  1. I honestly like it more when robots look like robots. When they're too humanoid, it's a bit creepy to me. But then again, I like cute robots, so yeah.
  2. My favorite Pokemon is my avatar! Or, if my avatar isn't a Pokemon--its Chespin! Second favorite is Shinx!
  3. Oops, my bad. It was with the images of the Kalos starters, and I haven't watched the anime in a while, so yeah.... I'll probably be watching the XY Preview though, just to see what Pokemon Ash ends up getting. I kinda hope he gets Chespin, but who knows? I do like Ash's new design though. I never understood why he got so much hate, I like him. Thanks for the correction though! I'll remove that part from my post.
  4. Anyone excited for the X/Y Anime? Apparently, Cartoon Network will be showing the new Genesect movie on October 19th, after that, they'll show the first two episodes from the new X/Y series as a sneak peek! Here's some official artwork for you to devour, open the spoilers to see them. Logo: Chespin: Fennekin: Froakie:
  5. For anyone interested, the official press release is in the Spoiler below. Now for my opinions. I'm still sticking with Chespin, will prbably get Squirtle but won't end up using him for the main game. I'm still pretty meh about the whole Mega thing, but who knows, that might change as I play through the game. I will definately be getting Bank, I have a lot of Pokemon I want to transfer from Black 2, and it would be useful for keeping the Pokemon I really like safe. You never know what will happen to the game cards or the 3DS itself! EDIT: I should note that the Limited Edition 3DS' DO NOT come with X or Y. You will still have to buy them seperately.
  6. News from the 9/4/2013 Nintendo Direct Ok, here goes. -Pokemon Bank Pokemon Bank is an online service that allows you to store Pokemon in the cloud. It has 100 boxes, more than what X and Y will offer. It will be availible as a download on eShop and there will be an annual fee. -Poke Transporter Poke Transporter is an addon to Bank that allows you to transfer Pokemon from Black, White, Black 2, and White 2. When these cards are inserted in the 3DS, you will be allowed to transfer the Pokemon within to Pokemon Bank, then from there to X and/or Y. -Starter Choices. At the begining of the game, you will get the choice of Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie from your friend. However, after you meet the Professor, you'll get the choice of Bulbasuar, Charmander, and Squirtle. -Mega Evolutions Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard, and Mega Blastoise were revealed. Mega evolutions can only occur when the Trainer holds a Mega Ring, a Black Bracelet, and the Pokemon is holding the Mega Stone. Further, you have to have a good bond with your Pokemon in order to trigger the evolution in battle. The Pokemon's appearnace changes, and it becomes stronger, but there are many more mysteries surrounding it. -Special Edition 3DS' Finally, the Special Edition blue and red 3DS XLs will be coming to North America and Europe on September 27th. More info can be found on the official Pokemon Website over time. Link to the Driect is here: http://www.nintendo.com/nintendo-direct/archive/09-04-2013/

Except Guam & Saipan SUBJECT TO RULES So, whatever that all means, have at it EDIT: I guess its for Origin users that want to buy a EA Sports game. It gets you $10 off a purchase. List of games here: https://www.origin.com/en-us/store/browse?q=EASportsMcDonalds#60
  8. I knida just chose X because I like Blue more than red, haha. I never really cared much for legendaries though, that's just me. Oh yeah: I'm sooo happy right now! Now I just need to get another 3DS
  9. Nobody really knows for sure yet, but there are going to be people who don't use Amie at all, so it wouldn't be fair for Tournaments anyway. I'm sure there will be options in PvP matches that will allow it's use though, like the Wonder Launcher. I'm thinking it will to a degree. If your Pokemon trusts and loves you, then it will try harder in battle to make you proud. That's probably where some of the lines like "Chespin is in a bit of a pinch. It looks like it might cry..." come from, Chespin, or whoever it is, isn't sad because it's getting hurt, it's sad because it feels like its failing you. Do Pokemon REALLY get hurt when they're battling? If they do, why would they want to battle in the first place? Certainly looks cool, I'll definately be using Amie. I wonder though, what if Amie is actually a critical point of the game? We're talking about genetics and DNA, what if you neglect to feed your Pokemon, will its health diminish, will it die? It seems a bit dark, but Pokemon has gone MUCH deeper, I'm sure Amie isn't there just because it is, there's more to it than that. I'm happy the bottom screen will show your Pokemon though, they might not be walking with you, but Chespin rolling around is adorable, and I'm sure several hours of my play time will just be me watching him, lol! I'm getting a 3DS in Septemer. I got my preorder in already. Gonna get it after work on Oct 12, I work until 1 AM, so I can just go to Electronics and pick it up then I'll be up all night! I really don't know what version I'm getting though.... I know I want Chespin, but in X or Y...?
