And I know for a fact, that without an artifact of power to help a newbie such as yourself, or a mentor to teach a newbie such as yourself, there could be no way you could have cast such a dangerous spell. So let me ask you," Blaze said horn and eyes glowing ever so slightly "Where did you learn that spell" Blazed asked vehemently.

Trixie's emotions were played by both Thunder and Blaze. A feeling of fear and compassion. Carrick look at her eyes as the looked down on the floor. He could that she was about to spill the beans. Her sweat enmanting from her forehead and irregular breathing could tell that she was nervous. Time slowed down for Trixie. If she was going to say it, it could be trouble for her. Even more than now. She took glances at Thunder and Blaze both to wait for her response.

 

She began to laugh. "You are indeed a valiant foe, Carrick Murphy. You use Trixie's emotions against her. However,Trixie is not that dumb." Trixie gave a glare at Thunder.

 

"Trixie will NOT answer your question. That is Trixie's right. So unless you have other questions, than Trixie can leave."

 

Damn it! We are so close. "That isn't true, that is obstruction of justice." Carrick countered

 

"Don't play me as a foal, Mr. Murphy. Trixie is not under oath.Trixie is here on her own regard. So do you have other question that Trixie can attend to or can Trixie leave now?"

 

I can't lose this now, this could... this IS a major point . No one would just hide something like this. Somepony would be proud to tell them how they just learn a spell that powerful. No one would lie about that for a reason. I need to push!

 

"Why do you continue to hide this? Are you trying to help somepony be hidden?" Carrick went for the push.

 

Trixie did not budge, she gave an annoyed look at the detective. "Trixie will not answer your question. It seem to Trixie that you have no more questions to ask Trixie." Trixie turned around. "Trixie bids you all goodbye." Trixie started to walk.

 

Carrick needed to think fast. This will all be over. Carrick quickly skim the notes that had been on his notepad. Each and every detail from the investigation. The Two S-Class magic spells. One of the magic spells that was use upon Spike. A book: Psychology 101. Twilight's odd behavior. The note and vile. The....reading...wait a second!

 

"I begin where all things end" As the word slipped the tongue of the detective. Trixie's eyes shrank.

 

"W-what did you just say?" Trixie turned back to Carrick.

 

"I begin...where all things end." Carrick repeated again, a small smile came upon his face. Gotcha!

 

"Where did you see that?"

 

"I saw that on Twilight's house and from the look on your face it means the powerful Trixie might know something of the phase, right?"

 

"I-i-i know nothing of the sort" Trixie's voice and use of the first person(or first pony) could tell that she knew.

 

"I think you do and see. I believe that I knew who it was....it was the mentor who had helped you learn that spell of yours."

 

"W-what are you talking about?! These are just baseless! Baseless!"

 

"Maybe they are but, what if baseless statement have some truth to them? See, if I am telling the truth, than the problem about that is it will affect you, big time."

 

"What?!"

 

"I thought you were the Powerful and Great Trixie, don't you know what I am talking about? If this pony has to do something about this case. You are becoming accessory to the crime and you won't just get another sentence, I'm pretty sure this means banishment!" Carrick adjusted his fedora, he has got her on the ropes.

 

"W-w-well, what if you are wrong?" Trixie countered.

 

"Am what if I right? Are you willing to take that risk?"

 

Trixie started to sweat profusely. Breathing became even more irregular as the breathing was heard in the room. She was about to crack, Carrick knew it!

Carrick turned back to Ponyborn. Carrick could tell from the look of Ponyborn's face that it was big. However, this is a big moment. Trixie's eyes look straight down as she tried to realize the predicament of her situation. With the slightest wrong push could lead to the end of this. He closed his eyes for a second and listen to his gut. He sighed and said "Blaze, uhh, White pegasus" Carrick didn't ask for his name. "you take care of this for a second, I'll be right back." Carrick went out and opened the door for Ponyborn. He closed the door slightly. He saw the two guards were right beside the door.

 

"Is there something wrong?" One of the guards ask.

