Rain stared out the car window, and sighed.It was a rainy day and she felt gloomy, just like the weather.Even though her name was Rain, she didn't neccisarily like it...Her father was taking a while, he'd had some sort of appointment..But he usually never took this long... One more minute..Rain looked at her watch. She'd wait for another minute, and then she'd go in looking for him.Twenty seconds...Ten seconds..Alright. That was that. Rain got out of the car, pulling her hood up onto her head.The rain poured down, making it difficult to see.She reached the double doors and opened them."Dad?"She called, quietly.The room was empty, but there should have been a secretary there."D-Dad?" She called again, and walked into the next room.Empty again.There was a loud THUMP! from above, and Rain quickly up the stairs, and to the only room up there.Empty too.."Dad? Quit playing jokes."She sighed."Oh dear.. It's not your father.."Rain turned and jumped, an old woman was standing there, smiling horribly."He's a bit.. tied up."She pointed to the corner of the room, where Rain's father was indeed tied up.The woman lunged at Rain, her face morphing into a horrible beast like state.Jumping out of the way, Rain felt in her pockets for something, anything.There was something there- a ... die?Ugh, this would be no help.Rain growled in frustration and grabbed the die, then threw it at the woman, and the die turned into a sword?!The woman screamed as she disappeared into a cloud of golden ashes."D-Dad?" Rain called, as his binds disappeared as well, and then she fainted.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Andrea scanned her reflection in the car mirror.She smiled in satisfaction- her reflection was always satisfactory.Sighing, she looked at her phone, it was ten minutes to two, and her dad still was not here.She'd booked a very nice, very fancy and expensive restaraunt for she and her dad today.But he was not here!And he was never late.She dialed his number."This is Christian Grace. I'm not available at the moment. Leave your name and number, and I'll-"Click.Still no answer.Andrea looked around and saw a very handsome young man staring at her.She smiled and waved.He waved back.Ah, good looking people make her happy.The young man got up and walked over to her table."Hey beautiful.""Oh, hello there."Andrea winked."Listen, your dad? He's not gonna be joining you. And I think you should come with me."Andrea looked at him in confusion."What?""Come with me, girly."He transformed then- into some sort of dragon?Andrea must be sleeping.The man grabbed her and ran from the restaraunt, then flew up into the air, and Andrea screamed.What was going on?!She took a deep, steady breath."Listen. You don't want to hurt me. You like me, and you like my father. And you're just taking me to him, so you can let us both go."Her words seemed to soothe the dragon/man.He smiled and nodded.Andrea's words has this effect on just about everyone.She smiled.The dragon/man let her down softly in a abandoned warehouse, and she saw her father tied up to a chair.He was untied, and the dragon guy opened a door for them."Here you go. Be careful."He smiled and his eyes drooped."That's right, you're tired, aren't you. Go to sleep and forget us."Andrea and her father walked away, and she fell asleep almost instantly in the car.

Blaze walked down the street, this day seemed to drag on like every other, Blaze had begun to feel bored with his life. He didn't know why, in fact, his life was just starting. Blaze had just graduated high school, and was accepted to BSU for the fall semester. His mom was extremely proud of him, and always had been. His mom was a high school drop out, mostly because she was giving birth to Blaze at 18 years old and couldn't finish her senior year. She dropped out and got her G.E.D, and attended night school and took some night classes in Real Estate Law at BSU. She did everything in her power to give Blaze the best life possible. Even though Blaze had no father to call his own, he had always felt that his mother was enough, that he did not need a father figure in his life. Blaze was never angry that his father was never there for him, and he did everything to live his life to the fullest, if not for himself, than for his mother's happiness.

Blaze passed a big sky-scraper that he new to be his mother's bank. I am close Blaze thought, Just a right up at this intersection and I should be there. Blaze took a right up at a busy intersection and then headed straight for about 40 yards, he then took a right down an alley-way. Inside the alley-way were a couple of dumpsters and a staircase leading down into an old abandoned maintenance shaft. Blaze approached the staircase and walked down it like he always did. Blaze found solace in being underground, he always had, and often came to this maintenance tunnel to think. Blaze had no idea why the maintenance shaft was abandoned, but it was and always had been, ever since he was a little boy. The maintenance tunnel was a large tunnel that crisscrossed its way throughout the entire city, yet no engineer dared go to the part of the tunnel that Blaze always resided in. Blaze reached the bottom of the staircase and opened the maintenance door.

Blaze sat in the same spot he always did, thinking. Even with his extreme dyslexia, Blaze had managed to graduate high school with a 3.0, and he was proud of it. But for some reason he felt bored with the whole idea of school, he always did feel bored with the idea of school, but tried his hardest to graduate for his mom. He loved is mother so much, and tried his hardest to make her happy. But Blaze hated school, Blaze had always wanted to go into UFC. He loved fighting, he had been fighting bullies his whole life, and was surprisingly good at it, but his mom detested violence and always scolded him for fighting.