  10. Ok, more Amie news thanks to Serebii: 3 Stats: Friendliness, Hunger, and Play. Friendliness is self-explanatory, as is Hunger. Play is how much you tend to play with your Pokemon. Now, what does this affect? Well, remember my last post(s)? In battle text and effects change depending on how you take care of your Pokemon. For example, if it doesn't like you so much, the text might read "What will Chespin do?" but if it likes you, "Chespin is awaitng Kapi's directions..." FURTHERMORE, the Critical Hit ratio is higher, as well as evaisveness. If your Pokemon loves you as a Trainer, it will work harder in battles for you. Otherwise, it's the same experience as previous games. Finally, a Pokemon has a better chance of healing itself from Paralisys, and has a better chance of enduring hits. That's why in the Wi-Fi demos, some Pokemon, while hit with Super Effective moves, were better able to endure the hit. Also, they're messy eaters. Might want to keep some Bounty in your bag. Image from Serebii. The only thing that's unclear is whether or not these will work in online battles. Since not everyone is going to take part in Amie, it would seem kind of weird to allow the improvements to work in tournaments and online battles, but we'll see.
  11. Yeah, some older footage actually had "What will <Pokemon> do?" I think there was one screencap that had the new "Awaiting Directions" line, but it wasn't until the demos we really got to see it. I hate when I do that in the Chao Garden, it makes me feel bad. It's going to be even worse on Amie, so many accidental taps GAH. I know they appear on the bottom screen during game play. They might not walk with you but they still interact in a way, Fennekin takes a nap, Froakie bounces around, and Chespin rolls around (Not the "Spindash" kind of roll) so it's still something. I do wonder what the music note button in amie does though. People have said it oesn't work in the demo. It'd be cool if you could hum a song to your Pokemon and watch it try to mimic you. Oh, I thought of something too. I think it would be cool if you could cheer up your Pokemon during battle. Like when the text "Chespin is in a bit of a pinch. It looks like it might cry," appears, you could hold the R button and say something encouraging, or smile at the camera, and it will make the Pokemon happier, it would still be at ciritcal health, but it'd be a neat way of interacting with them while in battle.
  12. I don't know for sure that the text differs, I can only assume it's based on happiness and personality (Why would Arceus cry?) It would be a nice touch though. I know I saw a fainting animation for Chespin, it looked like he was trying to run away, but "trips," and falls before being returned to the ball. I think Pikachu just fell over, with no effect, so I don't know if ALL Pokemon are getting it, or just some.. hopefully all though. One other thing, In one of the demos, they showed off playing with Chespin in Amie. The person tapped Chespin, and it counted as a "hit." If you remember Sonic Adventures Chao Gardens, it's like pressing the X button when the windows shows "Attack" instead of "Pick Up," or "Pet." So be careful not to Tap your Pokemon, lol.
  13. Here's a bit more for everyone: -Animations It seems like some Pokemon have fainting animations, though some just fall to the ground, others may do something quirky before falling over, it's a nice touch I guess. Further, the game does rely on manipulating the models in many cases, for example, Chespin's Wood Hammer at the PGS, which merely rotated Chespin before showing the attack animation. -Battle Differences If you have a strong bond with your Pokemon, battles will play out differently. This was shown at the PGS, but now at Gamescom as well, where we can actually read the text. Here are several dialog changes: (In the video I linked, I'm starting at 1:51 "Go on, Chespin! I know you can do it!" "Chespin is awaiting Xavier's directions..." "Chespin is in a bit of a pinch. It looks like it might cry..." "Come back, Chespin! You did great out there!" So yeah, if you build a bond with your Pokemon and make it happy, you'll get a different battle experience. Also, the Pokemon will turn to look at you occasionally, like before issuing commands, or when using an item. It's a really neat touch.
