I really like the game and I've been playing since the first day of WotlK.

Sometimes I play 6 months and then I take a break for 2 or so.

But recently I found I don't really have anyone to play with anymore.. So if anyone on the EU servers is interested in playing some WoW; gimme a shout!

I've always wanted to make a full group of 5 and just lvl together for funsies.

What are some of the reasons you like to play the game?

Anyone else PvP?

As a DK, I'm obligated to hate PvP, mkay? (just kidding)

Me and a WW monk buddy of mine kind of had to PvP at the beginning of WoD for upgrades to use for raiding. It was either smash or be smashed. It was awful.

Although, being able to smash people's faces in with six obliterates was kind of fun. I just wish I had the ability to smash or otherwise one-shot people more reliably. Like warriors do. Or rogues.

Such is not the way of a monk though. We fight to defend ourselves and only kill as a last resort.

"Avoid rather than check, check rather than hurt, hurt rather than maim, maim rather than kill.  For ALL life is of value... and no one has the right to take it away."

Warriors fight for a living and can't afford to focus on one opponent. They must kill and move to their next foe. A rogue is a murderer by trade. (I admit, I'm a bit biased when I say that, but it's no doubt a rogue prefers a quick death to a lengthy battle.)

So I tried to PvP again last night, and I remember why I don't like it. It seems like a pointless grind to get good gear to stand a chance, and the only reason I see people PvPing is to waste some time playing against other players. I like Raiding because it feels epic and fighting big bosses is tons of fun.

Also, I fucking hate when you're rezzing and the enemy team is swarming the graveyard, and it just pisses me off because a lot of people don't play fairly. I don't care about class balance, I just wish people didn't act like outright assholes.

Wait they do what in PVP? That's like kicking a boxing that's already hit the mat and trying to get up! Have they no honor?!

You've never done PvP before, have you? That tends to happen in Capture the Flag Maps when the enemy team is winning. There must have been 10 or so horde players crowding the graveyard, they've basically already won, and now they're rubbing salt in the wounds. At least that's been my experience.

I have done PVP, yes, but never experienced that!

That is just . . . disgraceful! What happened to strength and honor? Here people champion the Horde as the "true good guys" and then they turn around and pull that? Way to not practice what you preach you hypocrites!

I don't think it's just horde. People on both factions do it. It's like ganking lowbies on a PvP server. And actually, I've heard of more Alliance characters who pull that shit than horde.

Whatever side, I don't care! It shouldn't be done! Both cultures place emphasis on high ideals, the Alliance says "Light be with you" and "King's Honor."

I wish Blizzard could put in an option where if the player is fighting a character below X level, than player's of their own faction are then allowed to WRECK HIS ASS!

. . . Sorry, stuff like this really just pisses me off.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. This shit has been going on since Vanilla, too.

I wonder why I've never seen it. Does it just not happen as much on RP realms?

Well, if you're not playing on a PvP serve than it won't happen unless you turn your PvP flag on.

That's clearly not enough though. I guess one can always report the player to the admins but the fact that it always seems to happen with someone else does not speak well to culture of the player base.

I don't even get it, what does that kind of person get out of doing it?

I wouldn't bother, there are no rules against it and people are free to do it whenever they want to.

As for your second question, I guess they have nothing better to do, and maybe get some satisfaction of killing someone who has no way of defending themselves.

I disagree. Such behavior should not be tolerated. Sure on the PVP servers it's why they play but there should be a kind of code of conduct with that.

That . . . sounds like an incredibly scary person in real life.

I agree it should be banned, but that's most likely something that will never happen.

Don't say it never will, because then it won't. Nothing changes if you don't think it's even worth trying to change.

I think Blizzard are more concerned on what new mount should be added to the in-game shop that will entice players to blow are their money on.

And they're not wrong to be. Running this operation isn't cheap and their innovation and continued hard work at making this world interesting is how we can continue to play on it.

They DO have a customer support staff though, and a massive one at that. One they would not be able to afford, if not for your theoretical mount makers.

You know you can always report a player if they keep harassing you. It may not be against the rules to gank low level players, but if you say something then the player might get his account banned or he might get talked to by a GM.

I don't think greed is good. They should focusing more on adding enticing content and fixing game balance. With the current expansion, it's clear Blizzard hasn't been putting a lot of thought and time into the game. The leveling experience for WoD has been great, but the end-game content leaves a lot to be desired. Two raids, soon to be three, Timeless Isle-like content, grindy daily quests. Seriously, Apexis crystal dailies are not fun after so long. Tanaan is opening up next patch, but it all seems like Timeless Isle crap. Tier gear is just handed to you. Class nerfs and buffs that make no sense. Do Hunters really need another buff?

I think store mounts should be the last thing Blizzard works on. But they're going to be adding a new one every few months.

It was meant to illustrate a point. An elaboration that means the same thing but is not as catchy would be "profit incentivizes creative effort."

A lot of veterans would argue that the game has become too casual, and all the challenge is gone from the game. End game gear should be earned, and after you've done apexis dailies for so long, they get tedious and repetitive. only 3 raids, when there were 6 in MoP? They haven't added any new dunegons. I didn't like Timeless Isle, it was too much of the same thing, and that's not good.

I know. What else can Blizzard do other than try and foster a better community? Even the best of efforts can't eliminate every negative element without being unrealistically controlling.

Well for one who's kind of "in and out" of the game at various points, that sounds ideal. Besides, I don't give a crud about gear or raids, I just like to do quests for the story and advancing my character's personal journey through the world, said world has only gotten more amazing every time I visit it and see something I never did before.

(And I have been on since vanilla.)

I can understand that, but if you played for end-game content, PvP, and leveling, then you'd understand where I'm coming from.