Blaze sat in his favorite spot, and pulled out his favorite drink. A nice cool dr. pepper. He took a swig and then put the cap back on. Blaze pulled out his phone and realized he had been messaged. His phone screen had a notification, he swiped his finger from the top of the screen down to the bottom and it revealed a drop down list of his notifications it read like this;

New Voice Mail from Kirsten Reese (mom)

5 new messages

Blaze@gmail.com

New text message from Ryan White "Hey man did you catch the fight las..."

He remembered the first time he ever met Ryan as a 3rd grader, he was bawling as a bully lumbered over him kicking him in the sides. Blaze rushed in and knocked to bully out cold in a matter of seconds. He extended a hand to Ryan asking if he was all right, and ever since then they had been friends. Ryan knew about Blaze's fighting abilities and always supported his dream of UFC, of course he gave up that dream and decided to major in graphic design, because Blaze had also always been good at drawing. Blaze clicked on the message he received from Ryan.

"Hey man did you catch the fight last night on Spike? Anderson Silva won against Chael Sonen it was a great match-up."

Blaze clicked reply and typed in the following; "No man I had to work last night, thanks for keeping me posted though." and clicked send.

Blaze was referring to the job he had at the sugar factory in downtown boise, the pay was above minimum and it was more than enough to pay for his motorcycle insurance. He barely drove his bike unless he was going somewhere more than a few miles from the condo he lived in with his mom. His mom was a real estate agent, no scratch that not 'a' real estate agent ' The Best Real Estate Agent ' in all of mid western Idaho, His moms name 'Kirsten Reese' was on Billboards, and Ads everywhere. His mom had the most uncanny ability to persuade her perspective buyers into buying. This ability was what kept her and Blaze from poverty in fact Blaze had a pretty good life and got most of what he asked for when he was a child. But Blaze figured out the value of working with his own to hands, he stopped relying on his mom and worked wherever he could work to pay for the things he wanted.

Blaze decided to check his Voice Mail. He entered in his 4 digit security pin and listened closely, "You have one new voice message" The automated voice told him " Received on July 10th, 2:30 PM" The voice switched over to his mom's "Hi, I was just calling to see what your plans were for this evening. I was thinking we could go out for chinese tonight at Tse's (This was Blaze's favorite restaurant and she knew it) any way I have reservations at 8:00 so if you could meet me there at 7:45 that would be great. Love ya Blaze bye." The voice switched back to the automated voice "You have no new voice messages, to replay this message press 1..." Blaze hung up at put his phone back in his pocket. Why was she taking him out to eat? Blaze knew his mother did not normally take him out to eat, not unless she had some bad news to tell him.

Blaze pulled out his phone and checked the time,

7:13 PM

He remembered Tse's was 7 miles from his house, which was a couple of blocks away from the maintenance tunnel. He ran back home. He decided to take a shower before heading to the restaurant, this only took a couple of minuets. Blaze looked at himself in the mirror, everything about him seemed to come from his mother, from his fiery red hair to his bright blue eyes, to even his high cheek bones. His tattoo on his right shoulder reminded him of his birthmark that used to be there, the original birthmark looked almost like a discolored flame. When he turned 18 (last november) he talked it over with his mom and decided to get a ornate flame tattoo'd over it. He thought it looked awesome, and women thought it looked hot, at least that is what his last girlfriend said to him two weeks before the date that she broke up with him. Blaze's gaze went to his chest, it was pretty defined, most people would say he had a 'six pack' but Blaze had never really worked out in his life, so he blamed it on his moms genes, as she was unusually fit for someone who hadn't worked out also. Blaze put on his favorite blue polo, and his nice white dress slacks. He put on some deodorant, grabbed his keys on the night stand, went to the front door and trapped his leather jacket that was hanging from the coat rack, and put it on over his polo. Blaze exited the house, went out to his red Kawasaki Ninja and straddled the seat. His helmet was hanging from the handlebars from the last time he rode which was earlier this morning to work. He slid the key into the ignition and started it up. Blaze pulled out of his drive way and headed off to meet his mother.

It was a sunny day in San Diego, the surf was good, and streets empty.

Gabe smirked...

He grabbed his longboard and placed it on the ground at the top of hill.

"Lets do this...."

He pushed off, he was weightless just for a moment then the board met the ground.

THUD! "Yeahhh!" he yelled in excitement.

Gabe was going fast that he was pushing the speed limit.

Then all the sudden it started to rain, as the sky got dark...

"Thats strange..." Gabe said to himself.

WHOOP! WHOOP! went the siren followed by red and blue lights.

"Aw come on..."

The police cruiser pulled him over and a man got out.

The man said, "Your coming with me."

As the man placed his hand on his shoulder he felt a cold presence.

"Your not a cop..." Gabe said as he locked his wrist and twisted his arm in a excruciating lock.

The man's face disfigured, as the rest of his body started to transform and Gabe heard a loud SCREECH!

Gotta think of something quickly....

Gabe's amulet was humming and Gabe placed his finger in it. It shocked him. OW!

Then a golden cuff appeared on his right forearm and it said to Gabe,"Use me, I can turn it to any weapon you desire..."

