Movie rental places

Does anypony remember movie rental places? If so, which one was your favorite?

There was one that I would frequent every Sunday from between 1995 and 2000 known as Canyon Meadows Video. I never rented movies from them but rather video games for 24 hours (Renting on Sunday meant returning them the next day which was Monday) and only on a couple of occasion did I fail to return the game on time. Unfortunately, the store was robbed of much of its inventory sometime in 2000 and never recovered from it. This resulted in the store closing down for good which was a real blow.

In southern Georgia and the good ol' 90s, Video Warehouse and Hollywood Video were these places.  The latter had some season 2 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers videos

I love movie rental places… we always went to blockbuster or Hollywood videos… I think I like Hollywood videos modes cause they had more movies that I liked….

I remember this Blockbuster I used to go to and it had these big pictures of movie characters on the walls and one of them was Tommy Pickles from Rugrats. I know that he’s technically not a movie character, but still.

I remember Blockbuster and Hollywood, as far as chain businesses go, and lots of smaller, independent ones. I like the more obscure ones because they specialized in unusual and rare titles, but I don’t remember what they were called anymore. It’s been a long time.

West Coast and Suncoast were great mostly because they had tons of movie collectibles and toys as well as movies.

Was almost always Blockbuster.

 

Didya know there’s one left? It’s in Bend, Oregon and is mostly just a tourist destination with a lot of memorabilia. I don’t know if there’s actually any video/movie stuff there anymore though, reportedly.
