For me it's Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

Something about the minimalistic design always stood out to me. Nothing complicated, you know exactly what you're getting right away, without trying to be all flashy

For a more modern example, Breath of the Wild

And typically any Metal Gear game that features Yoji Shinkawa's artwork

All from a company that never got long-term dominance against Nintendo or Sony.  It's not Star Wars:  The Old Republic (2011) or anything of Star Wars in general.  But pop this into a Dreamcast, power on, you know you've entered something different from the Sonic you're used to.  But incredible all the same.