Gabe thought of a katana sword...

SHING!

A katana appeared in his right hand but it was made out of a strange material..."Use it quickly! For the beast arises!"

On pure reflex he threw the sword at monster's head just as it finished transforming into......SCREECH!

It disappeared in a golden flash of dust before he could see what it was...

Blaze always loved speed, he constantly pushed the speed limit, and always payed the price for it too. Cops seemed to go out of their way just to bust him, it got so bad that Blaze began to think that they had a picture of his bike, and that anyone riding it was a prime suspect to pull over. But today was different, even as the clouds grew darker and the wind speed picked up, Blaze began to push 95 in a 50 mph zone. Whenever he was going fast things seemed to slow down for him, it was the same in a fight, the reason he was so good was because whenever his adrenaline kicked in things always slowed down, giving Blaze time to react. Blaze had known this bike for 3 years now, ever since he got his license, for his sweet sixteen his mom bought him the red Kawasaki Ninja he had always wanted. He got so familiar with the bike that it almost felt like an extension of his inner-self, like he could feel the road beneath the tires. Every turn, every gear shift, every brake usage, was flawless. He could swerve in and out of traffic, and reach speeds thought impossible to go without crashing into a car. The pur of the engine, the feel of the gear shifter underneath his foot, the wind that pushed against his bodie, it was all too familiar too him. Before he left his house, Blaze checked the time, 7:36. He knew his mom would be angry if he was late, so he decided to speed. Needless to say, he made it to Tse's in record time. It was 7:44 by the time he reached the parking lot. He parked in a spot that was nearest to the entrance, took off his helmet and hung it from his handle bars. He took off his black leather jacket and folded it once vertically and hung it over his forearm as he entered Tse's

The hostess greeted him

"Good evening sir, may I help you with your reservation?" She said opening her ledger

"Um... no, my mother was supposed to meet me here, a Red Headed women most likely in a business suit." Blaze replied.

"Ah yes, Ms. Kersten Reese. Right this way sir." The hostess led him to a corner booth in the back of the restaurant.

He saw his mom beaming ear to ear.

"Hi there cutie, don't you look all spiffy tonight?" His mom said playfully.

He sat down across from her. She checked her phone

" So... you're a minute late." She said flaunting the time in his face laughin whilst doing so.

"Yeah, sorry about that, kinda lost track of time" Blaze replied sarcastically. The waiter appeared to take their order. Blaze didn't even bother looking through the menu, he had been here on multiple occaisions and always ordered the same thing.

"I will have the Kobari Beef as spicy as you can get it, with some white rice on the side." Blaze said.

"And I will have the spicy chicken chow mein and make it as spicy as you can." She said.

Yup, even got my taste buds from my mother Blaze thought.

They made small talk until the food arrived, mainly talking about their day and how work went. Their food arrived and they ate whilst they talked.

" So... what is the bad news?" Blaze asked.

His mother looked insulted "What? A mother can't take her son out to dinner without a article of bad news or something?" She asked.

Blaze kind of felt bad but he was adament to get to the bottom of it.

"Seriously mom, what is the bad news. When I was younger you took me here to tell me that grandpa died. You also took me here when you wanted to confess the murder of Pyro."

Pyro was a cute litte kitten he had gotten for his 8th birthday. His mom accidentally stepped on him and disposed of the body in the dumpster. He had cried so much that day that he swore never to have another pet again.

"I did not murder him. It was involentary cat slaughter and you know it. And if you must know..." She put down her fork and looked Blaze in the eyes.

"It is not bad news... I got a client to sell real estate to, a bigwig that told me that if I can find him a satisfactory house, he would pay me twenty thousand dollars on top of commision. Aparently he has plenty of houses, even ones he drew up the schematics for himself. But he wants me to find him a house for his daughter as a marrige gift and doesnt want her to know about it until after the wedding. So he hired me." She said grinning.

"Wow mom thats great, so is he going to stop by our condo and introduce himself?" Blaze asked.

Kirsten had a system, if she had a big client, she would invite them over for dinner and talk about business over a home cooked meal.

"That's the thing, you see, he lives in San Diego... and he wants to fly me out there to meet him. This may take a while, he wants me to sort through thousands of perspective homes in the surounding area to find him the perfect one. It may take anywhere from weeks to months. I would ask you to go with me, but I know you have your job and I dont want to make you quit. I will leave you a couple thousand dollars for groceries and any other necesity. I will also pay the utilities for the condo. You just stay here and work." She said, and then took a mouth full of chicken.

"Wow..." Blaze didn't know how to react, he had never been away from his mother more than a few days. It was a lot to take in. "Um... Congradulations are in order I guess. Congrats mom" Blaze said.

"So you are okay with this?" She asked.

Blaze would've been lying if he said he was okay with it, but he knew it meant a lot to mother and he could not take that away from her.

"Well I am happy for you." Blaze responded. "Great, so I have everything in order, I am leaving tomorrow. Your money has already been deposited in your account, and I..."

"Wait what?" Blaze interupted "You are leaving tomorrow?"

