Scintillant had reached the city of Canterlot the day before. He was tired from his long travel. His troupe had been around Las Pegasis when all the sudden things around him began to become chaotic. Several members of the troupe started to act strange as well and those fimilar with lore knew what was happening and told all who were able to to flee far away. He and the rest had to leave almost everything behind. Scintillant had managed to grab a few things from his wagon before departing, running as fast as he could. He had no idea where the rest of his troupe dissapeared to. It took him several days but upon reaching Canterlot he had settled down into one of the several camps that were scattered around. Then today, things changed. The city changed around him and the rest. The being of Chaos had arrived here as well. Soon he found himself in a pink maze thing and turned around an nearly bumped into another Pony walking.

Purplepower was looking around trying to get to the castle again, when she bumped into another pony. "Oh, sorry I didn't see you there. I was a little distracted." She said, once again regretting being so clumsy. Well, might as well introduce myself. She readjusted her saddlebag. "I-I'm Purplepower." She said, feeling a bit shy.

(OOC: @Zanther, what does your character look like?)

Then, Purplepower heard somepony's voice. It didn't sound like an adult's voice. She turned around, and saw a unicorn, a couple years younger than herself. "Oh, hi!" She said, a little surprised that a pony her age would be in the maze. But when she looked around her, she was no longer in a maze. Whoa. That's weird. She thought to herself. "I'm Purplepower. What's your name?" She said, once again afraid of being too pushy.

 

"Name's Star Rain. What are you doing here? I thought you were at the refugee camp," replied Star Rain. But then she saw Purplepower disappear. She ran after them, but then slammed head first into a brick wall and yelled out in pain.She was knocked out for a minute before coming too. Now, it seemed like she was in a very different place of Canterlot.

"And that's a whopping 100 pounds," the pumpkin specialist shouted, before concluding, "that means we have a winner!" Buck Hill put his head down and shuck it, turning away and slowly heading away from the stage as a bright looking stallion shook his hooves in victory with a great grin on his face. "Well, I can just try again next year. I might as well see if there are some seeds I can buy before it's winter." He walked among the stands, making sure there was still nothing good to buy, as there hadn't been the last 10 times he checked, before he went back to his own. There were only a few customers browsing through his goods, which consisted of both flowers, vegetables, for example tomatoes or carrots, and anything else you could grow on a farm. "What can I get you two," he asked the fine couple, but they politely replied, "We're just looking at your tomatoes, but they're not as good as last year." He nodded, and said, "The wind isn't doing us farmers much justice, but maybe I'll strike lucky next year. Good day to you too." He sat down on his chair and watches as ponies passed.

"Oh h-hello. We're probably in the tenement part of Canterlot, b-but it wasn't so much of a tenement until that freezing cold came. I'm sorry if I'm not much of help, but we a-are in 13th street." she replied to Silver Heart, still shivering from the cold. Star Rain decided to head back to her house(which now on the other side of Canterlot from where Star Rain is now). She wandered the streets, avoiding the guards because she didn't want to questioned as to why a 13-year old unicorn is out on the streets at this time. She kept wandering through the city, eventually ending up in the tenement area. Her light track spell had worn off so now she can't really see much now. Star Rain kept walking until she bumped into somepony(Cherry Blossom). "Ah!! Who's there?!" she yelled out.

Silver Heart stared at the white mare for a moment in confusion."That doesn't make any sense....I couldn't have walked all the way across Canterlot..." She mumbled to herself. That doesn't really matter she looked like she's freezing. "I'm afraid I don't...but why aren't you at one of the refugee camps?"

"I guess I've gotten myself lost too, but I have no idea where the refugee camps even ar-" Cherry Blossom was cut off when she got bumped into by somepony. Her blanket fell of as it revealed multiple areas of 2nd to 3rd degree frostbite all over her body. Her right hoof, her left back leg, and a bit of her back was fully blackened. She started to freeze and shover even more and just reached for her blanket.

"Huh?! Oh, I'm sorry! It must be really cold here!" exclaimed Star Rain. She levitated the blanket back onto Cherry Blossom and lit up a torch for warmth. "You ok? You must've gotten lost here! I'm in the same situation too!" said Star Rain, who can get excited pretty easily.

