She nodded and smiled, "Then stay right here, and let me go get her," she said, winking. "Oh, and try not to look like you absorbed a demon. If though you did, she say's it's unbecoming of you." Delphina jestered for him to take a seat in one of the chairs and went out a back door. About 10 minutes later, she came back as The Music Maven, costumed up, trotting towards Nightfall. She taps his chest where there was a small scar.

 

"Um... Maven, listen... I can explain... Please don't be upset or anything..."

Nightfall felt nervous, and he blushed when she tabbed the scar. He felt as if she wouldn't approve of this demon business, and he never did like making his friends uncomfortable or nervous.

Hahahahaha. I wouldn't do that if I were you. There are little wires on the C4 that sense vibrations, if somepony tries to take them down... Boom. the only way is to blow this place sky high and build a new station. He said, still smirking. I dont know what your doing... and I dont like it. Just trust me. Butajiri is sure to fail, the princesses will find out and stop it. No pony will suspect what I am planning... It may not be as good as awesome demons flying around and causing havoc, But its still good. They thought.

Three figures gathered outside of the theatre. All three of them were earth ponies. The two larger ones wore leather jackets, one was a sleeveless jacket and the other wasn't. The smallest of the three wore no jacket. He had greasy, combed back hair and a pair of sunglasses with circular lenses.

 

"Richest part of town. The new boss sure is smart, huh? Much better than workin' in the streets." Said the one in the sleepless jacket.

Den shrugged, "You prison is more solid than any other place then. You break out, you die." He walked outside,leaving Windward cuffed in the police station, "Captain," he says into the radio, "The station is rigged to blow; the pony responsible is in the holding cell. Vibrations will apparently set off the bombs. How copy?"

 

Maven rolled her eyes and sighed, "I guess the new you is- I ever mention how I'd like a radio?" She asked when his went off.

[Nightfall 3,950]

"Uh... Hang on, Maven."

Nightfall took out his radio.

"Badly damaged, but not feeling a thing. At the concert hall with Maven. Running on a Demond's power. Leave the station and come here if you need to. Over."

He put his radio back. He seemed a bit red.

"I think I can get you a radio, if you want.. But you were going to say something?"

She shrugged, "Must've forgot." She smiled, even though she knew exactly what she would've said. She winked at him, "Your mare is coming, so you should get your face to 'less red' so she'll see contrast," she bumped him with her flank and watched the door where Den's feminine side burst through the door and hugged Nightfall. "Den says demons hurt a lot. He says that they're evil, but ponies can control them and be good to. Why didn't you radio before excepting it? I coulda been there!" She says, breaking the hug and giving him 'the look.'

The two ponies in jackets followed Den into the Concert Hall. The third stayed behind. The one with the sleeveless jacket tapped Den on the shoulder as she hugged Nightfall.

 

"Hey sis, you got any money?" He said in a rough voice.

 

"Ya see, we've lost our wallets, and we need to call our moms." Said the other.

 

"You remember how the golden rule works, don't ya? Just give us all the money you ave and we'll be on our way!"

Sapphire looked at them, "I'm a cop, boys. NOT a mark, I think they're called. Although, the night in the rigged-to-blow jail house might be in order for ruffians. What do you think, Captain? Shall we throw some prisoners in the station?" She smiles menacingly, hating herself the whole time. She was really getting sick of bad people, and these ponies obviously weren't telling the truth.

"Sorry sis, but the police have no authority in this city any more." The first thug said. He pulled something out of his Jacket's pocket and held it to his chest.

 

"Of course there's a lot of different ways to pay." Said the second, "Maybe you have other uses. Our boss could use an officer's insight."

[Nightfall 3,950]

Nightfall was both confused and very nervous. First, there were two mares staring at him expecting an answer. Second, one of them was his marefriend and had just hugged him. Third, the other may have been just hitting on him. He blushed again.

"I, uh... Sorry, Sapphire. Honestly, I forgot about it."

Nightfall stepped up.

"First off, I don't like bullies. Second off, she's technically not an officer yet. And third off, you're under arrest for suspected robbery. Oh, and I'm still here, so I try to keep this city in order as best I can."

Nightfall pulled a pair of handcuffs from his saddlebag.

"Wrong move!" The thug with the sleeveless jacket moved his hoof from his chest showing that he was holding a knife to his chest. "We don't allow cops in our territory!" He lunged at Nightfall with the concealed blade.

 

The third thug was watching from the now opened front door.