"Well yeah, the sooner I get there the sooner I get done." She said.

"Oh..." Blaze said "Okay,"

The dinner was silent from then on. Blaze finished his food and got up

"Well, I guess I will see you back at the house," Blaze said as he pulled out his wallet and dropped sixty dollars on it.

"Wait, sweety I can pay for it." She said.

"No its fine" Blaze said, considering he just got $2K depositied in his count, money was the least of his worries.

He told his mom he loved her, and that if he was asleep when she got home to wake him in the morning before she left so he could wish her safe travels. Blaze straddled his bike once more and sped off home. Fatigue suddenly weighed heavy on his eyes and he stripped down to his boxers and passed out on his matress.

The sun crept in from under the blinds, casting a beam of light directly onto Blaze's eyelid. The light seemed to almost be a slap in the face that told him to wake up. Infuriated at the sun for being so inconsiderate, Blaze woke from his slumber and sat up on the edge of his bed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Something seemed off about that morning, for one there was no smell of breakfast cooking to wake him, only the damned sun. And for two, the radio in the kitchen was not on playing the hard rock station his mother loved so much... His mother... That was right, she was supposed to leave today, and she didnt wake him up before she left. Blaze felt something tighten in his chest. The house just didnt seem normal with out her there. Disappointment crept into Blaze's heart, why didn't she wake him? He at least wanted to see her before she left. Maybe she did it for her benefit, so she wouldnt have to have a teary eyed good bye. Or maybe she was late and couldnt wake him. Either way Blaze still felt a bit sad.

Blaze got up and put on a blue silky button up shirt, and a pair of black Perry Ellis jeans. His tattoo seemed to hurt even though it was fully healed, it throbbed with pain. He didnt bother to take a shower that morning, he just didnt seem to have the energy, and since it the factory he worked at is undergoing an inspection he had the day off. So he felt no need to bathe. He went to the bathroom, used the toilet, and then brushed his teeth. He put his tooth brush up and was about to leave back to his room when he caught a glipse of himself in the mirror. His hair was a mess, he rarely ever cut it, because he liked the color of his hair and he liked to grow it out to average length. Most people that would see him on the streets automatically thought he was either a skater or a hippie because he had shaggy hair. But he tried not to dwell on what other people thought of him, so it didnt bother him one bit. Blaze pulled out a brush and combed his hair straight down. At least now he looked a bit more civilized. He put on some deodorant, and some colone.

Blaze exited the bathroom and sat down in the living room. He grabbed the remote and turned the television on. The tv was on the hub channel, his mom watched My Little Pony quite frequently. He sometimes joined her, and enjoyed the colorful talking ponies prancing around on the screen. Apparently there was some sort of MLP marathon on that morning, so he decided to sit and watch a couple of episodes. He didnt really enjoy the show this time, he was too busy dwelling on the fact that his mom left without saying goodbye. Blaze decided to take a walk to the Maitenance tunnel to clear his head. It took him no longer than five minutes to reach his destination. He began to decend down the stairs when he felt that something was off. The more he decended the more the feeling of anxiety took over. He no longer found solace in this place, no what he felt in that place was evil.

He reached the bottom steps and oppened the door, at first glance the place seemed normal, it looked the same as how he left it last time. But he as he entered the tunnel he could feel a gaze staring at him, no, into him. Blaze balled up his fist, "Come out, whoever you are. I know someone is here" Blaze yelled. At first nothing happened. But then he heard it. A gutteral growl that pierced his phyche and made him fear for his life. An instant later a giant dog whose tail was lit aflame, "WHAT IN THE HELL?!" Blaze yelled ad the dog leapt from the darkness and jumped at him. Blaze was now in slow mode, the dog was just floating in the air slowly coming towards him. Blaze took the oppertunity and punched the dog as hard as he could in the side of its head. The dog was sent flying into the wall beside him. The dog then dissentigrated into golden dust. Blaze let out a sigh of relief, but little did he know it was far from over. The dust began to reform back into a dog shape, Blaze was scared out of his mind. What the hell is it? Blaze thought. He booked it for the door, and jammed it shut behind him just in time to hear a thud as the dog hit the steel door with a thud.

Just what the hell is going on? Blaze thought as he ran back toward his house..

As the leading snake lady stepped up to his body Drake could feel her stare on his back she razed a heavy axe but before she could bring it down on him a feathered arrow stuck out the tip of its chest. The other two had similar arrows and while they looked in awe at the wounds they had received they each exploded into golden dust. The pain from Drakes own wounds was enourmous and before he could see who fired these arrows he blacked out on the side of that hill.

Sakura walked down the road, she liked the rain.

She gently let it roll down her face.

Getting into a car, she looked out waiting for her dad to enter the front seat.

She sighed as she got told her father wasn't coming with her.

"Again?" she moaned.

She got driven to town where she did nothing more but look out the window.

Getting out the car, she brushed down her white dress and wrapped the black coat around her self.

