gaming Binding of Issac: Best and worst items?

just read the title really. what is your most favourite and least favourite items from BoI( or Binding of Issac) wrath of the lamb edition? I dont know one i hate, but my fav is brimstone.

Epic Fetus is one of my favorites, though since it's pretty much "click things to kill things", it gets pretty mindless when you have it.

 

Technology 1, 2, Ipecac, Mom's Knife, and Cupid's Arrow are a few other offensive items I like.

 

Even better than those are certain combinations, like Mom's Pill Bottle and the PHD, which guarantees you a steady flow of healing/stat increasing pills.

I like the bomb-tear effects such as Ipecac, Epic Fetus and Fetus in a Jar for offensive items. Defensive stuff would be the Wafer or Guardian Angel.

 

Worst items? My Reflection or Lemon Mishap all the way.

 

Bomb Tears are fun, but my favorite items are Technology and Chocolate Milk, especially together.

 

My Reflection is awesome if you have high range. At max range, the tears loop back and forth 2-3 times before finally falling. You just have to run around in a circle while shooting and because of the curve on shots, you'll get this giant swirling mass of tears that basically kills anything that walks into it. It's not that it's a bad item, you just have to change your play style to use it. Like brimstone.

 

Lemon Mishap does suck horribly, though.

well ive just realised that, even though brimstone is still the best, dead cat is a really bad one. sure its nine lives but for the cost of 1 hear per life? not worth it.

I actually don't like Brimstone all that much. The charge time is fine, but the fact that you can't rapid fire weak beams is really annoying.

 

But yeah, hate Dead Cat. Late game, when everything hits for a full heart, Dead Cat is basically "get hit once and you have to restart the room, so whatever just killed you now has full health again, Have fun "

Dead cat is actually decent in some circumstances. If you're playing a character who starts with 1 heart and find it before finding any health-up treasures/pills/eternal hearts, you can grab it with no penalty. Sure, your health will revert to 1 if you die, but you still lose nothing for grabbing it, and it can potentially mean the difference between winning and losing.

 

Oh, and you can exploit devil rooms with it.
