My year with the Bronies, and moving towards the future...

Hello there, My name is Captain Marvelous... or you may even call be by my real name, Ben.

 

I guess I should start off by telling a little bit about myself.

 

I am a person that had graduated from high school in 2009, Finding a job in this economy hasn't been the easiest time of my life, and even now, I don't think any of my applications or resumes have even looked over once. *sigh*

 

Now, myself, I am a person that wishes to be a manga artist... and, there is actually a magazine that will actually give Americans a chance to make manga... but my problem was... my motivation was totally destroyed to do it...

 

now don't get me wrong, the stories were there, trust me the stories were there alright... but the drawing part...I just couldn't bring myself to draw...

 

It wasn't the shining point of my life, I admit.

 

So now, I suppose it's time for me to talk about how exactly I came across this "magic"

 

I'm apart of of a site called HenshinJusticeUlimited, basically its a forum site for fans of shows suchs as Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, and Ultraman.

 

One day I saw that a couple of people had Pony avatars... I didn't pay no mind to it, on another site, people made bets of changing avatars... so I thought those guys just lost, that's all.

 

But a couple more people started to gain Pony avatars, felt kind of strange.

 

so one day I went to the anime/manga/comics/cartoon section, and saw that a MLP FiM thread was created and stickied, don't think about it... it's pretty much weird

 

So I decided to look up on it... the only thing fannon wise I learned of it at the time is that RD was the lesbian pony lol

 

First episode I saw on the hub was the new episode of "Green is not your color"

 

Saw it, I thought it was okay...decided to go onto youtube and watch other episodes.

 

So I caught up on the other episodes... cause I pretty much have no life.

 

I decided it wasn't bad... It was cute, I could easily see what others thought of it, good and bad. Though, didn't catch my attention as the other shows I was watching at the time, if it was on, I wouldn't mind watching it.

 

So I decided to look around the fanbase, to see what kind of stuff went on. The Bronies vs Haters flame wars were always the best to hear/read/watch... does that make me a bad person.

 

So I eventually found Equestria Daily, and found fanfics... also found out the importance of Derpy, then I eventually found other background characters. I think it helped me to decide to watch Doctor Who, though I'm not entirely sure though.

 

The show even made me spawn a fanfic... though that was mostly because the show I liked would really play well into the FiM world

 

Found this site because someone spammed this site on a pokemon site.

 

So I decided to sign up here, only intending to be a passing by non-brony friendly face... and I swore that I would remember that... but as luck would have it... I didn't remember.

 

You guys have been really fun, and despite all my randomness, and me talking about being a non-brony, you guys really did welcome me. Even though I don't even spend a lot of time in the main part of the site, you do seem to try to remember me... and for that, that makes me happy.

 

I find this site to be my # 2 spot in my history

 

and as I hung around with this interesting fanbase, I couldn't help but notice all of the interesting stuff the bronies could come up with: be it PMVs, music, flash animation, custom figurines(really 4000 dollars), or just the meet ups... I can tell you guys really put the passion into everything you do for eachother.

 

Though I may have a weird reason for loving some of the other stuff: the vs haters war, the smell of burning fanfics when canon hits, or just all the stupid comments on R34 images (they make me laugh) I will say, I had fun being just watching over the growing community.

 

 

I suppose my life has changed since before ponies, nothing much has really changed, but the fanbase has made something different. I'm writing fanfics, and doing music videos again. Sure it's not much, but something to get me active again, every little detail counts.

 

Just like my stories I have for my comics, the stories I have for these ponies are limitless, just thanks to all the different types of fics that are out there... yes I'm even looking at you Cupcakes and Clopfics...

 

When all is set and done, I want to create one fanfic, as a tribute to how much you guys have entertain me oh so much. You guys, and the whole brony community as a whole, are an irreplaceable Treasure... one which I would let no one ever take away from us.

 

I suppose you're wondering why I wrote all of this, call me cheesy but it was because of this video.

So yes, for 2012, I want you guys to make this the year of Friendship... it's magic like that, that I know that this world can and will be a better place for the next generation It's true, I may not truly understand the reason for FiM fans, but I know what true passion and dedication is.

 

So in the end, I have this to say:

 

I do not know how long I'm going to stay here, I do not know when I will pass along. I don't even know how long everything will last. But I know one thing: That when I do leave, I will not have to worry about this place, I know it will continue to grow strong, with or with out a pirate as such as myself.

 

I know, that if I ever return, I will probably be welcomed here just as warmly, if not even warmer then when I first signed on.

 

It's like Grandma once said, "A bond is a deep connection that can never be broken. Even if apart, heart and heart are still connected.

I haven't been here long, so I don't know ya too well, but well said Cap'n. It doesn't matter if you're a brony or not, as long as you see past all the hate and see the show for what it is, that's what matters. As they say "haters gonna hate."
