Whirlwind reach the edge of the pathway which lead into the mountains, were he dropped his gear off near by a tree as to not be to geared up. he then but on a cloak and moved into the mountains.

that wasn't the usually business, usually mission would be handed out via the barkeep at the tavern, never thru a private message "if this end up being a trap i'm going to be pissed " he said to himself as he got closer to the meeting place baring only his Rapier and parrying dagger.

"ok i'm hear, what do you want?" he said aloud at the shadowy figure across from him

"Perhaps" Golden Age said "Perhaps we could divide our force into two parts? I take my regiment down to Baltimare and you hold down the tent here? My men will certainly need the experience." I have no doubt you'll be able to manage things here. What say you on the matter Lieutenant?"

Vanguard contemplated the idea, in that it made sense yet it left this position vulnerable while the enemy gathers forces. "What siege artillery do you possess at this camp? You and your regiment are permitted to depart as soon as you may but I will require your resources. I will bombard the camps with catapult fire until we have drawn them deeper into the valley. Once we have them where we want we can surround and ambush. My soldiers will be more than capable of holding the assault. I will require your support if I am to take this step."

The messenger- a masked pony with a greyed out cloak- came out of the shadows. "Hello... you must be Whirlwind." He smiled. "I was expecting something more... finessed, but each to his own." He took out a sheet of paper, read over it, and looked at him. "An anonymous pony has asked me to ask you to assassinate the general known as Steeleye Sungazer." He looked at him. "The initial payment will be 1,000 bits, and upon completion, 4,000 bits." He glanced at Whirlwind with a hoof on his sword, in case he retaliated.

"There are a few trebuchets in the camp, you may use them if you wish. I shall move out tomorrow morning, and if things are manageable by the others, then I shall return no later than a week, but most likely in three or four days. Your men seem hardy enough to withstand any attacks."

Golden Age then placed his hoof over his mouth as he yawned. He felt it was the time to retire. "If this matter is finished, I believe I'll be retiring now; good night Vanguard."

As Golden Age settled in, he hoped he would reach Balitmare intime for the battle. He was hoping to find Sunglazer's regiment somewhere in the chaos. Golden Age was not a pony of brutality

But for Sunglazer, he might have to make an exception.

"Rest well, you have a long journey ahead of you." Vanguard took his leave, now addressing his troops who had successfully set camp. "Tomorrow we will begin preparations for an ambush. I want you all to retire now, to your tents. Private Stormcrow, you remain on watch. The rest of you get on with it."

Sky Warden couldn't slept that night. He laid on his tent and blankly stared to the top of the tent. General Applejack didn't tell him how many enemies they were going to ambush. He just have thirty ponies under his command, and they were all exhausted from their long march. He had the responsibility for his mates life and he must kill to save them. They all had a family to protect. Their family trust their son and daughter to go to war under his command, and this war...

He sighed and put his pillow on his face, trying to sleep. He knew he must be prepared for the battle, but the image of blood and flesh, shield and spear, kept floating on his mind.

(plz refrain from assasinations of non NPC's there hard to pull off unless one of us agrees to die or me wounded badly .... btw my OC will not be dieing)

Whirlwind took a moment to take in what was being requested of him, assassins never rely happen like this, usually it's just bounties placed on the tavern wall like a score board.

"2000 bit's now.... that for's the gear required for the job, you will not get a return deposit if i fail, if i'm success full in removing him from battle (not killing) then i collect the rest, if i don't get it i'll spread the word around to the other mercenary"

he opened out his cloak to reveal his Parrying Dagger "now if you would kindly take you hoof off you sword and remove the mask this is a cloak and dagger meeting not cloak dagger and mask"

He though about that for a bit, and then grinned. He removed his mask and put his hoof off of his sword, and then flipped out a knife, putting it in a convenient location. "So... heh. OK. I say... that that's a deal." He gave him a bag with 2,000 bits, and then backed away. "You probably do not want to fail... just saying."

The battle of the Everfree Forest...

Due to the dampness, most of the mages' fire went out, but they did succeed in lighting one big fire. It literally caused a stampede of little animals to burst across the battlefeild in terror, stalling the fight for a few seconds. The fire did spread, but it was taking too long to spread to be taking up much time in the battle, unless the battle were to go on for a long time.

