Many centuries pass and technology creates the path into space colonization. Ponies, from all over Equestria live in space in colonies. Though at the same time, genetic modification before birth is enabled. Many foals were 'enhanced' and they've become much more stronger, smarter, and more efficient than the average Pony. Because of this, discrimination among everypony in Equestria broke out. These enhanced Ponies were known as Coordinators and regular Ponies were called Naturals. Coordinators were acting far superior than Naturals, and the Naturals became extremely jealous. Most of the Coordinator populations decided to live in space, in colonies. They formed their own nation, known as the Zodiac Alliance of Freedom Treaty or ZAFT. Most of the Naturals on Earth formed the Earth Aliiance, but the remaining unalligned Naturals and Coordinators on Earth formed their own Nation, now the Orb Union. The Earth Alliance formed in the areas of Equestria on the Southeast which includes the Moon, Canterlot, Cloudsdale, Ponyville, Tall Tale, Vanhoover, Los Pegasus, Appleloosa, Dodge city, and the Macintosh Hills. ZAFT reside themselves on the the PLANTs and space colonies. Finally, the Orb Union's territory is marked Neighagra Falls, Crystal Mountains, Hollow Shades, Fillydelphia, Manehattan, Heliopolis space colony, and Baltimare.

 

War broke out between ZAFT and the Earth Alliance, but the Orb Union was independent and was a neutral nation. Warships, Mobile Suits, Mobile Armor, and all the weapons started raining down between the two factions. Nopony could tell who would win the war. This was the Cosmic Era, battles with Magic Suits, Warships, and blood in space...

A military base somewhere in the Crystal Mountains...

 

Cherry Blossom was inside a locker room, pulling out a few things. She took out a bright pink and white, standard Orb Union MS pilot suit, tailored to fit her folded wings. As she put on the pilot suit, it was a perfect fit and her helmet even felt comfortable. It was to keep the pilot alive in space and protection from head injury.

"The training exercise will begin shortly, so all MS rookies report to your hangars." A stallion said from the watch tower. He turned off the speaker and all crews started preparations for the Magic Suits. Cherry Blossom left the locker room and proceeded to to her Hangar.

Captain Burner looked over his list of staff and sighed; he didn't know any these ponies. He adjusted his hat when he heard a coms chat to MS pilots to go to a training exercise. He was close enough to the Crystal Mountains to send his own, and key'd his MS squad; three at the moment, "Get your flanks groundside; you're going to train. No ifs ands or buts about it; we need you in top physical form." He got three acknowledgments and cleared them for take off. The mare currently at the consuls was overly perky, and there was a problem; there was only one of her. "Where is the rest of the bridge crew?" He asked, astounded.

 

"They were re-assigned sir!" She said, saluting him, smiling. Her eyes were closed so she didn't se him grimace.

 

"We're already understaffed!" He exclaimed softly. He'd file a formal complaint latter, for now, "Open the hanger bay, our boys are going to run a mission."

 

"Ai ai, captain!" She busied herself as he allowed himself to stroke his own ego a bit.

0532 HOURS

LOCATION: PONYVILLE

"Crooked minds have gone astray, have zey never learned from yesterday? Only a fool vould vear ze crown, vone day ze kids vill tear it down..." Red was sitting on his bed in his apartment, singing along with "Crooked Minds" on his radio. It was 5:30 AM, and he was going down to the recruitment office as soon as the clock hit 5:45.

Bright sat it her office going threw some paper work. <And that is the last of it> She thought, standing up grabbing onto a suitcase and trotting out the door. <I cant wait to get to my new office, in the... crystal mountains ?> Bright stared at a piece of paper in her hooves. <I am being reassigned to the crystal mountains ?> She looked up from her paper work and continued on her way to the hangers.

Shadow Dancer slipped out the back door of the local bakery, a fresh batch of baked goodies, small bread, in his hands. He bit down hungrily, slowly making his way toward the meeting point, down the Ponyville main road. When one was poor, one of the only ways one could get food was to steal it. He was caught half of the time, but he was usually let off the hook, mostly because he only stole in small amounts, and the Earth Alliance militia already knew how poor he was.

 

His parents lived all the way in Manehattan, safe and sound, proud of his brave appearance in the military. His suit was great, some kind of stealthy magic suit that fit very well with his attributes. It was good for spying, but the suit, which, in fact had many varieties of weapons, wasn't exactly invincible. He would have to handle it like care, and frankly, it was quite delicate.

 

He glanced at his old and ragged watch, one that ran 2 minutes and 48 seconds behind. It always annoyed him how he had to take a few moments to get the real time, but this time, he had no time to release his anger at it.He picked up his pace to a gallop, swearing under his breath with the last piece of bread still in his left cheek. 5:30 AM, it had read on the screen, which was the meeting time. That meant it was actually almost 5:33. The waiting officials were visible in the distance, but they didn't seem like in a rush to do whatever they were gonna do. Not even he knew what was next. They hadn't gotten much action lately, and he was starting to get bored. Chanced were they would head back to the base in Canterlot for some training to keep them in top form. Who knows...

Red tore through the door, still whistling. As he skidded around a corner, he reflected on why he was doing this. Magic suits are fun? Nooo... I need the money? Yes, that's it. After quickly filling in his forms, Red trots to a transport.

A few operators in the watch tower detected friendly units nearby, but they recieved a message showing those 3 mobile suits will be joining the training excersize as well. "Friendly units, you are clear to land in Magic Suit runway 5. Please proceed to the training area as soon as the crews escort and manage," an operator said as he went to work on something else.

 

"Alright if you think something is wrong with this M1 Astray, report it and we'll send an emergencey crew on the way," an Engineer added as Cherry Blossom got inside of the cockpit and got herself onto the seat. She flipped a few switches and push a button, causing the machine's eyes to glow into a green color.

