Daisy was doing. :confused:

I think it would have made for a good Halloween movie, though I like it mostly the way as is. I probably could have done without the fashion show, but it's still probably my second favorite of the four

The title of the movie was misleading... To those who were familiar with MLP FiM. 'Legend of Everfree' to said audience would mean a reference to the Everfree Forest, and from there, they would conclude that this was going to be about something scary. As for everyone else, they were none the wiser and were just expecting another EQG film. Would I call it a missed opportunity to not go with a Nightmare Night them instead of what it actually was? Yes, but you do have to appreciate what 'Legend of Everfree' tried to do in terms of expanding the lore.

A shame the comics never acted on Nightmare Night regarding EQG. Then again, EQG barely had any comics compared with MLP FiM.