The canisters- 2 of them went in the right directions, resulting in about 100 ponies coated in napalm. One of them didn't go off at all, and the last one swerved in on itself and caught about 15 of Solar Troops in the blast, but they were quickly put out and nullified by the Solar Mages.

You were doing pretty well- and then two things happened almost simultaneously.

1) An air force division came in from overhead, divebombing the troops.

2) Two groups of about 500 men each came from both sides, preforming a double envelopment.

(OOC: If you can get out of this alive, Hishu, your freedom is waiting.)

By early morning, Golden Age's company was lined up in an orderly column of fours on the pathway leading out of the deep valley. "Alright lads," Golden Age began "We'll be marching on Baltimare today. 'Twill be a hard march, but the rewards will be plenty. I have full confidence that the enemy will be routed from the field! So, let us march onward, to victory!" Golden Age was never that good at speeches.

He give Vanguard a quick salute, then escorted himself to the front of the column. "Company, Forward! March!" The steady drop of hoof and the continous clanking of tin upon metal began to take place, and thus began the long march towards Baltimare

(Ooc: Valkyrie is Bio's new name. Also crappy post is because im in a hurry, sorry.)
Valkyrie's scouts, if you could call them that, had found the enemy a couple miles south-east of their current position.
She had picked a dense part of the forest that was along the Solarians path, and ordered her mages to setup 30 or so ice runes and to cover them in dirt and leaves to hide them from the enemy, and then to hid in the dense forest and wait in ambush.

5 hours had past and some of the younger mages were starting to get restless, she had to punch one that started complaining. She was about to punch another, when the sound of marching started, getting louder by the second. Valkyrie signaled her school to get ready by raising her hoof in the air. She caught a glimpse of Shadow weaver out of the corner of her eye, noticing the eagerness of the young mare, a grin spread across her
<This should be fun> she thought.

Another 40 minutes or so had past and the Solarians finally came into view. There was about one hundred of them.
<A bit small for a invasion attempt, why are there so few> she thought, just as the first soldiers stepped on the runes. She waited to signal the detonation.
The main body of the army was now pasing over the runes, she raised her hoof in the air, signaling the detonation. The runes exploded, showering the Solarians in ice and shrapnel , completely freezing and shattering 40 or so ponies. Those that had been hit but not completely frozen, screamed in pain as their frozen bits exploded, severing legs, ears, tails and heads from their rightful bodies. Valkyrie signaled again, and three volleys of fireballs, lightning blasts and Ice spikes shot through the air, striking ponies, trees, rocks and some nothing at all.
Within one minute, her group had killed 50-70 soldiers, before they even knew they were there. But they did now, and the solarians are too disciplined to panic. They had drawn their weapons and loosened their ranks, spreading themselves out, to minimize casualties from each strike.
Valkyrie and her school revealed themselves. Her mages started firing magic randomly at the enemy, some getting shot by arrows for their effort. Val's eyes started glowing a deep red, as she conjured shadows. The shadow tentacles weaved back and forth like snakes, suddenly lashing out, impaling multiple Solarians. A insane smile spread across Val's face, as she watched the bloodshed happening before her eyes.
<Another victory, for me> she thought.
(Ooc: Ill finish the fight in another post)

The poacher moved across the landscape, sticking to the shadows of the surrounding forest. He moved at a constant speed, without faltering or changing. Suddenly, the automaton stopped, standing in a forest clearing. It stood still, as the creature's bizarre tracking system searched for a Phoenix. It could sense the energy given out by the living, however this was an inaccurate and lengthy process. After what seemed like an age, the Poacher twitched, locking on to something; a Phoenix, not far from his location. He turned, and moved off again, quickly falling into a continuos pace.

Vedana continued to sense the disturbance of the wildlife, he placed his hoof on a tree and sense unnatural energy of fear. "Something is terribly wrong, I sense natures fear...but what is it? What is causing Mother Natures wildlife and trees to be scared off?" The blind Unicorn asked himself with a puzzled face, unaware of the chain of events that is happening.

Colonel Toxix woke up, almost forgetting that Equestria was at war. Well then, he thought, let's do this.

He got up out of his covers, stepped out of the tent, and sat down with his men around the fire pit they had made. "What do we do now?" One of his men asked. "We wait for orders." Toxix replied.