Landon scowled as he quickly wrenched open the taxi door, stumbling a little as the car lurched into motion, and just barely managing to disentangle himself and his backpack from the vehicle before it sped off down the winding road back towards town. He watched it grow smaller and smaller as it drove down the steep slope until finally it disappeared from his field of vision. Unsure, he took a moment to sling his backpack over his shoulder as he glanced up at the hill that loomed before him.

"A camp for special people," he muttered under his breath as he gazed apprehensively at his surroundings. "Seems legit." He was still in a state of doubt, and half of him wanted to believe that what his mother had told him a few days ago was just a lie. Well, actually, all of him did. HIs mind swirling with mutinous thoughts, Landon glanced back at the tiny speck below him. More than just a town, it was civilization. It meant a warm bed and a roof over his head, compared to where he was now. A bloody wilderness, and depressingly heavy rainfall.

He sighed and wiped any thoughts of return from his mind. Although he longed to ignore it, his mother's words did ring true to him, deep within. He had always known that there was something weird about him. That first time he had nearly electrocuted himself when he spilled Fanta all over his painstakingly-assembled project, and had come out of it unscathed. And all those strange...creatures that apparently his friends couldn't see. He had thought he was just going delusional from sleep deprivation.

"Well, standing out here in the rain isn't going to make me any happier," he grumbled to himself, as he began his trek up the muddy hill.

When Gabe arrived home his uncle said, "It's about time we went on a trip..." Gabe packed all his belongings and glad that he already broke up with his girlfriend. He packed his shoes, football cleats, jeans, shirts, and a picture of his mother. He grabbed his phone and charger and the long trip began...

Hours later...

"Gabe...son this is where I say 'Goodbye'" said his uncle with sorrow. "I am gonna miss you uncle" as he got out of the car, it was still raining and he noticed a few other people walking up the same muddy hill. "Well, here we go..." he said to himself as he began to climb the muddy slope...

{OOC: Changed her name}

Arcadia woke up in her dads car, they were sitting by a huge tree, in the pouring rain.

"D-Dad?"

"I'm glad you're awake. We don't have much time left."

"W-What?"

"You have to come with me, darling."

Her dad got out of the car, and confused, Acadia followed.

They reached the tree- and she was soaked through.

"We have to part ways now." Her father said, sadly.

"What? Why?"

"You need to be safe. You'll be safe beyond this tree. Don't look back, and don't come looking for me. When the time is right, I'll contact you."

Arcadia wanted to argue, but she knew not to.

Taking a deep breath, she nodded.

"Here's your trunk, I've packed it."

Her father handed her trunk over.

"Now, be good, be safe, darling. I love you."

Arcadia nodded again, holding back tears.

"I love you too dad."

She turned and walked past the tree, and didn't look back.

Suddenly, the rain disappeared, and it was sunny again.

Arcadia looked around and gasped.

In front of her was a huge blue mansion, and in her line of sight, a few different cabins decorated very differently.

"Ah! We've been expecting you."

Arcadia turned and saw a man in a wheelchair smiling at her.

"You have?"

She asked slowly.

"Yes, dear. Come along, I'll show you to the camp."

Arcadia followed, dragging her trunk along.

