A way humans could be introduced to MLP

Sorry if I'm about to ruin stuff for you.

 

Many of you probably saw this official map of Equestria. There is obvious issues with the size, since Applejack was able to walk from Ponyville to Manehattan and back, plus the ease the Mane 6 visited Dodge City in the Last Roundup and Rainbow Dash visited Los Pegasus in It's About Time. But the Mane 6 also took a day to visit Appleoosa, and it looks closer to Ponyville than Dodge. Yes, it says distance not to scale but still. So I'll disregard canon trips and change the shape and size of Equestria to the USA, since Equestria is obviously inspired by the USA, except with a better government (sorry, had to).

 

First of all, I know equines, cows, goats, etc... are not native to the New World. But magic is not native to the universe either. So, on with the theory, what if Equestria actually has the borders of the USA, and talking animals live all throughout the americas? Equestria in this world would have the pun cities on their respective real-world locations, however Canterlot would be in the rockies (and the capital of the Crystal Empire would be Vancouver/Vanhoover). However, across the Atlantic and Pacific ocean there are... humans!

 

Obviously there were no native americans (to be darker: ponies killed them), and the year would be no later than 1491. Preferably they'd be in the middle of the 15th century. Imagine the episode/fanfic ideas with this. Celestia could send the Mane 6 to lead a voyage to discover land to the east, and they end up discovering Italy. They spend a few episodes in Renaissance Italy, having adventures, making diplomatic relationships between different countries and Equestria, and shattering peoples beliefs with the goddess princesses. It'd be funny to hear humans reactions if Discord managed to cause chaos in the Old World. Sounds like a cool season once the writers run out of other ideas.

 

tl:dr: Equestria is the USA, humans live in Eurasia, Africa, and Australia.

I don't like this idea. Any chance that humans live in the Equestrian world wouldn't ruin it for me persay, it would just... I don't know... It just doesn't seem like it would go over well. (sorry)

If you want to bring in humans to MLP, you create a backstory where a magical/scientific/Star Trek portal is torn in the space time continuum and people can pass through. I think it's a bad idea, and I'm sure there's many self serving fanfics that have done that already.

Just playing devil's advocate here. However, for me talking cows and sheep ruin Equestria more than humans, since they can't do anything but stand around. At least Earth Ponies have ball and socket joins on the legs and magic hooves.

somehow the introduction of humans into the show would make it feel less adorable for me. call it escapism or what not but i find equestria awesome precisely because it's like this happy place without the influence of humans!

Other times...eh...not so much. Maybe my imagination is just lacking, but I just can't see any scenario where this would work without feeling forced at best, or completely jumping the shark at worst.

Wow.. This really isn't that bad of an idea! Don't want any hate...

I mean think, City names after the US, Thats not a coincidence just to be appealing to younger audiences. Equestria probably was inspired by the United States. I might point out though, To the east of America is Eurasia, Where the Myth of Griffins were made, and on the 300 DPI Map of Equestria To the east and Arrow Points and says "Yonder to Griffins". Just saying. Also alot of the Cities named after american cities (Not to mention Neighagra Falls) are in their appropriate spots.

PS: If you're going to disprove this, Please supply Counter-Facts!

 

Agreeing with the other people, It would ruin the adorable factor, But it would still be watchable for me.

Humans were only introduced in the G1 series so girls could have characters to identify with, a clever marketing ploy. So no, I say keep it limited to ponies and other creatures.

Hmm.. This idea is okay but humans might ruin the fun in MLP.

 

Equestria doesn't need humans trying to capture the ponies and use them as pack mules.

 

Again, good idea but I think it's best to keep the show limited to just creatures and ponies.
