Eyes slowly opened, the purple tint of the skies was the first thing Relámpago had seen yet again. He groaned, the feeling of a root under his spine, got him to get up from his light slumber. The earthly smell is something Relámpago is hard getting used to. He rubbed his back, feeling the soreness from sleeping awkwardly. He looked at the forest around him, he tried to look forward, but it was hard from the purple tint and the high trees to see anywhere much forward. Relámpago started to continue his journey. His mouth dry, his stomach growled with hunger, and his mind a bit delusional. However, all of that had not stopped him from keeping a grin on his face. The mask was held tightly all over his face. He was Relámpago! He is not afraid of anypony!

 

An hour crept on, as he felt the sting of sun's wrath. Sweat started to drip all over his body. He licked his dried lips once more and took a big breath. He saw something from the distance, maybe a pond? Relámpago started to rush as he slowly saw a small pond. Trees surrounded the pond, but were not close to it. As if it was a safe haven. The reflection of the purple light gave a beautiful look. The pond seemed big enough for a few ponies to take a dive. He needed to take a shower, he'd probably smelled pretty bad from not taking one in days. Relámpago went by and slowly took off his mask. His face of determination was slowly turned into indifference. He put the mask next to the pond and he went to take a nice dip.

 

It's been three days since the Celestia had banned all of the ponies into this forest. It was unknown onto what had happened to her. A lot of question that were left unanswered, and many of them will be left unanswered if stuck inside this forest. Relámpago didn't know how he got inside the forest itself. He was asleep and than....he appeared here. He wasn't sure what would happened to him, but he didn't care. The luchador was to busy as he enjoyed the feeling of water all of his body. It felt refreshing...

They were called the lucky ones, Royal Guards who escaped Celestia's judgement in exchange for their loyalty. Captain Trench devoted his life to The Royal Guard over three decades ago, and for the first time in his life, he doubted that he was doing the right thing. "Rocky, have you done what I asked?" He said.

 

Rocky was one of his squad members. He wasn't a very bright unicorn, but he could be useful when he tried. "Yes sir!" He replied.

 

"Good, then you took my cloak to be washed?"

 

"No..." Rocky admitted, "but I hit it with a rock!"

 

Captain Trench developed a small headache. "Okay then," he said, "I'll just wear my uniform..."

"Hmph..." Misty Leaves muttered dejectedly. This forest was an oppressive place. When she'd awakened here, she immediately tried to leave. She was met with an impenetrable energy field. Of course, she had not panicked and devised a plan. Her knowledge of plants helped her find food and built shelter from sturdy tree debris. Today, she was putting on the finishing touches to her makeshift lean-to. It was big enough to fit her alone. Misty had tried not to go far from her shelter. She had not seen any other ponies, but she felt she wasn't alone. "This is such hard work. Sucks I have to spend all this time without anypony to help me or to talk to." She had gotten into the habit of speaking to herself. Sweat dripped from her brow as she tied together the roof with vine. Misty looked over her masterpiece. Well, perhaps that was a bit of a self centered way to think, but no one was here, and these were just thoughts. Trotting over to her food stockpile, she dug out a hoof-full of berries. The sweet tangy flavor was very rewarding.

 

An hour later, Misty woke up in a sweat. She'd allowed her self to pass out. "Stupid, stupid..." she mumbled. She was angry with herself. She had no idea who or what lived out here, and passing out from exhaustion was not a very productive way to stay ahead. She worked her mouth, feeling how dry it was. Slowly, she crept to her little watering hole. The glimmering surface reflected the light of the ever unbearable sun. The bright orb reminded the grey pegasus of Celestia. She had seen the signs. It had been conform or get out, and Misty always did things her own way. Maybe she deserved this place, but whatever happened, she would get free somehow. "No one keeps me down." she said softly, carefully getting close enough to see the whole pond. That was the point she realized she wasn't alone at the little lagoon. Fighting back shock, she spoke out. "Hey, you there, what are you doing in my watering hole?"

The sounds of another pony quickly got Relámpago to flinched. He did not turn around to face her. It was Luchador tradition to never show your face to anypony unless it was somepony you care about. He took his hoof and searched for his mask, he felt the soft rubber from his mask. Relámpago grabbed and held it close to him. He did not want to put it on, just yet. It wasn't smart to put on a mask when you are wet. It might make the mask stink which is something Relámpago wouldn't want.

 

He answered the pony, "Isn't it obvious? I'm taking a shower, unless you want to smell a stinky pony."

"Uh, how long have you been coming here? I kind of use this place to get a drink." Misty replied with disgust. This pony was certainly odd. What was it he had just grabbed? "Hey, er, why won't you face me? Are you ugly or something? It's okay, I won't just you if you are." she said drawing closer to the now contaminated watering hole. She herself hadn't thought about bathing. Being alone for three days without anypony to judge her had made her become lazy with her hygiene. She discreetly sniffed her coat. It smelled awful. "If you don't mind, I guess I should bathe as well. But first, what do you have there? I saw you grab something a second ago."

