private Need for Heroes!

Maven rolled her eyes and played a calming song on the flute she picked behind the desk. The atmosphere grew calmer and it would take a very strong-willed pony to break it. She then said, "Remain calm and exit the building. We can talk more there." She gestures to the door.

 

Wits followed, looking up and down as he examined the pony.

 

"I'm Wits End," he said. "I'm here on Celestia's order. Excuse me if I'm not fully briefed on the situation." He kept pace with her, making sure the other pony wasn't too far behind. "I need to contact the police of chief. I'm here about the vigilante problem. There seems to be large trace amounts of dark magic in the air. What is the reason for this?" He asked a lot of questions, trying to get as much information on the situation as he could, so as to decide his next move.

"I prefer the term hero, or at least police-co-worker," she grumbles, brushing some dirt of her suit, "I didn't ask to be gifted; I was experimented on. And then the scientist had me play a song and wipe their own minds. So I have to figure my life out myself. The large traces of dark energy are probably all the demons breaking through the Veil thing. The last I saw of Captain Nightfall, he was headed to an Asylum to take care of it." She played a happy tune absent mindedly.

 

(Music Maven's ability; When she plays an instrument, her songs influence the emotions and habits of ponies around her, depending on the song and the volume/energy/intensity. She is currently the only especially active hero, since I have no idea where SilverHeart is.)

Cherry Blossom was still waiting outside for the mare to come out. It was starting to get cold so she tried wrapping her wings around herself to stay warm. "Why is she taking so long?" She thought to herself as she shivered down to her backlegs and tail.

Maven figures the detective is set information-wise and heads outside to comfort the mare. "Hi, I'm known as Maven," she says in a comforting tone, "What's your name, and why did you come to the police station? Is there a problem, or is it something else. I got a few ponies who may need help in the near future, but I might have time for a quick job."

Cherry Blossom shrieked when the mare came by, but she quickly recovered from it and turned to her. "Well um... my name is C-Cherry Blossom and I-I would like to join the police force, if you wouldn't mind." She replied in a soft tone, not trying to make any direct eye contact.

Her gaze softened. She wasn't really sure how this pony would fare in the force, but it was true that, at this point, they couldn't really afford to turn ponies away. Still... "Why would you want to join the force? There's plenty of mean, nasty, angry ponies, and your job is to assertively apprehend them. If you think you can do that, I'll lead you to Captain Nightfall. Otherwise, there are plenty of clinics and firehouses in need of volunteers."

Cherry Blossom gulped and turned to the direction of Maven with a weak, but determined look. "Because I don't want to be afraid anymore..." She replied as she her stomach churned after Maven's description of criminals. "I just believe this city can be molded to a better place." Cherry Blossom added as she turned away again.

Maven gets around in front of her and tilts her chin up with her hoof. "Hey, chin up, eyes assertive. You're going to be a cop, not a slave," she jokes. She doesn't really know why, but she likes this pony. She drops her hoof; "Show Equestrians your beautiful eyes and assertiveness!"

 

(I feel like making Maven bi. This is happening more frequently *Shrug* I'll only do it if you're okay with it though.)

"I-I guess you're right..." Cherry Blossom replied as she turned to the mare. "I don't think you've told me your name yet." She added as she was still freezing from the cold. She just wanted to get inside somewhere warm at the moment, preferably a lounge or a cafe.

 

((OOC: Well my rules aren't applying to sexuality, so knock yourself out, but don't really knock yourself out. Though I have to sleep in a few minutes so I'm giving control to Dawnstar.))

Wits began to absent-mindedly scan her aura, observing the differences in the usual pony's and hers, trying to decide what made her special abilities unique. "Are you officially allied or affiliated with the police force?"

 

He considered the statement about the rift. "Cross-dimensional rift? Sounds like my area of expertise. I will need to be taken there, please. By the authority of Celestia, if it makes you feel any better."

She nodded to the detective, "Yes, Nightfall and I reached that agreement a while back; however I'm not on the police force, so I can't really make her official. My... Title is the Music Maven, but most people just call me Maven." She turns to Cherry Blossom, "You're kinda cute," then coughs, "Asylum's this way." Why did I just say that...? I feel... Weird.

 

(Fell asleep next to my phone lol. Pro'lly be goin' back to bed.)

"Um, okay?" Cherry Blossom as she tried to turn away; her face turned red. "What was that all about? Was she serious?!" Cherry Blossom thought as her stomach churned even more. Jack eyed the black, studded cloak that Gama wore. "That robe! You are one of the elite assassins of the..."

 

"... One of the elite assassins for the king of Demon world's fifth territory. I'm surprised that you knew that, most demons don't know of our order."

 

Jack glanced at Den and Nightfall. "Be careful. Even the weakest of this order are much stronger than the last demons we fought."

 

"Oh, joy, just what we need... a stronger demon to block our way."

Nightfall rolled his eyes.

"Listen up, demon. I would kindly ask you to get out of the way. I don't care who you are, just step aside so you and your 'honor' don't get scratch."

 

((OOC: Remember the first encounter with the robot? What happened to Nightfall? If you don't mind, when/if the battle gets rough, he'll use it again...))

