[Request] Singers for Pony-based songs

Just yesterday I created a thread for lyrics to songs I would never be able to compose for. Consider this thread a foot in my mouth.

 

TL;DR: Amateur song writer and maker looking for a talented singer or two; musics at bottom of post.

 

I've been trying to write pony musics for awhile now, but have always been unhappy with my compositions. This left me morose and without the will to even try making music anymore. But yesterday I finally decided that damnit, I like making music, I want to make pony music, and nothing as silly as a lack of talent is going to stop me!

 

Over the scant course of two days, I'd written and slammed together accompanying music for two songs. One is a song who's lyrics I literally thought up while more than half-asleep, and the other is a very loose cover of a garage band's song that no one outside of Florida will have ever heard of... ponified, of course.

 

I've managed to get this far on my own, but what I have still isn't presentable due to a road block: my voice. I... am not a good singer. Sure, I try, but I'm just not cut out for it. Neither is my laptop-locked microphone, ugh. But hey, there are tons of talented members in this community! I'm sure someone would like to give one of my songs a shot!

 

So here are the two three FOUR songs I've got so far for this EP or whatever I'm making. Since this is a thread requesting singers, I've had to put you through the pain of hearing me sing the songs... sorry, sorry. But I didn't know if anyone would be able to figure out how the basic melody of the lyrics go otherwise. That said, if choose to sing one of these songs, feel free to sing it however you like! Don't follow my example, unless you think it will work for your performance. And if the lyrics aren't to your liking, feel free to change them up a bit to fit your preferences and/or singing style.

Note: There are some issues with this song musically that I'm not sure I will be able to fix, but I'm working on it. Also, this song is pretty baron and weird sounding, lyrics-wise. That's the way the original track was, and I tried to imitate it while changing the subject matter. But if you think of anything new to add to the song, go right ahead!

Big news!

 

On a forum for musicians that I go to, I found someone extremely talented who has expressed interest in both recording vocals AND guitar parts for the song "I Became a Monster". His name is HatchetRocker, and you can find a samples of his work right here: Missing You, and Convenience Store.

 

To everyone here that has expressed desire to record vocals for the song, I'm still interested in hearing what you come up with! There's more than enough room for more than one vocal version of this song, and all the different vocal takes on the song would be a joy to hear.

 

Edit: Added another sample of Hatchet's work; the mastered version of Missing You went up just a couple minutes ago, and it is amazing.

That'd be awesome! I didn't care what gender the person who wanted to sing was, but a vocal of the song that sounds like it was sang by Fluttershy would be amazing!

Okay, I got one performance in so far, from Hatchetrocker.

Once I got over the initial confusion over the vocal direction he took, I was pretty happy with his performance. Trying to see if I can get a second take to fix an issue at the 1:40 mark where the voice dips, and also to see if a new guitar solo could be added.

 

To everyone else here, I'm still interested in hearing everyone else's takes! Hearing hatchet's version really opened my eyes to just how many directions this song can go due to vocals alone. Please save your recordings twice; once with the instrumental behind it, and once by itself with only your voice.

Heh, that's okay. Thank you for the attempt, though.

 

So everyone else, I'm still looking for singers for "Yay" and "I Became a Monster". Especially "Yay", since I have at least one person confirmed for "Monster" who sang a first take and is going to sing a second take.

 

An electric guitar solo and some slight mix-work are also going to be added to "Monster", but this will be done after vocals have been recorded and not prior (this is easier for the guy who will be providing these services).

 

Lastly, I have a third song where singers are needed, this one based on Lyra Heartstrings. The instrumental would be done, if it weren't for some odd popping and clicking issues that I am going to have a friend of mine look into. I'll have that up before not too long, hopefully.

Alright, I've got a working demo of "Lyra" done, and I managed to find time to sing over it. Links to the instrumental, test vocal, and lyrics can now be found in the first post of the thread.

 

Still working on the Trixie song, but it will take quite awhile at this rate.

Also, I should point out by "finished" I mean "unmastered version finished". All I've done for the tracks so far, other than composing them and writing them, is some very basic sound balancing. Once vocals are recorded by a skilled other (as seperate files, I should stress), I will be sending the tracks to a friend of mine who knows how to master better than I do.