"This is the first time." Relámpago said on her first question, he started to feel more cautious as she started to get closer.

 

She made a remark that she wouldn't judge him if he was ugly. He ignored that remark. Relámpago gritted his teeth slightly, though it was suspicious that he wasn't showing his face, the luchador didn't like that she assumed first that he was ugly. Relámpago never thought of himself as ugly, with that mask on, he could get any mare he wants.

 

Misty than ask about the mask that was on his hoof, he closed his eyes and explained to her, "It is a dishonor to a luchador if the public sees his true face. This is my mask, so that my identity is secure." He wiped his face to tried to take the water off him.

Misty began to sense something was off. Perhaps she had inadvertently insulted him. Then, she'd heard the part about honor. She began to feel ashamed. She was a bit clueless about talking with ponies normally. After she had left home, Misty took to spending more time with plants than other ponies. "Er, if it's about honor, or something, I understand. I'm sorry if I've insulted you. I'll just go and find a new place to drink from." she replied, checks burning. She was too blunt sometimes. Back in her home town, they called her brash and ignorant. In reality, she just had trouble with dealing with others in a civilized manner. As she turned around, she gazed back at the luchador. He seemed like the kind of pony to do things on his own, so he probably didn't want company anyway.

Trench was fastening his cape to his armor when he was stopped by Jackson, another squad mate. "This isn't wise!" Jack said, "You would doom yourself to the fate of the exiled if you confront her now!"

 

"I have sworn to protect the Princess's best interests, and that is what I intend to do!" The captain replied, "This exile has put strain on more than just this country and I was too old for this twenty years ago!" He opened the door to the Royal Barracks, the Canterlot castle was only a brisk walk away. "Do not follow, if she fails to see reason, I will need a soldier on the inside I can trust," he said as he left before Jack could reply.

 

He walked up the marble steps to the Royal Palace and knocked on the castle door.

Relámpago didn't reply when Misty left. He really didn't care if she left or not. felt that his face was dried enough to put his mask on. He slowly placed it on his face and tied it up. He took a relax breath, as he got a grin on his face. A rush of adrenaline came over him, just like every time he puts the mask on. A different side of him comes out, the side of a performer. He jumped out of the water and soar in the air for a few seconds right when he jumped in front of Misty. I always love doing that.

 

"It is fine. You didn't know about the situation. You don't need to find another place to take a bath." Relámpago said to her. Compassion with his voice, you could tell he enjoyed being a luchador, a mysterious masked wrestler.

The door became opened as one of the royal guards looked at Captain Trench. He was a bit bewildered on why he is here. "What are you doing here, Captain Trench?"

He spoke as he started to cross the guards, "I'm saving your country! You should be grateful! Where is the Princess? Where is the one who traded wisdom in favor of madness! I request an audience with her majesty, but to you it would be an order."

Misty took a startled back step. With a concentrated effort, she restrained a gasp. "Oh, er, thanks, I guess..." she replied, turning about and facing the pond. She'd still have to find a new place to drink from. An old saying popped into her mind. 'Never eat where you crap.' Well except this time, it involved water, but the message was still the same. Easing into the pool of water, Misty relaxed her tense muscles. Building shelter had been very hard work. She closed her eyes and let the mud and dirt rinse off. Dunking her head under a few times, she got out and shook off the water. "Sooo..." Misty said, noticing the luchador hadn't left yet. "My name is Misty Leaves. What's your name?" She tried to smile, but seeing a masked pony stare back at her was a bit disconcerting.

"An order, huh. Very well, I'll talk you to the Princess." The solider obliged to the Captain. However, the words he had said about Celestia he felt cautious about. It sounded like he was going to tried to create another revolution, just like the other time. However, he did not want to start anything with the Captain, he was the superior officer. He went and walked Captain Trench to various steps and pathways until they reached the big doors. This was the throne room where Celestia rules.

 

He opened the door to reveal a giant room with a chair in front. A rug that lead to the throne and Princess Celestia. A look of indifference to both Captain Trench and the Solider. However, the presence of anger could be still be felt. "Oh, Captain Trench. What do you want?" She kept her composure.

Relámpago didn't realized that this was the first pony he had seen in the past three days. He took a good look at the peagsus that went in the pond. The luchador shook his head as realized that he was stare a random mare, it could give off the wrong reason. He went and sat down on a tree. He rubbed the bumps all over his coat. She got out of the pond and told him her name. "My name is Relámpago," He said. He doesn't tell his real name to random mares, it was something that would disrespect his honor.