 

"No. Can you give us some privacy?" Both guards gave a nod as the moved farther away. Carrick turned to Ponyborn "This better be important." Carrick said, annoyed.

Thunder walked up and stood right next to Trixie. "Listen Trixie, I know your scared but I really need to know who or what you got those spells from," he said compassionately.

"Look if they cant get her to crack i can use a spell to get her to talk, but its illegal, although we might not have many options, there is a big mystery we need to solve fast though so it might be a good idea." Said Ponyborn in a hushed tone

"You know, if you help us, we can get you a reduced sentence, maybe get you some extra food during lunch time. What can we do for you, the great and powerful trixie, that would persuade you to give us the information we need." Blaze asked.

Carrick was surprised, what he was suggesting is no doubt something that could lead the whole group into huge trouble "If we do something like that, we'll be in big trouble. I'd lose my license if anypony found out." Carrick retorted.

 

Trixie breathing quicken, talks from her past lover and reducing sentence from Blaze would help her decision but, her mind kept fighting it. If she had said anything she will not know what would happen to her. No matter what decision she choose it would consider to be a big problem but, what if they did find him? She would be banished to whatever place they decided even the moon!

 

"If Trixie says anything, Trixie will be in big trouble."

And really, I thought you were TGandP Trixie, all powerful not scared of anything. What trouble could you be in that could scare you?" Blaze said.

"I hope so as well..." Carrick said as he walked back inside the room. He heard the laughs of Trixie. It seem that she had made her decision.

 

"Trixie has no choice, does she?"

 

"No matter how Trixie sees it, Trixie is royally screwed." Trixie sighed, she had been defeated by the efforts of these ponies and has given them her fate. These ponies will found out the truth be it now or later. If later she will be banished forever, having no chance to redeem the respect that she had lost that day. Two Alicorns, an ex-lover, a detective. Will they be the ones? Will they last even a second? Who knows...all she knew is her life is on the line when those words spill from her mouth.

 

"When I speak this pony's name, you will have be prepared." Trixie said, her eyes staring at the ground.

 

"Prepared for what?"

 

"Thunder, Trixie is glad that she had seen you " Trixie said. Trixie ignored Carrick reply.

 

"The pony you should be seeking is named...Ice Star." Trixie took a deep sigh.

 

Carrick wrote down the name on a notepad. He hasn't heard of the pony named Ice Star. "Blaze, you seem to know about powerful unicorns. Do you know who this Ice Star is?" The detective asked.

Thunder looked at Trixie Cautiously. "It was good seeing you too. And I will see you later so we can pick up where we left off," Thunder said as he gently pulled Trixie into a hug.

"I have heard his name in passing" Blaze said. "He is wanted for practicing illegal magic, the problem is, no pony can ever find him. Whenever the Royal Guard seems to have a lead, Ice Star is one step ahead. He has over 23 confirmed kills, all of them being of nobility or royal guards." At this point Blaze was shaking "This guy is out of our league Carrick. I don't think we have the man power to take someone down like that. My S class spells might have chance, but he has the ability to not only control ponies, but get in their minds see there worst nightmares, it is enough to make ponies hearts stop." Blaze finished his explanation. It almost felt like the temperature in the room dropped a whole 30 degrees.

"Well then it looks like we have two options then dosent it? Option A: we give up, this guy is to powerful, we go home to our families and pray he dosent come for us. or if you like me we take Option B: we go at this completely unpredictable, he expects us to play by the rules, which we will Carrick dont give me that look, anyways we go about everything how we think it shouldn't be done, whatever we think we should do we do the opposite and maybe we have a chance...is anypony listening to me at this point?" asked Ponyborn (OOC: if you didnt under stand any of that i can change it later upon request) as he took a step away from the corner and twords the other ponies.

"Trixie's doesn't think it is that easy, Thunder" Trixie said with hesitation. She did not return the hug.

This Ice Star is one crazy pony. Still the option that Ponyborn gave him were two major extremes. Option A: Give up the case and move on. That is not an option. He wanted to finish this case till the very end. However, option B sounded more like a suicide mission. The look of fear and the chill of the room by Blaze's words made him sound like a God among ponies. To fight a god, even with Alicorns on his side seem like it would end tragedy. Carrick adjusted his fedora again. "We don't have to go to the extremes. If go out there against somepony whom killed 25 ponies with only 4 ponies by them strong with magic, spells, and intelligence would still lead to an outcome of failure."

 

"If anything we need to create a division specifically for this pony. We go out like that with a plan and strike hard. IF this pony does have these six ponies than we can't just let them rot. We...must push forward" Carrick said. Though confidence in his words, he knew that this idea was still a suicide mission. He was just an earth pony, not one of magic or flight. He does have strong ability with his words but if his mind is control than what use could that be. This mission is something the elements of harmony would do...not just an regular Earth pony...

Blaze shook his head like he was trying to rid himself of all of his self doubt. "Sorry if I sounded weak, I should be more positive. If there is a great evil out there, there must be an equally great good out there. I believe that we do possess the power to take him down. If we do this intellectually. We must do our research and create a plan of action, Carrick is the most intelligent pony here, does anyone object to that?" No pony spoke up "That means Carrick should be our leader. If he can create a plan, and we can put that plan into action, we just might be able to win this. We have limited information, so I say we begin by gathering more info on just who we are dealing with." Blaze finished his speech and looked at Carrick for confirmation.

"I'm just an entertainer, tell me who I need to shoot to please the crowd and I will," Thunder said though he really wanted to stay and make sure Trixie wasn't attacked.

"You would have to be a foal to jump into a battle without knowing your opponent." Carrick said, "information is probably the best thing we can do. Trixie." Carrick turned his attention to Trixie.

 

Trixie voice was to open but the door came opened as two guards came inside. The guards were not the same one from outside. They wore the same uniform but, they felt odd, they felt full of anger as their expression on there faces looks like they were told to clean there room at young age. "I think you're done here, Mr. Murphy." One of the guards replied.

 

"I'm pretty sure I'm not, sir." Carrick replied.

 

"Yes, you are. We're taking her back!"

 

"Do I have to talk to the warden about this?"

 

"Fine go ahead," The guard motion Carrick to go to the door. Carrick walked outside as he saw seven other guards, waiting for him. The same feeling of anger came upon them as well. Looks like this mind controlling thing is bigger than I thought. Carrick closed the door behind him. "We have a big problem..." Carrick adjusted his coat, a big sniff of the air as he went in and punched one guard in the back of his head...

Thnder pulled out a tuft from a thunder cloud and put lt over his hoof. Then with a flick of his wrist he sent a non-lethal amount of electricity at the gaurds.

Blaze knew the guards were possessed as soon as they came in, the were permeated with dark magics. As soon as Carrick hit one of the guards, Blaze used his magic to launch a bolt of fire at the other guard, the force of the fire knocked the other guard out.

 

"Ok, so this is not going to look good if someone walked in on this." Blaze said

"I dont think that's our main concern right now Blaze." Said Ponyborn as he kicked a guard in the head with his back hoofs. "Grab Trixi and lets get the hell out of hear!" He yelled to his friends.

Carrick slide and held the door. The guards pushed the door hard."GET OF THERE NOW!"

 

Carrick took at the guards in front of him. Shocked, suckerpunch (by Carrick), burnt and bucked. It was only two guards, but seven or even more are here and tried to push Carrick off the door. "You two!" Carrick pointed at Ponyborn and Thunder, "Get Trixie out of here, I'm pretty sure mind-controlled guards don't want just her to to bring her back to her cell." Carrick said.

 

"Blaze, you're with me. We'll be holding these guards so they can get out of here." Carrick said, taking no time for a confirmation he took a step back and bucked the door off. It hit the guard behind him. "Let's go!" Carrick went as he went for a tackle...

Carrick tackled a guard as they exited the room, Blaze followed Carrick out of the interrogation room, there were probably about a dozen guards outside standing in a riot line as if to detain them. They had shields and spears pointed at Blaze and Carrick. " Carrick, I have an idea but you have to get down, this might be a bit destructive." Blaze whispered to Carrick.