Ice Opal dipped his face in the river, keeping it underwater for several seconds before he surfaced and took a deep breath. This would be his last water break. Close to midnight, probably already 2-3 in the morning, he could make out the crude outline of Canterlot. He knew all he had to do was go slightly southwest from that and he would arrive in Ponyville. Then he could figure out what to do next.

He trotted alongside the river, the river rapids now and then rushing, twisting and turning in a deadly maze, so he kept away. He had met no animals so far, as the river, though it was filled with water, was not their water source. He sighed, gazing at the sky, moving his hooves in rhythm. Left, right, left, right...

*****

Arriving at the borderline an hour later, he assumed it was still 3:30 in the morning, but fighting rarely stopped completely, and there was always something going on that would result in death. In pained him, but it made him happy that it was never him fighting at times like these. Or better, it was never him dying.

After a long day at the Medical Centre in Canterlot, Wavering sat on a bench just outside the structure, he had treated more than 80 ponies in less than 2 hours,  some of them had to be left half-healed, other ones, didnt make it. Almost every minute another soldier would come in with a wound worst than the last one he treated, all the things he learned by experience and reading were barely useless against such wounds. "I bet they are not having a great time over there in the mountain, those Lunars, I'm lucky to have this equipment" he said out loud. Fortunately for him, he was almost done for the day. He looked with a disgusted face at his hooves, they were covered in the blood from all the ponies who had been injured that day. As he finished cleaning up his hooves, he pulled out his earbuds, played some music from Poniez (Gorillaz) and repetead to the song as he entered the structure again "I ain't happy..."

((OOC: I might as well just control just Apple Mint for the time being until Cherry Blossom gets a reply from Princess Celestia.))

The sound of steel clashing and arrows flying soon filled the battleground of Appleloosa. Lunar soldiers charged at town hall as many other surviving Lunar soldiers joined in the battle. Solar soldiers did not hesitate to fight back, but they were outmatched by the rage of the NLR. Even the surviving residence of Appleloosa started to take up arms with pitchforks and assisted the retake of their town. They would not falter and wouldn't stop as their own started to hit the blood-stained dirt. Apple Mint quickly assaulted the defense lines of the Solar soldiers, with the help of Lunar guerillas.

Solar officers even began to feel uneasy about halting this sudden rebellion. The seemingly highest ranking officer, trotted out of the town hall building and tried to make a run for the next Solar outpost. Apple Mint knew this stallion was important to kill, because of the many high quality equipment bearing, guards he was surrounded by. Apple Mint quickly went for the target and soon clashed into the blades of the guards. He was struggling to handle all of them at once and they all tried to swing at him all at once. Though other Lunar troops quickly jumped in and stalled the guards as Apple Mint got back up and ran again. The officer knew that Apple Mint would inevitably catch up, so he unsheathed his sabre and pointed at the mint green stallion.

"If you are that eager to fight me. Then prepare to die, Lunar scum!" He yelled as he charged at Apple Mint and attemped to stab him. But Apple Mint intercepted the blade tip by cutting it into halves and then slashed at the officer's face. The Solar officer quickly was sent to the ground with his hooves covering his bleeding face. "All of yer Solar buddies are goin' to pay fer for all of this, through blood," he said, right before inserting the tip of his blade to his stomach, causing the Solarian to scream in unbearable pain. After a few seconds, Apple Mint thrusted his sword in the dying officer's heart and walked away, back to the battle.

When the sun had finally set, Golden Age finally halted his tired company near the riverside. He had altered his course and now intended to head up towards White Tail Woods. "Alright gents," Golden Age spoke "we're stopping here for the night. I don't know what waits for us on the other side, but regardless, get some sleep. And Private Saber" Golden Age then directed his attention from the whole company to the private "I want this colors under shelter, see to it!"

Golden Age slowly unbuttoned his frock coat. Most ponies would think he was mad for wearing a blue coat instead of a chest plate,  but Golden Age believed a chest plate would do little protection against an arrow or a sword. Besides, it keeped him warm during the winter months. He was too tired to pitch his tent, thus he simply took out his poncho and blanket and went to sleep on the ground.

