So, I noticed that Feld0 is very excited (judging by the fact that he has a website devoted to it) about Nintendo's newest gizmo that they're releasing later this year. But when they introduced it at E3, they really didn't seem to explain what it does.......maybe I missed something? I honestly have no idea what the hoof this thing's going to be able to do......

Heheheheheheheheheheh!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, especially to Nintendo fans like Feld0 (please don't smite me down oh mighty Feld0 for anything I say that you find offensive!!!!! ^_^ ). You are by no means the only pony in that boat Red; a large amount of people in the gaming community, including even Nintendo fans, still do not know a lot about the Wii U. Heck, until E3 this year, people didn't even know what the console looked like, and frankly, I myself still am not sure (although to be fair I didn't really watch Nintendo's conference). Honestly the Wii U is a confusing little gadget; Nintendo's trying to sell it as the beginning of the 8th generation of consoles, but critics and consumers alike seem very hesitant to describe it as such at this point. Despite the fact that the controller itself looks to be an advanced and interesting gadget, the graphics are just barely catching up to current-gen graphics, Nintendo's only just now expanding to third-party developers that Microsoft and Sony have worked with for years (and even releasing games that already came out on the Xbox 360 and PS3!), and it still doesn't sound like Nintendo has a very good online system set-up, which just blows my mind considering how important online gaming has become to the entire industry! Don't get me wrong, despite the fact that I'm an Xbox 360 owner, I'm not rooting against Nintendo or anything; it's just, realistically, this is going to be a very hard sell with many consumers. The Wii U is certainly not the beginning of the 8th generation of consoles, and it will most likely not sell like hotcakes as the Wii did, and you know why? It has nothing at all to do with the system itself; it has everything to do with the fact that it will be more than double the price that the Wii was when it released, and as such, realistically, there is simply no way that all of the casual (and I mean very, very casual) gamers that bought a Wii will buy a Wii U as well, simply for economic reasons. I'm very interested to see how its launch goes, as well as learn more details about the system itself. I guess all I can say is, best of luck Nintendo; hope this business gamble pays off! :)