  14. It's being sent at Level 10, so I doubt it will be too late into the game. Either, 1)They're keeping Mystery Gift, or 2) It'll be a Global Link distribution, and I don't think you'll have to get too far in order to access GL. EDIT: It'll be availible by "Nintendo Network," so probably through Mystery Gift. So if you don't look at Bulbapedia, you won't know that Japan gets a special artbook for X & Y preorders. The actual link is here, but basically, if you pre-order BOTH X and Y you get this book that has pictrues from the games' development. I don't know if it's actually been released yet, I'm trying to look for scans or an actual copy, but the cover artwork has been released, check the spoiler. Ok, so on the X&Y website is a bit more detail about Mega evos. The item screen for the Blazikenite reads: "One variety of the mysterious Mega Stones. Have Blziken hold it, and this stone will enable it to Mega Evolve during battle." This means that Torchic MUST evolve into Blaziken before it will transform, HOWEVER, if you don't get Torchic in the event, you can't get the Blazikenite. So basically, the Pokemon must be evolved to wherever before it can transfer (eg, Mareep can't go mega until it evolves to Ampharos, while Absol can go Mega at any time.) Also, if you can't read between the lines, the Shiny Creation Trio event kinda confirms transferring will be possible. It ISN'T official yet, but why do an event if you won't be able to transfer?
  15. I've also read that you may get the stone for your Starter after beating Korrinna, and that they'll act as the "tutorial" for mega evolutions. That is, if all of them get Mega to begin with... BTW, the stats of the Torchic being distributed:
  16. You spin me right round, baby, right round, like a record baby, right round, round, round. Since the 3DS and the PokeWalker work on the same technology, you should be able to pull this off with a 3DS too! Just get a good brand of duct tape!
  17. Sorry, but I really don't like Shadow the Hedgehog. I've played 06, and the worst part of it was the story, I HATED it. Seriously, I hated the story of 06, with the sole exception of Mephilies doing something in one minute that Ronutnik couldn't do for 15 years. The only other thing is the loading times, while terrible, I can be very patient. I've only encountered a handful of glitches, really no more than any other 3D game. Shadow, meh, I don't like the gameplay, I don't like the mechanics, I don't like the story--the only thing I like about it is the music, most Sonic fans can agree on one thing, even if the game blows, the music is awesome. Here's how I see it, see when StH came out, they already had a game for the consoles it was released on (Sonic Heroes) while they didn't have any games for the PS3 or 360. They had to start fresh, of course things don't always work out the first time through. StH really din't have an excuse, there was a SOLID game behind it, good graphics, story, and gameplay. To me, StH was hacked together, it just doesn't "work" for me, where 06 might have glitches and bugs, it still "feels" like a Sonic game to me. It was still enjoyble, and I had a good time playing it. Annoying, sure, but so is Omochao, and I don't hate him...
  18. That's why I never really bothered with the Global Battle Union in B/B2. I wouldn't say everyone does this--that's not true, but I've had my fair share. I prefer to play casually. I'm nutty enough to go into a battle with a clear disadvantage, but I love using strategy, not strength. 2 months to go! I can't wait! I know what I'm nicknaming my Chespin now--Cappy! I was thinking something like "Chipper" but it seems a bit common. That might change though...
  19. I love Jolteon, maybe it's just because I like electric-type Pokemon, but Jolteon always seemed like the kind of Pokemon that would play tricks on people and laugh the night away. Oreon-- Heavy Weapons Guy: "That slaps me on the knee!"