The Poacher snaked his way through the dense forest, his gaze directed at a target. In the branches of one tree, a simple stick nest sat unceremoniously. Within this nest, the offspring of Phoenix parents, no doubt off hunting, lay alone. The Poacher summed up quickly the best way to retrieve a chick, before executing this method. He raised a sizeable stone then threw it directly at the nest. The stick-home fell from the branches and the Poacher extended a hoof, catching one of the chicks. He allowed the others to hit the ground; they were unnecessary. The chick seemed to recognise the Poacher's unnatural presence, and it began to cry for its parents. The cries were carried by the rushing wind, as the Poacher moved off once again, heading for the laboratory. The first stage of his task had been completed. Now he had to ensure the survival if this chick...

General Steeleye:

Steeleye had been on the cursp of hope when the enemy reinforcements arrived. The dive bombers caused chaos in the center lines, taking out both support staff and combatants alike. The mages furthest from the front formed into pointed star formations, feeding energy into their horns. In bursts like claps of thunder, their horns began to spew magical bolts into the air at a rate Steeleye had not known to- be achievable. But it was not enough. On both sides, his forces were not equiped for this fight. He did not have enough ground troops to counter the growing enemy forces, all the while his mage circles were being picked off one by one. This was no longer a battle, it was a damnation for his deeds.

Looking to the innocent ponies around him, a twinge of regret filled his heart, buried under his conviction but still noticable. His ponies, comrades, and friends were being slaughtered like vermin. A rage entered into his mind, struggling to override his logic. Grinding his teeth, he turned to his second, Colonel Steelbolt. "Colonel, how many mages do we have specialized in nature and how many in darkness?" The colonel seemed a little pertrubed by this query, but he reported they had some two hundred nature mages and one hundred fifty dark mages. Considering his choice for a moment longer, Steeleye gave his orders. His goal was to have the absolute maximum number of his men escape this as possible. His time on the other hand seemed to have come to an end. Stepping forth, he went into the daylight and primed his horn.

His forces were the Solar Mages, dying in droves, but none the less some of the most experienced magicians on the planet. Few of their number remained but they fought on with bravery that would have credited anny earth pony. Those who were absolutely neccesary to keep the enemy away for a moment were left, while the others pulled back. Those who retreated prepared a ritual, while bombs and havoc fell all around them, now lacking air-support. Steeleye stood in the center, the focal point for all the magic. When the trickles began to flow in, he gasped with pain. No pony is meant to have the power of five hundred at his command, Steeleye was no different. Though he could speak no more, he read the spell in his mind and after a long second, completed it.

Despite his attempts, many mages and earth ponies had their souls sucked from their bodies, sent to the afterlife. Steeleye himself seemed to be consumed with light and disappeared. In some three seconds, half of those remaining were dead and two hundred mages not to mention a hundred earth ponies had disappeared from the battle. Those that remained simply stood dumb, unsure of what to do. At first in pairs and then in droves they cast down their weapons and surrendered themselves to the mercy of the Lunar Kingdom. Those who had disappeared, came back to existence in Canterlot: Shocked, Dismayed, and nearly all sobbing. In the town sqaure, they huddled together like a penguins, letting non come near.

For a while, he felt himself float in nothingness, undone from reality as payment for his actions. There was nothing and the only reason he knew who he was came from his will, which was fading fast. It seemed to him that he might find peace, but he was denied this, aswell as victory. A force took hold of him, whispering with soft authority. 'Now is not the time to leave Steeleye. I would remind you of yourself, your Rank of General, and your duty to Your PRINCESS!' Then, he was whole, mostly. The stone floor that met his coat was cold, colder than any night sky. Even as he began to lose conciousness, the force spoke to him again. "You shake awake very soon General. Perhaps THEN you will truely serve not only me, but all of Equestria."

Princess Celestia:

The Princes had watched events in battle with growing sadness. Her people were being slaughtered, all due to a servant taking his loyalty too far. She couldn't help but feel guilty, indeed she knew a large part of the blame was hers, not just Steeleye. An Assassin had come in earlier, professing her services and asking for an assignment. Though she was reluctant to use such methods, she gave a mission none the less. "Currently our forces are in Dire Need of help young mare," she said kindly. "I request you start with an easier but vital mission. Col. Macintosh is a strong brute in battle and an honorable one. However, I suspect he will not fare as well against the shadows. Dispatch of him, kill him only if you must."