"All safety crews on stand-by. An M1 Astray is heading out for the training excersize," said an officer as Cherry Blossom's M1 Astray began to walk out of the hangar. This was her first combat training session and her hooves started to feel tense. She felt very secure with the pilot's suit on, but still very nervous.

 

As soon as she left the hangar, she moving her MS slowly to the training area, by steadily walking.

The three pilots clicked their coms in an affirmative and land. After being attended to by the landing crew to make sure the atmosphere hadn't ruined their suits, they stepped onto the training field and awaited their orders. One of them sighed, bored, "Why would the Captain give us such a lame assignment?" she seemed to be a Pegasus pony.

 

"Because he wants us battle-ready," replied a different one. His voice was low and slow, Earth pony.

Bright walked into the hangers where her magic suit was docked, She opened the door to the cockpit placed her suitcase in a compartment and then sat down and started it up. <Listen to that baby purr.> She thought, walking (Driving, I dont know what to call it) out of the hangers, onto the runway and taking off. "Here we gooo." She said out loud as she set a course for the Crystal mountains.

After a few minutes of Cherry Blossom's M1 Astray constantly making noises of a giant robot making steps, which it was, she finally made it to the training area with the other 3 mobile suits. Cherry Blossom link intercoms and communications between the other pilots and her face showed up on their screens.

The three ponies appeared in her Heads Up Display. Two of them were fighting, and the unicorn paled, "I'm sorry ma'am. Blaster! Compass! Attention!" she said into the coms. The Earth and Pegasus ponies shoot straight up, saluting, "Yes ma'am!" They saw Cherry Blossom and blushed, "Phaser, how long-?" "About 5 minutes." They flushed.

Cherry Blossom nodded slowly and looked to her side, avoiding eye contact with them. It was obvious that she was shy and it looked like she was nervous. This was her first combat training session, but her movement training was incomplete. Cherry Blossom could handle walking, but she didn't learn how to use the thrusters to fly and to run.

The two ponies saw her rank in the corner and relaxed. Phazer rolled her eyes and made a mental note to smack them later. "This is your training excerise, so for this you can give orders. There's a guide if you need any help." She sent Cherry a file, which was too long to be of actual use to most ponies.

Cherry Blossom took a look at the file, but she wasn't really much of a commander, more of a pawn. Cherry Blossom nodded her head and just proceeded with the training instructions she was given. At the same time, Engineers were deploying practice dummies the same size of their Magic Suits, to use as target practice. They were just giant balloons created to simulate enemy Magic Suits.

The trio of MS pilots shot at their targets rather boredly, with the exception of Phazer, who took a bit longer to get 'the perfect shot.' Captain Burner made sure they were he was recording, then dismissed the officer under him on deck. He told her to get herself a coffee, which may have been a mistake, but began voice-notes.

after several minutes of flying the crystal mountains were in sight, and before she knew it Diamond was landing on one of the run ways and walking into the hangers. <Its been a while since I have gone for a flight like that, I should do it more often.> She thought, Docking then opening the door to the cockpit and climbing out.

Engineer crews started moving towards Diamond's Astray Red Frame that had just landed. They started on refueling the Mobile Suit and escorting the pilot out of the cockpit.

 

Cherry Blossom used a targeting system and moved her M1 Astray's hoof with a beamgun towards the targets. She fired once, but she missed and she constantly tried again and again.

Phazer realized she hadn't read the manual, and sighed, "No pony ever wantad the manual I wrote..."

 

Compass laughed, "That's because it's way to long... Ma'am."

 

She growled at him, "Do you have any idea how LONG that took me? It was my graduation project!" She sighed and taped a few buttons, then said, "Alright Cherry, you should see a flashing button. That's your aim assist. Aim for the yellow square."

Cherry Blossom did as told and fired her beam rifle again. This time, the beam at least grazed the practice dummy she was aiming at. She continued firing until a few of the practice dummies were deployed from their left flank and were holding what looked like toy beam sabers. They started flying towards them.

Red was bored.

He had been monitoring the same stretch of mountain for hours, and nothing had happened for hours. He had amused himself by thinking of new retrofits, other than taking off the silly-looking crest and the massive knife he'd threatened to make and equip himself if it wasn't supplied for him. Sometimes, I'm glad I'm one of the best sharpshooters in ZAFT. I get so many more benefits this way!

Diamond smiled at the ponies helping her out of the cockpit. "Thank you very much everypony." She said, trotting out the the hangers and up a flight of stairs to the lounge.

She dropped her stuff next to one of the couches, sat down, Then started reading some paper work about her reassignment.

((OOC: Hatman, what is your OC doing specifically and is his MS nearby?))

 

Cherry Blossom pulled a nob and cause her MS to gently let down her beam gun. She flipped another switch and her M1 Astray pulled out a pink beam sword, waiting for the dummies to come close enough for her to slash at them.

As soon as one got close, she swung her beam sword at them, but extremely slowly. Her performance was terrible and would get her killed at this rate.

((It is nearby, and he's just sitting around looking at the radar occasionally. He's downhill of you by a mile or so.))

Red decided to get up and poke up the mountain a bit, see what was happening up there. He made his MS put away the rifle and take out the knife, just in case.

Something flash on the radar and an operator quickly snapped out of his relaxation. A silhouette was detected a mile away from them, but wasn't easy to be identified. He told a commanding officer and he immediately sent orders for two Murasame mobile suits to scan the area.

"Feazers! Base, zis is Overvatch! I have two heat sigs coming in! Do I engage?" Red made the MS hit the deck, and waited for the enemy to pass. Looks like that verdamt stealth system isn't so great after all... I must speak with the technicians about that. Now, what are they doing?
