When do ponies eat?

When do ponies eat, once or twice you can see them eating Applejack's food or party food and twilight did not even eat her sandwich. Pinkie pie can eat a cake in one bite. But they don't eat very often.

They most likely eat when not on an episode, but that still makes them eat very rarely, only person I know who eats A LOT is Spike probably.

There is no need to focus on them eating in the show, so its left to the viewer to speculate when they could be off eating. There are several restaurants in ponyville and there is ofcourse sugar-cube corner, so ponies must eat.

Appearently they eat whenever they go pickniking, although they barely eat any substance.

They seem to have a very strong will to get less fat, because they don't eat and they have alot of energy to gallop around and work.

tbh i'm not really sure when they eat, they do seem to eat every episode or two but im guessing they also eat within the week as well

 

But judgeing how they seem to be quite like human's in there day i think they probably eat 3 time's a day (unless they are on an expedition or being stressed out like in a episode) which is when they eat less.

Who would want to watch them eating? That would be such a terribly boring scene. However, in regards to your question, I'm sure they eat just like we do, with three primary meals, and snacks throughout the day.

Ponies are just an allegory for humans. They share all our strengths and weaknesses.

Ponies eat at breakfast lunch and dinner, They enjoy snacks,

 

In a 22 minute episode, the writers will focus on the action, not on the mundane.

 

When you watch a James Bond movie, no sees every meal he takes. We just assume he eats on a regular schedule. Likewise we don't need to see 007 shave every morning, or tie his shoes.

 

Telling a good story is everything. Minutia is a waste. If in doubt assume ponies are just like people, because thats what they are. Celestia is the wise mother figure. Luna is the older troubled teen sister (she did a 1000 years in juvie-hall).The show was origionally intended for girls and the mane six are for them to identify with (in spite of their holding jobs and owning property, etc). We really don't need to see the mundane details of their lives, do we?

Well wen an episode is based on one or two ponies the others can be doing anything and they dont show you everything. Like you don't want to see them sleeping or eating for too long because it becomes too boring.