(OCC: I ran out of ideas for some sort of monster to use, so I went for a classic. Don't panic, I'll drop it as soon as possible. It's merely a time filler.)

 

Star Keeper could still feel his heart forcing its way up his throat. The darkness had begun to close in around him yet further as he wandered deeper into the caves. There was, so far, nothing. No ancient terror and no monsters.

 

'Myths and legends. Maybe there wasn't as much truth in the old pony tales as I had thought.' He stumbled his way into a clearing, illuminated by the crystals that were spread across the walls. He could see above that there seemed to be a path leading towards the surface. He couldn't tell if out actually did lead out, but it was his best shot.

 

It was too high to reach on hoof, so spreading his wings, he flew up to the entrance way. Carefully he set himself down and continued on his way. The path seemed to get even darker at this point, all he could see were the cave walls closing in.

 

'But what on earth is that?'

 

Ahead he could see a figure, like a Pegasus, its wings spread out in a full arc. A sigh of relief fell over him as he galloped up to meet the figure. The hope did not last long. The figure was in fact a stone statue that had been carved in the likeness of a Pegasus in long robes, its fore hooves covering its eyes from sight as if it were weeping.

 

'A bloody statue, really? What was this doing down here? Oh never mind, I have to press on.'

 

Star Keeper ignored the Pegasus statue and continued to trot down dark path ahead. It was not long till behind him he heard a slight sound of hoof steps against gravel. With no delay he instantly jolted around, trying to find its source. He saw nothing, not even the statue, it was gone. Panic set in. His trot escalated to a full gallop as he frantically searched for a way out.

 

'Bugger, bugger, bugger! What they hay was that?!'

Cherry Blossom wrapped herself in the blanket as soon as it came back to her. "Thank you. I've been stuck here for days, but I couldn't really move around, because it seemed so cold and unsecure anywhere. I'm thankful, but upset that I'm still alive here." she smiled faintly as she tried to get warm with the torchlit fire. "I-I haven't seen anypony in days and my poor little puppy Clef just disappeared." her eyes started making tears as she turned to Silver Heart. "So are you looking for directions to go to another place? Because I won't be of much help to you. I haven't quite gotten both of your names."

Mapmaker continued to walk the maze. His wanderlust had kicked in hours ago, and the anxiety was killing him. He was tired, but he couldn't stop moving. If he needed a rest, he literally walked in a circle. He needed something to change, anything. As soon as he thought that, his surroundings changed from pink to purple, and he moaned.

Buck Hill turned a corner and was met by a sight of no stands. He looked back, and there they were, surrounded by ponies. "Won't hurt to take a walk," he mumbled, and turned his head once more and trotted forward. Immediately, his surroundings changed and the walls he had seen to be yellow were now red. "What in ta-!" He turned and he say a long alley leading a road. He ran in that direction, and he noted how messy this part of the road was. The road was covered in cracks, and just as he jumped over one, his surroundings changed again. He didn't react very well to this, and he slammed muzzle first into the ground. Looking up, dazed, he saw a few ponies conversing. "Any of you fine ladies know where in Equestria I am now?"

Cherry Blossom gently sneezed and just stared at the fire, constantly. Silver Heart had a worried look on her face as she saw the serious injuries that she(Cherry Blossom) had. "Well my name is Silver Heart, but that's not important right now. I think I should check up on your injuries at my home." she said, trying to help her up.

Cherry Blossom just nodded, she knew if she stayed there for too long, she would probably die. She wobbled a little bit, because of her frostbitten leg, but she managed to stay up. Silver Heart started holding her by a hoof over her shoulder and started walking towards her home. She(Silver Heart) turned back at Star Rain and made gestures for her to follow if she needed to.

 

((OOC: I've taken temporary control of Silver Heart's OC in order to keep her up in the RP. Sorry if I incorrectly responded using your OC Silver Heart, but I'll edit these later if necessary. Oh and you may have my adorable little puppy Dawnpath.))

On the old road known as Hontell Street, all seemed quite. The homes were still and everypony seemed to remain indoors for the time being. Suddenly one of the tiles in the center of the road begun to shift. Slowly it was lifted from its hole and slid to the side. Out of the hole crawled a dazed and terrified Star Keeper, his mane and coat in poor sate. He flew out of the hole and slid the tile back over the opening. He was finally free from the caves.