This was one weird dream.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"All right then, Andrea. Here's your stop. Your father sends his love."
Andrea nodded, and got out of the car.
"Here are your bags, miss. You'll have to carry them from here.
Just go past that big tree, and you'll find your destination."
Andrea huffed.
"I don't understand this."
"It's in your fathers instructions, miss."
The car boy handed Andrea her bags, and she grabbed them, turned on her heels, and walked to the tree.
Past it now, and she saw a huge mansion, which had not been there before.
"Where am-"
She turned and the car boy was gone.
"Oh, hello Andrea Grace."
She jumped.
"Oh- um, hello. Where am I?"
A man in a wheelchair greeted her.
"You're at camp."
"Camp? Are you serious? My dad sent me to camp?!"
She glared.
"It's not an ordinary camp, Andrea. Come with me, someone will get your bags."
Cora woke from her bunk and looked around. Sun shined through the windows.
She looked around the empty cabin, focusing on Perseus Jackson's bunk, where a set of armor and pictures of his family and girlfriend hung. Cora shivered and got ready for breakfast.
As she left the cabin, a light jacket wrapped tightly around her, Cora saw the other Cabins fall in, full of people talking to each other happily while she walked alone. Cora sighed, and took her seat at the Poseidon table. Chiron was missing when she looked at the table. The wine god started breakfast, and Cora scraped some food into the bronze brazier, and made a silent prayer to her father. Cora ate quietly, watching the rain pour down from outside the borders of camp, as she thought of the sea. She longed to slip away and just sit on the beach. It was strange though, there seemed to be a tense feeling of unease in the air. Everyone seemed troubled, even Dionysus, when she looked up at his table, where the wine god was usually scolding satyrs. Cora shrugged and continued to eat, when she saw two figures coming into camp. The unmistakable figure of Chiron in his wheelchair and some other kid.
"Newbie." she heard someone from the Ares table grunt maliciously, followed by evil chuckles and murmurs for an attack.
This was going to be one heck of a day...
Arcadia walked with Chiron, the man in the wheelchair, who she'd come to learn was not a man, he was in fact, a centaur.
She looked around, shy and weary of the other campers.
She heard a camper call out "Newbie!"
And the others laughed.
She hung her head and tried to not meet anyone's eyes.
"Now now, everyone? This is Arcadia. She'll be claimed tonight, most likely."
Chiron said, and walked off, probably to meet some new camper..
"Ch-Chiron?" Cora asked sheepishly as she walked up next to him, "I-I-Is there a-anything I can do to-to help?"
She half hid behind Chiron, looking shy as she peered at Arcadia from behind Chiron's shoulder.
Arcadia looked up and saw a girl looking nervously at her.
She smiled shyly.
Chiron nodded.
"Yes, please take her around the camp and help her with anything she needs. Her name is Arcadia."
He turned and left.
Arcadia smiled again.
"Hello there.."
Andrea walked to camp, and saw all the other campers talking and laughing with each other.
There were quite a few good looking ones.
She smiled brightly.
"Hello everyone. My name is Andrea Grace. And I am here, gracing you with my presence."
She laughed and noticed a few cute guys looking at her and smiling.
It had been a few weeks since he had gotten to half-blood hill but Drake felt as if it had been no time the hephaestus cabin was always full of gears and oil it felt like home already. Drake went outside and took his newest inventions with him they had been tested countless
times but now they were all perfect ... or almost perfect.
"Y-Yes Chiron, Sir." Cora said in a nervous, yet firm kind of way. She motioned for Arcadia to follow her, as she jogged down Half-Blood Hill. She headed for the Canoeing lake, showing the new girl the naiads and teaching her little bits of mythology as they toured. Cora still seemed nervous, and her stutter still remained, but she seemed determined to be welcoming and get Arcadia to a point where she was comfortable here.
Arcadia followed Cora and smiled as she showed her around.
"You don't have to be so nervous, you know. I'm not rude or ignorant like some people.."
She made dagger eyes at Andrea, who was so full of herself it was disgusting.
"What cabin are you in?"
She smiled again.
"M-M-My cabin..? O-Oh... N-Number three. P-Poseidon." she said softly. A wounded bird, a hawk, with an Apollo cabin arrow shot through it's wing fell to the ground in front of Cora. The young Sea child looked down slowly. A look of anger, shock, and compassion all rolled into one appeared on her face. Cora bent down and carefully picked the hawk up, cradling it in her arms. It looked at her, it's amber eyes glazed with pain. She looked across the clearing, where a group of three Apollo kids were high-fiving, and giving each other looks of triumph... until they saw Cora. A conveniently placed fountain stood nearby. Cora looked up from the hawk slowly and walked towards the trio of boys.
"Who... Shot this bird?" she said with the most frighteningly calm voice. The so-called leader of the group hid a bow behind his back and backed away slowly. Cora, cracking her neck, held the bird carefully in one hand, and with the other, willed the nearby water to clench the trio in a whirling cyclone of roaring water. Bystanders ran inside their cabins and peeked out through windows as Cora bent the water to harm all of the Apollo boys left arms, to give them a sense of the pain they caused the young hawk.
"CORA! CORA ELRIC, PUT THEM DOWN!" Chiron screamed as he galloped toward the young daughter of Poseidon. Cora then realized what she was doing, and gently set them down, the water splashing to the ground. Tears stained the cheeks of the teenage boys and Cora placed a hand over her mouth in horror as they all clutched their left arms, moaning in pain. Tears began to challenge her as she cradled the hawk and backed away from everyone slowly. She looked at Chiron and said quietly, her voice trembling, "I-I-I-I d-didn't mean t-to... It w-w-w-was only an ac-accident..."
Arcadia watched all this with big eyes.
"Here, let me help, I can help!"
She ran forward and bent over the Apollo boys, pulling out a tube of something from her pants pocket.
She rubbed it on the wounds and they healed instantly.
The boys got up and looked around, scared.
"Cora, why would you do that?"
She looked sad.
Andrea saw the whole thing, and she laughed loudly.
"What a weirdo. Freak, for real!"
She laughed again and a few others laughed with her, and eventually the whole camp was laughing, except a few kind kids, including Arcadia.
Arcadia glared over at Andrea and marched up to her.
"Just because you're pretty-" she said the word with so much venom that Andrea flinched,
"Does not mean that you can be rude and horrible to anyone you feel like!"
She glared at Andrea and Andrea glared right back.
For a moment, they stared at each other with disgust, and then Chiron trotted over.
"Girls, girls! Separate!"
He pulled them apart, and Arcadia went back over to Cora, while Andrea walked over to the boys.
Even though Blaze's house was only a few blocks away, it seemed he had been running forever. Every thing seemed so off about today. For one, the busy intersection that he always took a right on to get to the maintenance shaft was barren. No cars were on the street, it almost felt like the town had become a ghost town. As he approached the intersection, running as fast as he possibly could, his tattoo seemed to hurt even more, it almost felt as though his right shoulder was on fire. Blaze was on the street before the street that his house was on, when he heard them. The snarls sent shivers down his spine. Three evil looking dogs with flames on the tips of their tails sauntered out of the alleyway next to Blaze. At this point blaze new there was only two options, fight or flight. Blaze new he was greatly out matched, so he decided to run. He put every bit of energy into reaching his doorstep. Time went into slow-mo but Blaze felt like he was still moving at normal speed. He managed to cover 10 yards before the dogs could even cover 3 yards. Before Blaze knew it, he was at his doorstep, he opened his door and dead bolted it behind him.
Blaze was searching for his keys, and remembered he left them on the kitchen counter. Blaze found his keys but noticed that they were laying on a note. Blaze picked up the note and instantly realized the note was written in his mother's hand writing. The note was very short offering little more than a few sentences to fill up the otherwise blank slip of paper. The note said;
I love you Blaze, you will find your answers here
Camp Half-Blood, Half-Blood Hill, Farm Road 3.141. Long Island, New York 11954.
There is always light in the darkness.
So that was it. That was the real reason why she gave me two thousand dollars. Blaze thought She expects me to travel to the other side of the country, just to attend some camp. No it was more complicated than just simply attending some camp. Blaze knew this was serious, for signed under the address was his mother's favorite adage. "There is always light in the darkness". When Blaze was a child, and his mom would tuck him into bed, she would whisper in his ear this simple adage. It would always make Blaze more calm and assuage his feelings of anxiety. So for her to attach this adage onto the note was no small matter, it meant she was serious about him going to this camp. If it was in new york that meant that he would have to catch an airplane, which also meant that he would have to leave his motorcycle at home. Blaze did not like this one bit, he absolutely loves his bike more than any other object he owned, and to leave it behind would be almost the same as leaving a good friend behind. Just then he remembered Ryan, his best friend since childhood. He could not just simply leave him without notice. At this point though, with the hounds of hell beating down his door he did not have a choice. Blaze pulled out his phone and dialed his friend's number. On the second ring Ryan picked up.
"Oh hey man, I was just about to call you, can you hang today?" Ryan asked
"Actually" Blaze said " I called you to tell you I will be going out of town for a couple of months, I called to tell you goodbye and to ask you a favor"
"Wait, where are you going?" Ryan asked, now a bit worried
" I am going to camp for the summer." Blaze replied " I am going to catch a plane and I need a favor of you. I need you to pick up my Ninja and bring it back to my house."
"Yeah sure bro. Are you sure everything is alright? You sound panicked" Ryan asked
"I am fine... Oh and Ryan, thank you" Blaze said, and hung up his phone
Blaze got out his gym bag, and packed everything he was going to need. Blaze packed his button up shirts, his polos, and his jeans. Blaze also grabbed his iPod touch and his beats headphones, he hung his headphones from his neck and tucked his iPod in his pocket. Blaze grabbed his keys, and slid on his leather jacket. He slung his red gym bag across his shoulder. The last thing Blaze grabbed was his double edged Katana, (instead of the backside of the sword being flat it is also sharp just like the front.) He received this katana when he went to california last summer, he got it from china town. It had a black handle and was as sharp as a razor, Blaze had never had to use it before now, and he thought now was as good a time as any. He strapped the sword to his back, and approached the front door. He drew his sword and slowly and silently began to unlock the dead bolt. All was still, the dogs had stopped trying to get in and everything was silent. Blaze threw open the door, the dogs in a ready stance to pounce. Everything slowed down, as the three dogs leaped at him all at once. Blaze was ready though, and he quickly selected his first target. The dog in the middle. Blaze ran forward slashing vertically through the dog, turning it to golden dust. This created an opening that Blaze took. Blaze ran between the two dogs who were still pouncing at him, cutting the one on the right straight in half. Blaze leapt off of his patio and turned around mid air and tossed his katana at the last remaining dog. The katana impaled the dog turning it to dust. Blaze retrieved his katana and sheathed it on his back. He straddled his bike turned the key in the ignition and started it up. He had a long rode ahead of him, and he knew it.
He arrived at the airport and parked towards the back. Blaze took off his helmet and unstrapped his katana. He hung them both from his handle bars, and left the keys in the ignition so Ryan could drive it home for him. Blaze entered the airport and bought a one-way ticket to new york. He took one last look at idaho out the airport window, and then entered the airplane.