Gama replied with a sullen, rusty voice, "I am very sorry, but I cannot do that. You believe us to crave nothing but death, yes? I understand why you think that, as that is all you have seen us bring. However, each of us fights for something more fulfilling, we have ambitions just like you. Hirue fell in love with your swamps and wished to take them for himself. Risho wanted to use your population for the demon slave trade. Risho's brother was a bit more simple, all he wanted was the bunnies. Those rodents can't survive in demon world, and he loves to feel soft things. It is unfortunate that his brother had to influence him so greatly. Butajiri wants his name to be painted in legend. And I..." He gazed his cloaked head toward the sky. "I want your light. I believe you call it the sun, yes? We have no such thing in the Demon World. For centuries I have done my job of killing, and I have done it well. But recently I caught a glimpse of your light and thought, 'Why can I not have this? Have I not earned that which you take for granted?' But I do not wish to kill you. I know that my actions will bring about war, but have you ever wondered why the demons wish to cross the Vale so badly? The Demon world is a putrid place, not fit for anyone to live in. We each fight for the survival of our species, and because of that, I relate to you and do not wish for you to be dead. I will only fight if you intrude on our plan further. You may leave now and avoid pointless bloodshed."

"Right, and I can only imagine that if you do get what you want, this world will turn into another Demon world, full of darkness and death. I'm not going to let that happen."

Nightfall got ready to fight, wings outspread. He remembered the hospital incident, and tried to remember what made him strong during that fight.

"A noble cause, you are worthy to fight an opponent who does not hide behind a cloak." Gama grabbed the top of his cloaks hood and pulled the robe off of his body. He looked a lot like Risho. He had the same posture and greenish blue skin. in place of his hair he had an orange bandana. he wore no shirt, on his legs he had an orange cloth buckled around his waist and a pair of sandals on his feet with rags wrapped up his legs. "I am Gama, The Master of Disguise."

"Good for you. As I said to your demon friends, I don't care for a name. I just care that you get out and don't screw up this world as much as the Demon world has been screwed up. So, for the final time, get out of our way, and leave."

Nightfall got ready to fight. He was sure there was going to be one. He started collecting his demon's energy and storing it for the sudden outburst like he had used in the hospital.

 

((OOC: If you have every played Metroid Prime III: Corruption, what Nightfall does is hang in the air and use energy like Samus uses phazon in corruption mode.))

"Tell me, you three. When you hear of makeup, what is the first thing that comes to your mind?" Gama asked as he pulled two paint brushes from his belt, "Female ponies, no doubt. Your race does have a way of diluting everything you touch. Long before you ponies began to cover yourselves with cosmetics, the Demon World had a much more practical application for makeup." He began to paint long, symmetrical streaks on his body. He even painted his lips a dark shade of blue.

 

"That is interesting." Said Jack, "His demon energy has increased greatly, but it does not reach far from his body, close quarters combat is obviously his strong suit."

[Nightfall 3,950]

"Power, huh? So it's true... you demons only think of ways to get more power... you are much like the politicians of this world."

Nightfall prepared his wings, getting ready to jump into the air.

"I've given you enough warnings, demon. If you won't move, then you must face your death."

Nightfall jumped into the air and closed his eyes, gaining an appearance like he had at the hospital incident, the only difference being two barrel-like things hanging in the air on either side of him.

"Now, move, or die."

His voice sounded distorted and like it was the voice of a thousand tongues.

Sapphire leanned next to Jack, "It's like he goes super-sayin in Pony Ball Z, except you know how they get a massive power boost? He gets a medium one, and then burns himself out. Atleast, that was what it was like before the incedant." She looked up at the birds cawing, looked confused, and then openned her eyes wide and smiled. She took out a brownie and leaned closer to Jack again, whispering, "Maven is coming."

 

Maven looked at the two ponies infront of her and sighed; she wasn't winning any favor here. "Alright ponies, lets go see Nightfall. Now, when we get to the Asylum, there's bound to be something dangerous," she mumbles about how there always is when Jack's around, "So we'll approach cautiously. got it?" Without waiting for an answer, she spun around and started walking to the Asylum, quickly.

"Gladly" Gama ran from the position that he was standing in with such speed that he couldn't be seen until he stopped moving. He landed behind Jack with his paint bruises in hand. Jack looked down at his hoofs. There was a black circle around all four of his ankles. Jack was no longer able to move. I felt like he was being held in place by an invisible chain. "The Makeup of Chains." Gama said, "It feels like you have a brick of lead tied to each hoof, doesn't it?" He turned his attention to Nightfall.

"Oh um... Okay.", Cherry Blossom replied as she hovered to the direction of Maven to follow right behind her. She was feeling nervous about going to an asylum, but she never even noticed Manehattan even had an asylum to begin with. It must have been the sudden amount of crime in the city.

Sapphire smudged two of the circles around his feet so that they were broken, and the used it to paint lines across her face, "This is fun," she said happily, bouncing up and down, "Ooo, I know, you can use make up to make me look like a brownie! PLease please pleeeeeeease?"

 

Maven looked back at Cherry Blossom, "The only stupid question is the one you don't ask," she stated, continuing to walk. She also continued humming. The birds seemed to be following her.

The Circles were still painted onto Jack's legs. "Give my magic its credit," Said Gama, "That seal is connected to Jack's skin. It cannot be removed until it wears off, and that will take many hours." He jumped at Sapphire and tried to paint the circle on her front left hoof.

"W-What? But I didn't even ask a question in the first place!" She frowned at Maven, but she still wanted to be a police officer so she followed behind. She noticed some birds were seemingly attracted to Maven, either that or her humming. "So uh, what's going on in there? she asked.
