gaming Game Nights?

hi everypony, i was thinking that maybe we could organize weekly (or daily or monthly) game nights, if we all want to play a game i think a game night would work so we could be organized and have a lot of players. im not sure how we would decide on what games, its just a thought i had

I'd be up for something like this, but like you said: we'd have to decide on what games to play (as I don't really play many video games anymore ).

yeah, thats the hard part, well as soon as we get more people into the idea, maybe then we can decide, this is jsut off the top of my head

 

monday - some kind of CoD game

tuesday - Mario Kart 7

wednesday - borderlands 2 or something (i dont have this game)

thursday - battlefield 3?

friday - pokemon?

 

but every day seems too much maybe once or twice a week? idk

 

and yeah i dont play video games much anymore, this is the reason why i wanted to do this

of course well add minecraft and tf2, even thought i dont play tf2 because i dont have steam

 

maybe we could make a poll and see which games to play or just pick popular and well choose those each week or something

We have had both Minecraft and TF2 gaming nights.

 

Not sure, but i thin the Minecraft server is still active and running!

I think the TF2 server went down with Ashbad unfortunately.

i'm totally down for this idea, although i don't have or play any type of PC or online PC games because my internet is crap but i'd be down for any console related games.

Why not separate it into genres as opposed to specific games, that way you could have a bit more variety, and people who don't own a specific game are less likely to be left out.

i.e.:
Day 1 - console first person shooters (Halo, Battlefield, Call of duty, etc...)
Day 2 - Racers (Mario kart Wii, Mario kart 7, Sonic & All stars racing, etc...)

Day 3 - Pokemon (Various versions, new and old)

Day 4 - Team Fortress

Day 5 - Minecraft

I would be up for this.  I really like the idea but then I didn't know if I follow through because I'm not a fan of playing with people I don't know and oddly I like co-op games......  I'll give it a shoot if it does happen.  ...hopefully.

I don't really see a reason for it not to work, just because there's something happening every day and every week doesn't mean you have to participate every day and every week.

that is true, having a game night everyday would also give everyone some kind of game new and fun to play with everyone everyday

Just curious, out of the genres/games I've just mentioned, which ones do everyone here play the most?

 

Personally I don't play the shooters and Mario kart Wii.

Multiplayer games I play that I haven't listed are Dissidia, Sonic Generations [3DS], and Kid Icarus: Uprising. (You know what, maybe fighters/mascot brawlers should be added to that list of genres.)

pokemon (only have white 1 and black 2)

mario tennis open (3ds) (not sure if you can play that one online)

I would be really up for this idea, especially on PC. I think you'd have to cater to everyone and have different consoles and different types of game each day/week. 

 

I think older games may be fun, especially mutliplayer games like Worms or Mario Kart, although getting them to work online may be difficult.

Some of the online games I play at the moment are

 

League of Legends - I think if we got 5 or 10 people do play ARAM's that would be pretty fun. ARAm is good as its nice and casual and the lower skill players can still do well.

 

Black Ops 2 - Again a bit of random fun. Going around and shooting people is always a laugh.

I'll have a look into that and see if I can get it working.

I'd be interested in something like this. Though I probably won't participate in some of the stuff. Mainly because I'm a full time college student, but when I do I'll play for a few.