It took Blaze about 11 hours to get to new york, new york. It was only about 6:00 pm when he left, and new york time is two hours ahead of idaho time so it was about 7:00 am. Blaze stepped off the plane a little weak kneed, he was very obviously suffering from jet lag. Blaze was pretty sick at this point, Blaze always felt out of place in the sky and hated air planes. After a trip to the bathroom to pray to the porcelain gods, he caught a taxi.
"Where too, young man" The taxi driver asked as Blaze sat down in the back seat. The taxi driver was an elderly gentleman with a white scraggly beard and thick horn rimmed glasses.
Blaze handed him the slip of paper with the address on it.
"I don't know why you would want to go here." The driver said confused. " there is nothing here except some farm land."
This confused Blaze.
"Are you sure there is not a camp out there?" Blaze asked
"Positive, it is just a vast plot of farming acreage" Said the taxi driver, sure of himself.
Blaze thought for a moment.
"Take me out there anyway"
"Ok," Said the taxi driver hesitantly.
It took about thirty minutes to reach his destination. And sure enough there was nothing here but a hill with a tree on it. And to make matters worse, it was raining... Hard!
"Here is your money, I am going to have a look around. Don't wait for me." Blaze said
"Okay, but if you need a ride, don't be hesitant to call me" The old man said, handing Blaze a business card. "goodbye" He said, and sped off.
Blaze looked at the business card. Apparently the guys name was Peter Jefferson. There was not much else on the card except the old mans cell phone number. Blaze tucked the card in his coat pocket and began to walk up the muddy hill. He got up to the tree, Blaze was winded so he was slightly bent over looking at the ground. Blaze noticed that the rain had stopped abruptly. Blaze stood up and looked out scanning the scenery and was completely stunned. What he saw was not simply farm acreage but a large camp. With a whole bunch of different cabins of all shapes and sizes, and a big blue two story house at the head of the camp. He could see a dining area, and some archery and combat ranges. What exactly was this place? Where was Blaze? Blaze began to walk down the hill towards the camp, hoping to receive some answers.
Sakura ate dinner. before stepping out of the cafe.
She yawned "Oh, that tasted good" she patted her belly.
Hearing a noise he looked over in the street her mother and the family guy drove towards her at full speed.
Jumping back in fright before the car came to a stop.
"What you think your trying to do, kill me?!" She shouted into the car before getting in.
After getting in she saw the Suitcase next to her.
She looked up at her mother and asked.
"Why are they here?"
Her mother did not reply, Sakura thought something was wrong.
Before long she got pushed out of the car with her bags to see a tree.
"what am i meant to do with a tree?!" she called after the car speedy away.
She sighed and walked past the tree, only to see the camp.
Landon paused at the top of the hill, slightly out of breath after his dash towards the hillcrest. A few distant cabin-like structures met his eye, and he grinned. Least this camp has shelter - I thought I'd have to be kippping in a tent all summer. He looked around, and spotted a few others climbing the hill or scattered around the top, looking lost. Must be the other campers, right? He stepped forward towards the nearest one, but changed his mind quickly as the rainfall seemed to double instantaneously, and a roar of thunder rumbled in the distance. His backpack could only take so much, and he didn't want the electronics inside getting waterlogged.
He spent a good half-minute sprinting towards the camp, when suddenly, he had the strangest sensation of passing through a large invisible...something. The rainfall seemed to stop instantaneously, and puzzled, he glanced upwards. The sun was burning brightly in the sky where seconds before there had been dark, ominous rainclouds. "Weird," he muttered to himself as he continued his trek, slowing down a bit now that he didn't have to worry about getting struck by stray lightning.
Eventually he arrived at the cluster of buildings, and stopped, unsure of what to do next.
Cora just cradled the bird, standing there with wide eyes. Tears slowly rolled down her cheeks as she remembered the scene she had created. At last she spoke,
"Arcadia... P-P-Please... I-I-If you h-hate me now I-I understand... J-J-Just please... H-Heal the bird." she whispered, her voice quivering.
Suddenly she looked up at the hill.
"Chiron... T-T-There are others."
Gabe walked up the hill and said, "Hello?"
"Ah! yes welcome..." said a man in a wheelchair.
"Who are you?"
"I am Chiron and your camp councilor." replied Chiron.
"Well nice to meet you." Gabe said as he shook his hand.
"Alright then I shall be showing you to your quarters..."
At the time it was very dark out and everyone was asleep.
So Gabe placed his stuff in an empty space and fell asleep on the bed.
((I am just gonna skip the part when he gets claimed and just fast forward to where you guys are now BTW he is a son of zeus. I am just so tired so hopefully I will be able to post something better later today...))
(Awesome, that means I have a half-brother :D)
Landon paced around for a good half-minute, fuming slightly at the lack of obvious instruction on what to do next. He was at a loss, and turned around to see where the other new arrivals were headed, but was unable to find them amidst the crowd of campers now milling around the field, a few of whom were smirking at him and pointing him out. Furious, he turned around and was about to storm right back out of the camp when a voice behind him spoke.
"Hello there, and welcome to Camp Half-Blood," an old man lazing in a wheelchair quipped, looking up at him.
"Erm. Hello, sir." Said Landon, slightly relieved to not be looking like a complete idiot anymore.
"I do apologize for the delay, as I was speaking to a few other new arrivals about the procedure. Are you aware of what goes on in here?"
"Yeah, my mom told me," Landon said quickly. "All that Greek mythology, right?"
The old man smiled. "It's more than just a myth. Well then, head on over there to the new arrivals' cabin," he said, pointing out a prominent log building. "We'll sort out where to put you once your parent deity has claimed you."
"Great," Landon muttered, not feeling very enthusiastic, as he said good-bye to the old man and turned towards his temporary shelter.
