Looking for Game Makers

I have these great ideas for making a game and since gaming is one of my faforite hobby's, i want to make a game. I myself do not have any experience in making games.

I am looking for people who have the knowledge of 3D-modeling, game programmer and someone to help me with the story. Who's in?

Oh and my idea was to make a zombie fighting game, you know, fight against zombies. oh and some bosses.

If it involves zombies then I'll pass. There are way to many games about zombies, the world doesn't need another one. Additionally, you may want to start small and if you like gaming and want to make games, then maybe pick up one of the skills that are needed to make a game.

The reason I say that you should start smaller is because, from your post, it does not seem like you know what it actually takes to make a game. This isn't your fault, as you said, you haven't made a game before. The simple cure for this is to start making games. I would suggest a 2D platform or puzzle game.

Be sure to record your idea in a journal though so that you have those ideas when you are actually prepared to make the game you are describing.

For making your own games I would suggest you start with an engine like Gamemaker. It is by far the best 2D engine I've ever seen and it can make any simple game, and most complex games, that you can think of as long as it is 2D. Once you've made a few games in gamemaker then I would suggest "graduating" too a 3D engine since that seems to be your goal. For 3D I would suggest Unity. It's basically like the Unreal engine, but without the ultra complex things that you probably won't need for most projects. Both engines (gamemaker and Unity) have great documentation so material to learn with won't be hard to find.

That is the engine path of game making. You could always start from scratch by learning a language like C++ or Java both of which have been around long enough to also have great documentation.

If coding isn't really your thing then maybe you want to try the art side of things. It's up to you what style you want to use, but most 2D games I see are either hand drawn in Photoshop or are made pixel by pixel as pixel art. For the first I recommend Photoshop or Gimp for the later I recommend Paint.net

Good luck and be sure to write down your idea so you don't forget it.

Bohtty makes a good point, if you're interested in making games starting small is the best way to go.

I can tell you from experience that he is right, the first games I programmer were a snake-like arcade game and 3d tic-tac-toe game with rather simple AI.

If you do want to continue making this however you'll need to find a quite a few people who are experienced to bring it together.

I could help with gameplay programming and possibly AI.

Also could you post more about your idea?

I'd like to thank the MLP Vector Club for the images used in my avatar.

Known as "Princess Mi Amore Cadenza", "Trixie the Great", "Tom" and "Tomzoid the EggDroid".

well i have great ideas and it doesn't have to be a zombie game but i have some awesome ideas for monsters to defeat. I could make levels with regular humans and there are like scientists who create these crazy strong monsters witch could be the bosses. i will try to draw some of my ideas witch aren't all zombies a lot of them are just horrible monsters. maybe no human soldiers to fight against maybe just monsters to fight against.