Nightfall didn't think there was time to dive, but he tried anyway. Surprisingly, he ended up out of harms' way with time to spare. He thank his choice for getting the extra power, and opened his wings, and flapped them quickly as he charged the thugs, attempting to both scare them and build up speed.

Nightfall turned after scaring the other two and faced this new pony. He seemed like the sort who believed in demons and... No... Maybe...

"Stand down! There is a cell in the prison with your name on it! I suggest you comply and get there fast!"

Sapphire and Maven flanked Nightfall, Maven with a flute to her lips and Sapphire with an off-ish look at Nightfall. Sapphire could definately tell he had changed, and she wasn't sure about it yet. Plus there was one thing she had to settle, "I am too a cop! I swore the oath and everything! Plus, I have a uniform, so there!"

"I'm sorry about my friends. They are very rude, aren't they?" the third thug said. The skin on his body ripped and fell off in shreds. underneath his skin was a leathery, green skin like that of a toad. His shape changed, replacing each leg with two tentacles. His torso turned upright and an enormous mouth opened on his chest. Two claws sprouted from his shoulder sockets with a small mouth in each palm. His mouth was replaced by a small green trunk with a suction like opening at the end. "I am Hirue. The Inlet of Leaches."

 

One of the thugs scurried to the far wall. "Holy shit! The new boss is an octopus thing!" He cried.

Nightfall wasn't happy; hell, he was pissed. If he could find who would make these demons come to Equestria...

"Oh, and as soon as your tale is down, get out of here! Scram back through the Vale!"

Sapphire sighed, "Are you sure Den? I know you can take a hit, but you don't have my energy... Fine! I get the point!" She shivered and became a he, "Hi fella. I've gotten burned, bruisede, cut, bleed out, gone into shock, and gotten head trama in service to my city. You don't bother me, demon," he snarles.

 

Mave quickly goes into her list of songs, and then settles for the friendly demon song. What she didn't sing to Nightfall was the end, the part where the demon and the colt died together, and became one pony. That one pony was rumorred to be in the Everfree, helping ponies find their way back. The problem was nopony rememberd him, ever. Poor brother... She began to play her flute.

"Why are you being so short with me?" Hirue responded with his own parody of sorrow, "Can't you think of someone other than yourself? I'm hurt, so very, very hurt." He laid his claws to his side and sighed, "I'm so sorry, but I was sent to bring back your heat and spine. Don't take this personally..." He jumped at Nightfall with his claws ready and all four mouths opened. "... I'm just doing my job!"

Den jumpped up and hit him in the torso area, around the tentacles. He hit him hard enough to send a normal (D class) pony of course, variably. Ussually atgainst a nearby wall. He landed and jumped back, while Maven continued to play her song. He shook a hoof, That colt is made of something tough.

"Why are you being so short with me?" Hirue responded with his own parody of sorrow, "Can't you think of someone other than yourself? I'm hurt, so very, very hurt." He laid his claws to his side and sighed, "I'm so sorry, but I was sent to bring back your heat and spine. Don't take this personally..." He jumped at Nightfall with his claws ready and all four mouths opened. "... I'm just doing my job!"

 

"I've got my spine!"

"I've got my Orange Crush.!"

Nightfall prepared to go deep in the belly of the beast, for after all, isn't that how most monsters are killed; from the inside out?

"And I take all attempts on my life personally!"

He charged as Den made his move. And maybe this time, his plan would work.

Hirue flailed in the air as he was hit by Den, falling to the ground and missing his target. He met Nightfall's charge by placing one claw on each shoulder, but Nightfall was much stronger than he expected, and he went off balance, let go of Nightfall, and leaned backwards.

Maven took her flute and smashed it in his face hard enough to brake it, shrugging and taking out a harmonica from one of her hidden puches. She began to play an around-the-campfire, old style comedy movie peice on the harmonica.

 

Den had to cover his mouth from the laught that manged to escape when she slamed the flute in his face. The peice afterwords was priceless, as well. He moved up next to Nightfall.

Nightfall charged again, this time with the purpose of knocked the demon into the wall or knocking him out. Afterwards, he would take care of him somehow...

"Maven! Get back! And I need Sapphire!"

He ran faster and faster. The distance was short, but it seemed so long, and he felt like his speed was increasing faster than possible.

Den nodded; the change was fast, starting from the tip of the nose and ending at his tail tip. She flapped her wings hard to keep pace with him. When they got there, she dove for his legs, getting under them in anticipation for Nightfall to knock into him again. Maven stepped back.