"Unlike you I actually am dying of old age, so I'll make this quick," Trench said, "We both have duties, mine is to protect you, I have done that for over thirty years. Your duty is to run a county, and this banishment has turned it into a military machine! You cannot be a ruler without a kingdom! I don't know what you think this will accomplish, but if you continue, ponies will die, and you will have failed them!"

Celestia face seemed to show a small bit of anger. Captain Trench just questioned him about ruling a country. "Captain Trench, I am understand that all ponies have opinion on how I rule. However, you're not here to give out your opinion, you're here to guard me. That is your only duty, do you understand Captain Trench?"

"Relámpago?" Misty replied, looking a bit confused. "That's an unusual name. So, where have you been living? I haven't seen any other ponies, but I knew about the whole banishment thing. I'm guessing we're not the only ones out here. But, this must be a large forest if neither of us have found others. Uh, are you alone? 'Cause it would be nice to find some other ponies. Like, maybe a group that got together?" She doubted Relámpago had seen anypony else. The way he seemed to look at her made her think that he was at least somewhat relieved to see another pony. Misty shuffled her hooves nervously. The mask made her uncomfortable, but she knew that the thing was important to him. Whatever it was that he had done before the exile, it didn't matter to her.

"I understand completely," Trench said, no longer able to old himself back, "I swore an oath to protect Princess Celestia. You are not Princess Celestia, not anymore. You have her body but your mind has rotted! You may not have another chance at redemption! I beg you to become who you once were, see reason!" He paused and spoke again in a darker tone, "If you truly do not see reason, then I will not serve a madmare."

She seems to ask a lot of questions, Relámpago thought to himself. From the question themselves, it looked like she was been solo as well since this had happened. Though she seemed to be in better shape than Relámpago, at least she had a pond and she seemed to be well fed. While Relámpago had only bits and pieces of food that he found. He wasn't used to living in a forest, he trained to be a Luchador! Not a survivalist. However, he was still alive and in adequate condition. "I've been living under the stars, and yeah. I've been solo since this had happened. You've been the first pony I've encounter for the past three days." Relámpago stated. He could that she was a bit uncomfortable, he didn't know by what, but it he ignored it.

Celestia frown, she started to become infuriated by this pony in front of her. "You dare call me a madmare! You don't deserve the right to protect me. Captain Trench. You are hereby banished." The horn on Celestia started to glow as he was teleported into the forest...

Trench had no idea where he was, but also didn't care. He had lost nothing, he simply found out that he had nothing to begin with. He walked toward the sound of other ponies talking.

 

 

 

"He isn't coming back," Jack said with a tear escaping his eye, "That dumbass! Why did he have to go and do the right thing!"

 

"Maybe not," Ronald said. Ronald was an enormous Pegasus with a grey coat. "He left a note."

Misty looked over the stallion before her. He seemed strong yet hungry, so perhaps he could be useful. "Well, judging from the look in your eyes, you must not be used to the forest. I myself have been able to find food. Maybe if you help me out, I could teach you how to forage for berries?" she said with an air of certainty. "Plus, working together could help us both survive. I need somepony to haul branches and other things. Being a pegasus means that I'm not exactly the strongest mare around. So, what do you say?" She gave a smile, hoping that was enough to convince Relámpago.

Trench walked through a clearing in the brush. Mist and Relámpago where the only two ponies he could see, but he knew there must be more. Be bucked into the air for what seemed like no reason. "Buckin' mosquitos!" He yelled, then stood still in social awkwardness. Did they hear that?

Relámpago thought about it for a second, he rubbed his chin. Well, it doesn't seem like a bad idea. It's better if we stick together. She doesn't seem like a bad mare as well. Relámpago nodded, "Okay, I'll assi-" A loud screamed came from the bushes. "Well, we're not alone anymore." Relámpago said. If it was some sort of spy, he wasn't a good one.

 

"Whoever you are, come on out!" Relámpago shouted at Trench.

Trench stood strait up, "I think that mask is restricting your view, I'm standing right here." He picked a few twigs and leaves out of his armor. "You might be happy to know that that barrier won't stay up forever."

Relámpago nodded, he doesn't have strong peripheral vision with the mask on. Though he has trained himself to overcome the problem. It was harder in a place like a forest where there was more darkness than light. Though Relámpago was curious, did he know something? From the look of his armor he was of a higher class, what is he doing here? "Well, how do you know that?" Relámpago asked.

This new stallion seemed much older than Relámpago, and a bit surly. "Uh, what do you mean? How long have you been in the bushes?" she asked, giving a questioning stare. Misty realized he was wearing armor. In her mind, two scenarios took form. Either he was a member of the royal guard sent to tell them that they were going to be able to go free, or he was here to eliminate them for teaming up. Misty began to worry that they had been monitored. She soon felt a little self conscious.
