Finesthour 7,287 September 30, 2012 Share September 30, 2012 Be aware, there is a new skype virus going around. You will get a message like this from a user: Do NOT click on it. I don't know exactly what it does as of now, but it completely takes over your account for one. So be careful, and spread the word.
Zoop 8,384 September 30, 2012 Share September 30, 2012 As a general rule of thumb, clicking on suspicious and/or random links - or accepting file transfers - from people you don't know is a bad idea.
NavelColt 22,880 September 30, 2012 Share September 30, 2012 Not a single contact who I haven't pre-approved from a site get's talked to by me, they get blocked. But anyway, thanks for the warning :3 Always good to know.
Lightning Fluttershy 1,844 September 30, 2012 Share September 30, 2012 I haven't got set message yet but I'll keep my eyes open for it. Like CDiscord said I don't generally accept random requests unless I know who it is.

But they told me I would win the Spanish Lottery! Who doesn't want to win a lottery they didn't enter for!?!? In all seriousness, You do have to watch out for links random people send you, most the time its a virus, or it could be a serious malware that well end your computer.
XUNUSEDXXX 3,459 September 30, 2012 Share September 30, 2012 (edited) I don't even go on Skype that much (@~Chaotic Discord~ knows) but thanks for the heads up. If I go on and see, I will definitely banhammer that friend. Edited September 30, 2012 by Scootaluna
MVC NVMXD JVRXD 2,406 September 30, 2012 Share September 30, 2012 Yeah, I don't accept contacts from people I don't already know of, let alone click links from. Random skype contact links can be like some of the troll url's floating on /b/... Not trustworthy. Nice to know, though. I HAD TO FALL TO LOSE IT ALL BUT IN THE END IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER /WRISTS On 4/28/2013 at 8:13 PM, gooM said: Djenty...man you are crazy, but an awesome sort of crazy
ShikaTheSingingPony 20 September 30, 2012 Share September 30, 2012 I got a message like this about ten minutes ago. I blocked the user and ignored the message. Seems like the best way to deal with things like this.
Wubsie 1,123 September 30, 2012 Share September 30, 2012 This reminds me of hackers on Xbox. One kid sent a hacker a friend request. He got his IP Adress and everything. I don't use skype, but thank you for telling us. I Steam I PhotoBucket I Youtube I Ask Me Anything! Sticky Apple 46 September 30, 2012 Share September 30, 2012 This is why I don't allow messages from people not on my contacts list and why I run anti-virus, anti-spyware and HIPS protection at the same time. Then again, I have the best anti-virus available and it's called common sense.
techno915 408 September 30, 2012 Share September 30, 2012 Oh no, a virus! My iPad is sure to crash! ;D oh, how I love immunity! I only Skype on my iPad. It's the only video camera I have that I can use successfully for chatting. 1 This signature was created by coastercrutchfield. |--(0)--| techno915Previously: TARDIS915
Gone Airbourne 21,977 September 30, 2012 Share September 30, 2012 Thanks for giving others a heads up on this. It is good to be aware of these kinds of things. The Soldier 2,044 October 10, 2012 Share October 10, 2012 Do NOT click on it. Crap... I should've seen that before... Now I think I'm in trouble. I don't have a skype account, though. Is that still good or bad? I'm gonna need help.
AegisReflector 886 October 10, 2012 Share October 10, 2012 This is kind of like the Facebook scam, where if you submit to some application like schoolFeed then it will make another person's account post on your wall with some trashy link that will most likely steal your info. I haven't gotten any notice yet, but thanks for the heads up!
