Which Element of Harmony does Spike most fit?

After Suskel's pretty neat thread of "Which pony can live up to another element of harmony best?", I thought up an interesting question that I wanted to ask you all.

 

Which Element of Harmony would Spike, Twilight Sparkle's number one assistant, most fit?

 

 

I'm not going to answer juuuust yet, I wanna see what everyone else thinks first and give a fair-looking poll to start with. This is not about if Spike became one of the ponies, no no. This is purely about which Element specifically would fit him best.

IMO Loyalty. No matter how tedious the task is he would stick by Twilight and get it done.Sure there was that one episode when he ditched her but in all fairness she didn't make much of an attempt to stop him and by the law of Equestria every character must have a mental breakdown that leads them into doing something completely out of character

I think he would fit loyalty. He's always there for them and always wants to lend a helping hand. He could be under generosity too, and kindness, and honesty, AND laughter. Whoa! He's a mix of everything! I still think he is mostly under loyalty though.

I'd say loyalty for sure, because he certainly is loyal to Twilight and by extention to Princess Celestia.

Seriously now,

• One could say generosity on the sheer fact that spike, despite being a dragon, is fairly generous and that would be pretty hard, so he could be generous.
• Honesty? Not really. I have seen him lie the burnt book comes to mind).
• Laughter? He doesn't make the ponies laugh all that much. Oh well, he tries to (I think) which counts for something.
• Magic. Magic = Friendship here. And I wouldn't consider Spike friends with the Mane 6 (as I see true friends to be peers and accept this. This is not seen with Spike's friendships). So nope.
• Kindness? Not Fluttershy kind that's for sure.
• Loyalty. This one is for sure. I mean, the way he works for Twilight, is just . And he never betrays Twilight, so there's that.

It's 12:30 am so give me a break guys. I'm too tired. D:

 

I'd say Spike best represents loyalty because of his dedication to Twilight and what not.

I'd say loyalty, based on the dragon migration episode, and also on the fact that hasn't shown too much of anything else in the show. This is debateable, but it's my opinion.

I think magic is supposed to mean Friendship. I'm not so sure, but that's the message I get from it. And most of the important magical events of Twilight ( egg >> full grown dragon and Elements of Harmony) happened with some form of contact with her friends (Elements of Harmony for obvious reasons and egg>>>dragon with the Sonic Rainboom).

 

So magic in this sense is having true friends.

I think he fits Loyalty, Kindness. and generosity.

 

Loyalty: because he always sticks by Twilights side.

Kindness: because he’s always so nice to all the mane 6 he’s never said a bad thing. Also he is now sending letters for all of them~

Generosity: I mean did he see that MASSIVE ruby he gave to Rarity?!

 

Though I don’t think he’d be:

 

Magic: because he’s not really magical he just breath magic fire.

Laughter : because he’s not really… fun?

Honesty: the brunt book... enough said

I actually sort of agree to this. People have been rather mystified by what Magic actually MEANS in the demographic of elements. Five of them are emotions, but what IS Magic?

I personally believe that Magic represents faith. Faith and belief in your friends. That is why Friendship is Magic.

 

 

Also, lot of loyalty votes going on for Spike.

As for what I think, I'm actually going to say Loyalty as well. Despite that whole joke of him as Rainbow Dash, he DOES fit the element of Loyalty best.

He does have moments of generosity, but they are fleeting and he has his dragon nature to fight against.

Laughter fits too but he's quite a childish prankster and tends to get rather moody.

Honesty certainly not. He TRIES to lie badly and avoid things and cover up bad things he's done. But then if he feels a friend is suffering, he won't lie on their behalf too often. Plus Pinkie Pie is scary when interrogating.

Kindness certainly not, he can be quite bratty and the stuff he pulled in Owl's Well That Ends Well was definitely not kind.

Magic he could fit quite well with! Not only is he very close to Twilight and Celestia, but it's practically imbued within him, even if he knows only one specific form of magic like Rarity does.

 

But still, pretty interesting! I think it's because Spike is so young and hasn't really found his solid personality trait as of yet, rather like the CMC, that might make him interestingly diverse to an extent.

It comes down to your interpretation of the show really. Also beyond breathing fire, even rarity is more magical that Spike. In the MLP Universe, I don't think I've seen all that much magic from dragons. Spike breathes magic fire...and that's it. The other dragons fly and can swim in lava (which is more of a physical trait). I haven't seen all that much magic from them. I'd say Rarity has more magical capability than Spike.

i agree about rarity but this thread is not about rarity. and like i said before friendship is not magic magic is magic. the title of the show should be my little pony friendship is friendship and im going to stay with spike being magic but that just me.

Comparing Spike to other dragons he's pretty generous, considering all dragon's hearts drive to greed, and he managed to break that greed by a single act of generosity, giving that gem to Rarity.