 

By now it was dark out, and nopony dared leave their homes at this hour. As a result the silence was equal, if not worse, than the caves. He regained his composure and resumed his wandering of the streets of Canterlot. It was not long before he could hear the sounds of muffled words and see the faint glow torch light. Finally, somepony else was still here. He was temporarily saved! Star Keeper galloped towards the light ahead, his hooves scrapping against the cobble.

Mapmaker had collapsed, his wanderlust having momentarily subsided, and his exhaustion taken over. He fell into a shaky sleep, when sensation started spreading over his nose. He slowly opened his eyes where a small (insert dog description here) was licking his face. He groaned and rolled over as the dog barked happily at him. It then started to bounce away. "Hey, wait!" He ran after the dog. As he turned the corner, he found another pony. The golden retriever was barking at him happily, and Mapmaker smiled, inwardly relieved. "Hi! My name is Mapmaker."

Scintillant was a bit suprised when the pony he bumped into completely ignored him and moved on. He did his best to follow him into the now purple maze like area. He was a faster walker then Scintillant so he started to fall behind. Then he saw him collapse onto the ground. He hurried to him and about the same time a dog wondered by and start to lick him. Then it started to bounce off as the pony started to give chace. "Dam...where did he find the energy all the sudden," he said to himself. He started to run after him. He was suprised in himself how well he was able to keep up without being very tired. Was probably his own lifestyle. He was fairly fit and now trying to catch up with the pony who was chasing the dog.

In front of Star Keeper stood three mares from what he could see. His vision began to blur and the weight of his saddle bag dragged him to the ground. His eyes were struggling to focus on the glowing fire and his hooves could not keep step. Before he reached the group he had stumbled on his own accord and went face first into the cobblestone.He was exhausted beyond recovery and refused to move another inch.

 

He heard a sweet small voice and a rush of cool air before he slowly begun lost conciseness. The darkness filled his eyes again. His breathing steadied to a slow pace. Star keeper saw and heard no more...

Because Mapmaker had recently tried running through the bushes, he had been tired. The dog had woken him from a shaky sleep that had revived his energy a little. It zipped behind him and started barking at a new pony. His eyes widen and he smiles at this pony, sending a greeting, "Hello! My name is Mapmaker!" He grins and walks up to him.

Now catching his breath some since he actually finally stopped chasing the other pony after the dog turned to face and bark at him. This in turn caused the pony he had been following to turn around as well. And this time he saw him and acknowledged his presence. "Hello Mapmaker. The name is Scintillant and you are one fun pony to keep up with. Was suddenly inside that past maze when I almost ran into you. Then followed you seeing if we could somehow work together. You know what they say, safety in numbers." His clothing was a tad torn from the maze branches but otherwise was still well off. He didn't really notice the cold being use to it and all. Hard to keep the cold out of wagons, even with blankets. Edited November 2, 2012 by Zanther

Mapmaker nods, "I was going to follow the dog, hopefully to the castle. It seems to be unchanged." Mapmaker didn't show signs of feeling the cold; he had recently been mapping the northern parts of Equestria, and recently returned to the chaos from Discord.

"I know. Stuff is getting more ominous around here by the hour. Heck, I don't even know where my house is now. If you're really feeling cold, you should really go to a restaurant or a clinic. Especially a clinic to treat those frostbites!" said Star Rain. "Oh btw, my name is Star Rain. What's your's?"

"M-My name is Cherry Blossom. It's very nice to meet you Star Rain." she smiled as she was being helped up by Silver Heart. Then,out of nowhere, a pony came and collapsed in front of the fire. She tried to make out who it was. "Star Keeper?!" She exclaimed. "What happened to you?!" She was a bit surprised. I didn't think he'd get out of there, monster, or no monster!

Buck Hill noticed to his sudden surprise that he had gone mute. It must have been some kind of side effect of the travel tunnel or whatever it was. As he tried to speak, no sound came out, and what he thought he had been trying to say earlier didn't come out. He jumped up, alarmed, and waved his hooves to catch the ponies' attention. He looked around frantically and grabbed a piece of paper from a recycling bin near him and scribbled the words 'I've gone mute in the last few seconds! Please help me somehow!'