  20. Hi, welcome to Sega Bo--- wait... Err... Someone said Sonic was MEANT to be 2D? Who here has played Sonic 4 Episode I? Anybody that has knows the physics were really screwed up in that game--sure, they used the Rush engine which doesn't translate well to a console, but that was a 2D game, and it wasn't up to par. Personally, I love all of the 3D Sonic games. Yeah, 06 had that cheesy storyline, and Unleashed had the Werehog, but they were still solid games and still fun to play. If you can't tolerate the load times in 06, then don't play Unleashed on PS2, you'll hate that one too Heroes was an amazing game for Sonic's first venture onto a non-Sega console. It was fun, challenging, and still kept up the pace. Sonic Advance was Ok, but I'd say Advance 2 was the best, it was a solid platformer, and worked well on the GBA. Not trying to bash anyone here, but not every game developer has a perfect streak, look at Rockstar, Valve, etc. There's certainly some games there you won't like either, it's hit and miss, simple. Logically, Sonic going 3D is just as bad as Mario, Pokemon, Metroid, GTA, and so on, going 3D.
  21. I'm definitely going for Chespin. Not only do I like its personality, but I think it'll be a lot of fun playing through the game, especially with Team Flare. We'll have a blatant disadvantage, but it will be so much fun! I usually go with the fire-type, except Chikorita in my first playthrough of Silver, so it'll be a great change. Besides, Fennekin and Froakie don't really "appeal" to me, don't get me wrong, I like them, I just seem to lean towards Chespin more. Here's where I go on a long rant about why I think Chespin isn't based on a mammal, but rather that its based on a Chesnut with mammalian features. I'm really liking all the new features too. The PSS looks amazing, and if rumor is true, some limits will be lifted (Like searching for Pokemon on GTS you haven't seen.) Oh, here's something neat. When they introduced Prof. Sycamore, they posted some screenshots of him too, look at this one: I circled it in the picture, but it's not hard to notice. The picture closest to the left is of Snivy and Servine, the one to the right seems to be Tepig. EDIT 7/25: Pokemon Global Link uploaded an image of the new version of GL. I've posted the image in the spoiler. And a bit of info about what you see in the picture:
  22. If true, I like the Starter's final types. I'm still picking Chespin, but it'll be even epicer. I never really cared about EV training, Strategy has always worked well for me (Except in online battles...). I'll stick to Eevee training. Dual Type attacks sound cool, adds a bit more into the mix. Eh, not really. I'm pretty sure Nintendo has gone on record to say that these are being put in to even up the field a bit. So, people who go out of their way to get the strongest Pokemon possible at the beginning of the game will have a huge disadvantage. Currently, you can use Power or Strategy. Let's say you have a Charmander, and you're fighting someone with a Mudkip. Charmander IS weak against Mudkip, but if Charmander is strong enough, it can take out Mudkip in one shot. Horde battles require you to think before acting. Plus, it IS a Wild battle, and it is France, so you should be able to run from it. ;P I do wonder about 2 things though... This is the Summary screen, look at the bottom, see the Ribbon in the icon? Why is that there, Ribbons weren't used in Gen 5, except for showing ribbons obtained by Gen IV Pokemon, and they hide that screen unless the Pokemon has a ribbon. Also, what's that Pentagon shape above the Ability title? It doesn't match the icons on B2, and it's centered instead of right aligned like the others. Are contests coming back?
  23. This, but also probably because Fire Type Pokemon are MUCH easier to find than an Ice type or Dragon type. Just my opinion, but I'd have to say it is easier fighting a Steel type than a Dragon Type, like for me, Jasmine was easy, Clair beat me at least twice, haha. But yeah, I think it's a silly idea, but Dragons are WAY too powerful! I wonder how it will work with some other Pokemon though, like Marill is Water/Fairy, but Azumarill is Water/Ice, so will it keep its existing typing, or will it change to be Water/Fairy too? Not that it's a big problem, since they're both super effective anyway, but still!
  24. Well, back in May, PokeBeach had an article from a "source" that provided quite a bit of info on X & Y. I think this is where most of the Fairy type speculation came in, here is the article. According to that, "Fairy will be a new type. It is weak to Poison and Steel, immune to Dragon, super effective against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting, and Fire and Psychic-type Pokemon take half damage from it." So, I'm betting this is what's going to be in the retail game. I think it's an odd type, but it changes the strategy up quite a bit, so I guess we'll see what happens, It'll certainly change some of my favorites, notably Azumarill, haha.
  25. Anybody watch the Pokemon X & Y E3 video? Watch it, srsly. (Yeah, the page title is Yoshi's New Island. I dunno why, maybe Yoshi is a new Pokemon??) Highlights:
