Thunder walked out after having slept his recent zapapple high off. "What's up everypony? Did I miss anything?" He asked Blaze. "It seems as though we should start paying taxes on this cabin, seeing as how we're pretty much a family living here."

Daeva woke up knowing that she had a good night's sleep, she turned around to see nopony beside her but she knew Blaze was here a while ago.

 

She went over and pushed the cabinet away, allowing her to open the door. She went down the stairs to see Snow crying uncontrollably but she knew she couldn't do anything so she went over to Dante, her pet wolf and gave it a few gentle pokes. It woke him up but he looked a little bit hungry.

 

"Wait here Dante, I'll be right back with some food." she said as she went outside the cabin and flew past Carrick and the others.

 

"I'll be back everypony, don't worry about me!" said Daeva before she flew into the many trees around the cabin to find food for his companion.

 

Daeva flew around and saw a few apples here and there so she flew over and snatched them off, tree by tree until her hooves were full of apples.

 

She flew back to the cabin and into the living room and tossed down all the apples onto the floor right next to Dante.

 

"Here you go, if there are any more apples left then just place it in your saddlebag." she told Dante before going back out of the cabin to ask Carrick what he was planning to do next.

"We're heading out," Carrick told Daeva. "I'm pretty sure you had your fun and such, but it's time to get to business. We'll be leaving in six minutes so pack your things." Carrick took another bite of his apple.

"I don't think I have anything to pack to be honest.." she replied Carrick before she went back into the cabin to check on Dante.

 

There were a few apples left sitting on the wooden floor so I picked them up and threw it into the saddlebag that Dante was carrying.

 

"Hey Dante, we're going to head out in six minutes."

Carrick took off his fedora and scratched his head. He did another skim of his notes again. Hm, I really haven't used these notes as often as usual. It really has felt like a vacation. Carrick put his fedora back on. Time had come, He wrote down a note on top of the cabin door. The note said:

 

Going to the path.

 

~The Detective.

 

Hopefully the ponies who didn't wake up will understand the note. Carrick adjusted his trench coat. "Alright, ponies. Time to head out." Carrick started walking back on the path. Past the cabin that they had stayed in. Past the burnt ground in the battle with Snow. The cave that we hid in after Deava's crazy stunt. Carrick wasn't sure if they would find anything. Time flew by too much, too many things happened. If Carrick had to give a word for the experience he'd been having on the mountain it would be, overwhelming. Carrick continued to trout with the group that had woke up early. Let's see what this path takes us...

Daeva commanded Dante to follow her and protect her no matter what, Dante followed her all the way out of the cabin and next to Carrick.

 

"It's been a while since we've been traveling together for the sake of Ice Star, the Elements of Harmony and the Mane IV." she told Carrick.

 

"Let's move before it's night." she added.

"Yes, seems like we got....sidetracked with various other things." Carrick said, the path kept going higher into the mountain. The walk became more of a hike now. He turned back and look behind him. He saw Starbolt and Fae a bit far away. "Hey, have you notice anything different about Starbolt?"

Daeva looked at Starbolt, looking up and down from her hooves all the way up to her mane.

 

"No, I don't think so. Maybe I'll notice later.." she said as she looked back at Carrick, confused at why he would ask her such a question.

Thunder flew behind Carrick. "Hey Carrick, aren't you worried about leaving Snow.... alone...... with Hypno." He asked. "It seems to me Hypno wants Snow back on the loose, and something tells me if that happens she won't want to go back to Ice Star reporting that we saved Sweetie and are on to him."

"Huh, you sure? I've been noticing that she's been blushing and stuttering a bit. Hmm, she doesn't look sick either. Hmm," Carrick turned to Thunder as he question's Hypno intentions with Snow. "She can't do anything. She's as useful as an weak earth pony. She has no magic powers and they won't return for a long while. I'm pretty sure from what Hypno told me, Ice Star won't listen to failing pony." Carrick said.

"Don't worry Thunder, her magic is currently suppressed and what Carrick gave her should stop her from using any magic for a month." she told Thunder.

 

She had her doubts that it Hypno was trying to release Snow but she had no choice but to trust him for now..

 

"Hmmm.. Maybe it's because I was asleep the whole time, I haven't heard Starbolt stutter or seen her blush but when she does that whenever she talks to you it's maybe because she likes you." she told Carrick.

Had waked back to the group. He looked at Carrick with a disappointed face "It would of been better if you had mixed it with a drink" he muttered as he walked in the cabin to see Snow sobbing. "Well, that wasn't the best way to handle it, but it was much better that amputation..." he thought in his mind.

