To be honest, I don't see this type of behavior anywhere except youtube comments. And that's... well, that's youtube. Irrational behavior and hyperbole is the standard over there. And it's disgusting to see arguments such as you've described go on there.

 

I'd LOVE to see a psychological study on why many youtube commenters, for all outward appearances, seem to be the dumbest bolts this planet has to offer. I swear, the moment most people begin to type a comment into youtube, their IQ drops like Scootaloo trying to fly.

I haven't seen it on dA (maybe I'm not looking in the right places). As for the forums, I may have seen one or two status updates about haters. I can't quite recall what was said about it all, but a few of them might have simply been members joking that they have "evil" friends. I know I have friends who hate the show, and I respect there opinion. Doesn't mean I don't get a good laugh when I bring up something pony-related just to get a rise out of him (trust me, I highly doubt he'll ever like the show).

 

As for attacking people who don't like or hate the show, I won't do that. I will see the casual YouTube flame-war, or a channel devoted entirely to hating bronies. I just simply ignore them. I mean, what's the point in fighting about it anyway? No opinions will change and it's a waste of everyone's time. I guess that last sentence is what I'm mainly trying to say. Unless you like fighting, then I don't even see the point.

 

TL;DR - Fighting over the Internet doesn't change opinions most of the time, unless you like fighting, it's a waste.

Because Anti bronies aren't normal haters. A normal hater just calls something gay then leaves.

 

These haters want us dead. These haters hate us for an entirely different reason. These haters hate us, because they think we are horrible people. A surprising amount actually don't care about us watching the show they just think we are jerks. Hence Antibronies and not anti ponies.

 

I honestly don't care if someone insults ponies. Why should I? Its their opinion. But insulting bronies on the other hand, I'm sorry but I'm defending.

 

You want to know what I dislike? How bronies is an insult to anyone who isn't one. If someone ask a famous guy on the internet if they are a brony you know what they say? "Why would that guy ever be as horrible as a brony?" or "He too good to be a brony."

I generally agree with your thoughts, and I think that some people are taking the show a bit too much seriously.

Even if the act of defending the show could seem right, the outcomes should be considered as well, 'cos sometimes it

is just now worth it.

What some bronies need to realize is that there is no point in fighting haters. I say, love and tolerate everybody, even the haters.

If someone keeps saying that the show is awful and terrible, it is their legitimate opinion. I'd ask him politely if they watched some eps, if no, I'd suggest them to watch few and then let them be. If you argue with them using heavy arsenal of F-bombs, you won't help anything :/ All you'll cause them to do is to leave with a stereotype that all the bronies are arguing idiots.

If someone is immature enough to keep spreading untrue things about fandom (,,All bronies are gay pedos" kind of stuff) then chance of making him stop by arguing or even mature talking are equal/lesser than zero.

Those are the two reasons when I could see some motivation to argue, and both of them bring nothing good if you try to solve them with arguing. If you have some other situation when you think it is good to argue with anti-brony/hater, quote me and bring them up please.

Putting a line in between each sentence of your post is a bit excessive, I feel. I acknowledge that you feel strongly about it and would guess you did that for emphasis, but it does make it hard to read. As for the issue you raised, it's unavoidable. There are people who will attack anyone who doesn't share their opinion on any particular issue. When a person like that becomes a brony, it doesn't change that about them. (In some cases it might, but the vast majority simply won't). Thank you once more, human nature. Best to just ignore such people, since they won't go away.

well this kind of rabid devotion is nothing new its just another form of fanboy(ism) or whatever the scientific term is and peopel trying to defend what they like is nothing special because everyone has a topic of discussion they will defend alot more then they would with another. my issue is when bronies lash out at other bronie because they have a different opinion on a mlp topic and will likly use the word "true brony". And whats worse is the they will later shift to being misunderstood and act like there the injured party in all this.

 

I think we all need to remember that were all just fans of a kids show not some cultural revolution.

It appears as if the people who have been receiving the hate, are becoming the haters.

 

What I usually do when someone posts on a youtube video 'WHO THE %^&$ WATCHES THIS?' I just tell them simply, it's a good show mainly its got good animations, voiceovers, good plot and story design, and not to mention personalities, it's all much better than the mumbo jumbo Hollywood throws at us today.

 

For those who can't think like how the rest of us are thinking in the civilized way, then consider this:

 

'Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.' Maybe you'll understand why they hate the show so much, then tell them 'Hey, it's no biggy, we're not forcing you to be a brony, if you don't like the show, k it's fine. But saying stuff like on that post just gets EVERYONE mad, and I don't people like to be mad a lot.'

 

If haters and Bronies can't settle this debate then it'll be all out internet war, hacks versus firewalls, might even turn into something bigger, not saying it is but yo get the point.

 

This is like the 'Over a Barrel' episode, just with the internet.

 

Haters: 'We want our internet back to the way it used to be, with no pony pictures 24/7!

 

Bronies: "We've worked hard in setting up our forums and keeping the fandom going, and we're staying!

I'd be laughing at that forum's admin, if it weren't locked, not because he's hating on MLP, but because he's a immature, possibly-brain-damaged, raging tool, the fact that he hates MLP and it's fandom is irellevant. If a brony made a MLP site to hate on haters and acted in the same childish manner I'd be laughing at said brony as well. The fact that he made a site for the sake of hating on a group of people is pretty sad, you gotta admit.
