Octavinyl whimpered in fear at each time an arrow hit an object. She sqealed each time an arrow hit and imagined if an arrow had hit her. She started hyperventilating as she watched all the arrows fly by.

Morning star put down his bow and arrow he knew Octavinyl was unconformable, he went over to her."Hy how would you like to go somewhere safe"? Morning star hoped that she'll say yes because he liked her.

Bumble looked at Flitter Wing, thought for a moment, like she usually did even when she didn't need to, and continued, "No, this is actually my first time. Though if I keep shooting like that I'll probably hit the target, but I'll be shooting much slower than everypony else."

Blaze had caught up with White_Lightning who didn't stop after he had called him so Blaze assumed he just didn't hear him.

 

"Hey why are you out here all by yourself?" Blazed asked with concern.

"Yeah I'd like to go somewhere else safer than here!" She screamed as she was eager to leave the archery zone as soon as possible. "Getmeoutofheregetmeoutofheregetmeoutofheregetmeoutofheregetmeoutofhere!" She was panicking extremely to the point where she might start to cry.

Caught off guard by Blaze, who had apparently caught up to him while he was lost in his train of thoughts, he turned around and said:

 

"Oh hi, sorry, I didn't hear you." he said. "Just needed some time alone, or rather, time to think." he added.

 

Well, at least somepony came along after all.... maybe he's not as bad as Viridian said.

"Its ok" Blaze said calmly "Maybe i could make a few friend here after all" Blaze thought as he gave the other pegasus a warming smile.

 

"So uh since were out here do you want to do little race with me?" Blaze asked

Embers looked back "yeah, you might want to leave" Embers nocked another arrow, he sent in flying into the target "Ha! not that bad for a start" He hit it a few more time, he layed down "ill waich, give you some tips"

Normally, he wouldn't turn down a race. But he simply wasn't in the mood right now.

 

"Thanks for the offer, but not right now. I'll race you sometime later, alright?" he answered, a bit annoyed at the fact that he didn't fully understand why he came out here to think in the first place. He can't blame him though.

 

"I promise you, I will. But now's not the time." he added.

Morning star took Octavinyls hoof and lead her back to there tent."It's going to be alright , just fallow me back to the tent". Morning star said it in a very clam voice to make sure she understood that he wasn't going to hurt her.

"Oh ok then thats fine" Blaze said he was a little bit disappointed that he turned down the race but he promised he'd race with him later "He thought the white pegasus just needed some time alone so he just smiled and replied "Well i guess ill see you later i guess ill go see the others if they are still arching." So Blaze flew away leaving White Lightning alone with his own thoughts.

Octavinyl began to calm down and started to breathe at a normal pace again. "I'm sorry, I'm not used to watching things like archery." She said in a soft tone as she followed Morning Star. "What about you?" She asked.

Bumble set another arrow on her bow as she positioned it toward the ring again. Once more, she focused her sight on the alignment of the arrow, as she made sure the wind would help her instead of pushing against her. She let the arrow fly. This time it landed right over the bulls eyes, but clearly closer than her last shot. She celebrated again, slightly awed that she had hit it again. This time, instead of taking her time, she did it quickly. Set the arrow on the string, pulled back and fired. Big mistake. It flew far to the right, whizzing over some other pony's target. "Oops, sorry about that," she said, slightly embarrassed. She decided to stick with slow and steady. She preferred hitting the target rather than missing.

Morning star looked at her."I am use to it, but i was more worried about you". He was half way back to the tent when he relished he was still holding her hoof he let go to throw off any idea of him liking her he didn't care if she knew it but he didn't want the hole camp to start calling him romeo.

Embers chuckled at when her arrow hit his target "Dont worry, it takes time to lurn how to be happy, but slow, and you might want to aim a little bit below, okay? that way youll have it in NO time! your good!"

"You were worried about me? Oh that's so kind, I should thank you. Well maybe we shou-" She said to him, but she was cut off from continuing because she tripped a few seconds after Morning Star let her go.

White Lightning waved a hoof at Blaze as he flew away and returned to thinking. Before he knew it, he had spent the last half hour mulling over his troubles.

 

"Heh, might as well head back before the sun goes down completely." he said.

 

He took another glance at the dog tags hanging from his neck, and held them tightly,

 

Well, old friend.... looks like you were right in the end about there being good ponies somewhere out there. Heck, maybe I'll even find somepony special here...

 

With that, he took off again, trying to see how fast he could go before he reached the camp again.

Morning star saw her trip he ran over to her and picked her up."Are you alright Octavinyl"? He was worried about her but he didn't show it but he didn't care if ponys knew if he liked her or not beyond this point.

Blaze dashed his way towards the archery section of the camp it was getting dark so Blaze wanted to get in a few shot in before today had ended.

 

He spotted a group of ponies already taking a few shots he saw one of them trip before he shouted "Hey there everypony can i get a few shots in?"

"Ow I think I think I just scraped my knee." She rplied as she looked at her bleeding knee. "I'm bleeding I'm bleeding I'm bleeding!" She yelled in quick succession. "Ow it hurts!" She added as a few seconds later she passed out.

"Okay, I'll probably have to practice that. Though I'll only get a few more shot in before it gets really dark." She picked up an arrow and aimed it at the target. She inched it up and a small distance to the left. She made sure everything was in proportion before letting go. It flew a small arch before landing a smidget away from another one of her arrows. "Close enough," she told herself, then heard Blaze come up behind them. "There's another bow next to me, but you'll have to hurry up, I think we should be going soon, it's getting darker by the minute."

[Lightning Flicker 101]

Lightning Flicker glared up at him. "Sure." Her tone said she didn't like him. She turned back to her shooting. Dear Night Mother, guide my shots. And help me control myself around that pony. If he's not careful he'll end up dead around me.

Morning star bandaged up Octavinyls knee then he placed her on his bed and waited for her to wake up. He had something to tell her but he just wanted her and him alone so he could say it but he was pretty sure that she'll laugh at him.

Blaze was about to get the bow that was on the ground but then he saw Octavinyl pass out "Oh my Celestia!" Blaze shouted "Is she ok?" Blaze started to rush over to Octavinyl's side she was bleeding.

 

"We better get her some medical attention!" Blaze said with concern

White Lightning arrived back at the camp, letting out a content sigh. He went pretty fast back there and he got a bit sweaty, too.

 

I do hope I brought towels so I can wash myself later...

 

He then noticed Octavinyl lying in somepony else's bed, Morningstar sitting beside her. Whatever happened, it wasn't good. His expression changing from happy to worried he trotted over.

 

 

"What happened to her?" he could only hear her breathing very shallow. "She needs first aid, I can help, I learned some in the RGA!" he added.

 

Hmm.... I do get the feeling that they like eachother, might want to leave them alone later. he thought upon seeing Morningstar's deeply concerned face.