"...huh." Carrick voice faded away when she said that she might like him. Carrick's memory popped into his head:

 

"Carrick, come to bed."

 

"No, I'm busy."

 

"Please?"

 

Carrick shook his head, "Sorry, but I have more important matters to attend to than to rest with you and your b-" Carrick wording could have gone better.

 

"Finish that sentence!"

 

"I'd rather not." Carrick got bucked in the stomach.

"I like you! Haven't you notice?"

 

"Huh, the blushing and random laughter. I just thought you were ins-" Carrick closed his mouth.

 

"Uh what?"

 

"Nothing..." The pony started to cry and run away from Carrick.

Carrick's past with mares when it comes to romantic relationship had been lousy. It was one of the things that Carrick hadn't fixed when he started to become more...social. Carrick seemed to have tendency to have that problem to blurt out truths that most mares wouldn't like. He hasn't had a marefriend ever since he became a detective. He didn't know if he ever fixed that problem as his talking skills improve vastly when he started working on the field. Though he didn't know if Starbolt actually did like him. He felt that he might be in trouble...because it always been trouble for Carrick Murphy. He stare out into the skies as he continued to hike...

Hypno took one last look behind him to see that the ponies had left. He looked at the fruit bowls and took in the fact that they were going to leave Snow now. His bad side came out in his mind just to laugh at him. "You did all that stuff and they are still going to leave her here!? That's rich!" it said and then left.

 

He walked up to Snow and slumped down next to her "Hey again" he said in a honestly sad tone. He knew that any trust he had worked up with her was gone now.

Snow sobbing had come to a soft tears in her eyes. All her emotions had been poured out, Snow didn't know how long she had been crying. All of it....gone...in an instant. Snow heard the sound of Hypno close to her. "Hey...." She said softly.

"I'm sorry about... what happened" he said as he got up quick. He grabbed a glass and filled it up with water. "Here, drink this if you still have any dust still in your mouth." he explained ad he gave it to her.

"T-thank you" Snow took the water and drank it. It did feel good as the dust around her mouth finally went away with the tasteless water. Snow place the cup next to her and held the fetal position. "So....what are you doing here? Are you here to kill me?"

"Nope" he said as he sat back down next to her "I'm not here to kill you." he chuckled softly. "I stayed here because i'm your friend, and i value you more than them." he explained "And they clearly fed you something they had no knowledge about, and they got lucky you'll be fine. Though your body might feel a bit weird for a few minutes"

Daeva didn't have anything to do so she flew over to the lake where Blaze and her were collecting bottles of water and followed the stream all the way down into the main water source.

 

She decided to take a dip in the water to refresh herself from everything she's been through, she flew back up after a few minutes and dried herself off.

 

As she was walking back she saw a few berry bushes lying nearby so she took them as well and flew back to the cabin to show the Blaze what she found.

"W-what are you talking about?" Snow asked, she didn't understand what Hypno meant. Does he mean the stuff I just had? Did he tried to help me?

"Daeva, where are-" Before Carrick could finish his sentence, Daeva left away. Stuck in a situation where he really didn't want to be in. Damn it, do any of these ponies care....I mean Starbolt does...wait, let's not think about that! ARgh!! Carrick's face looked fine, but his mind was in an argument...

Thunder did a mega facehoof. "We are the worst team ever, I don't even know how we got this far," he muttered. "So Carrick, where to? I doub't we'll find anything just climbing up the mountain." He said, trying to snap Carrick out of his daze.

"The powder that stops your magic, it's not exactly the safest thing to be stuffing down ponies faces. But don't worry, you'll be fine." He explained. Hypno thought he head something approach the cabin, but didn't think it was anything.

"O-okay," Snow stayed on her fatal position, she really didn't want to say much. She just wanted to be alone...

Carrick shook his head "Those two are becoming a problem. Ever since they started to hook up they've been busy being romantic." Carrick talked more about the old group than the two others that they meet in the cabin, they two others don't have any obligation to go with the group. They only just meet Carrick and the others. However, those two have been there for a while.

 

"We keep following the path for now, if the path just stops than we have to think of something else." Carrick said.

Daeva arrived to the cabin and saw Carrick looking fine but she knew something was wrong after she told him that Starbolt might like him.

 

She quickly went inside and tossed all of the berries inside Dante's saddlebag and went back outside to see if Carrick was fine.

 

"Carrick, is something wrong?" she asked in a soft voice.

"Anyways, i'm sure you must really not want me around." he explained to her. "So i'll be upstairs, and if you need anything at all, just call. Think of me as your personal pony servant for now" he chuckled.

 

(Everyone but Hypno and Snow left the cabin i think)