Now here she sat, escorting a sealed case to one she was told was a Doctor, by the name of Wavering. Though large parts of the following procedure could be done by herself and her entourage, his services were required. None of the entourage knew of healing by manual means, nor many magical. Her cargo needed the services of a surgeon and Wavering was the nearest at hand. When they arrived at the hospital, the cries of the wounded made Celestia cringe. Alighting from her carriage, she oversaw the case's movement with exacting detail. It was carried into the hospital by six strong stallions, like a coffin. They sought of Wavering, who was soon found.

"Dear Doctor," Celestia said in her softest tones to the physician. "I have need of you at this hour. I understand that many here are in dire need, but I must ask a selfish request this one time. My friend in this case is need of a surgeon and you are the best we can find. While I and my serviceponies can do much, these wounds require... your feild of experience." The case was carried in, set on the floor, and opened so carefully that it might have been made of glass. Inside resided Steeleye, well most of Steeleye.

The left side of his face was... gone. There was no other way to put it. Skin, flesh, and his coat cut off sharply halfway across his face and jaw. It apeared that fully half of his head was stripped to the bone, minus the brain. Even the tongue was not spared. There was no bleeding, just a sudden non-existance. Other wounds were more serious. In somewhat the same manner, his right hind leg was gone, except that not even the bones remained. His flank was smooth with a new grown coat. Perhaps the most grevious loss was that of his horn. Celestia knew he still had his magic, most of it, but his horn was snapped clean in half along with the rest of his head, never to function again.

"Doubtless you know what to do here Doctor, but please... hurry. The longer I keep him immobile the more likely it is that more will disappear."

OOC:

(If you want to complain about that, please don't. He teleported as many as he could, which was few. About a thousand souls just died. Steeleye himself was cost a leg, his face, and his magical abilities. So please, if you want to complain, be reminded I just took these losses. Out of Five Thousand, only three hundred and fifty are in Solar territory. Maybe about... five hundred are prisoners, maybe.)

Valkyrie's shadows withdrew from the poor sods that were unlucky enough the be in the way. Two more Solarians charged at her from her left, yelling a battle cry as they ran. Val made a swiping motion with her left leg, one of her shadows obeyed and lashed out, slashing horizontally, successfully splitting the two soldiers in half, their legs still moving a few full seconds before stopping.

Searching round for a new target, Valkyrie had to hide her disappointment when she noticed that they were all dead.

"VALKYRIE, VALKYRIE!!"
Turning to face the yelling, a black stallion came into view, running at full gallop. Finally reaching their group. The stallion coughed and wheezed and came to a stop, clearly not very fit. "W....we foun....found the main....a...army" gasping for air with each word "T...they are... at least..700 strong"
Valkyries eyes turned a blood red, glowing through her mask's lenses "How do you miss a army that big" she hissed, her shadows coiling and weaving, responding to her anger. The stallion, cowered, slowly shrinking away from her. "They...they were well hid ma'am. We didn't notice them until they started moving" "This was just a advance party"
Val just sighed "everyone back to camp I have to request reinforcements.

(Back at camp late at night)
General Applejack

I request reinforcements at dragon mountain.
My Intel was wrong, and the enemies presence here is alot stronger then we had originally thought.
My men are heavily  out numbered and out gunned. They will get slaughtered if caught in battle. Even I won't last long against this many soldiers

Yours
ES Valkyrie.

With a loud *pop* the message was sent.
Considering all that is happening. Her thoughts turned to her old friend Rainbow Dash and how to make her see Celestia is a tyrant and that she is fighting for the wrong side. Slowly she feel into a troubled sleep
(Ooc:yet again I apologize but I am currently very busy)

Sky Warden led his force to the battlefield as fast as he can. He just marched to the north from Appleloosa to flank the Solar Armies from the south. He sighed when he saw that the battle went well for the Lunar Republic. His warband charged at the scattered Solar ponies. He could noticed them by their light colored armors.

He stabbed a pony as he landed. A soldier tried to thrust his head with a spear. He dodge and stabbed the soldier on his neck. Another soldier attempted to stab him with his lance, but it was too late for Sky to pull his spear back from the previous dead soldier. He grabbed the dead soldiers spear and spun the pole to parry the attackers lance. His mate killed his attackers before he could recovered. He heard a painful scream on his right when his quartermaster was killed by a magical bolt. He snorted as he ran to a solar pony and landed his spear on the ponies chest. He took the dead ponies spear, leaving his own spear stabbed on the ponies chest, and killed another pony before they could recover.

He stabbed another enemy, left his own spear, took the dead ponies spear, parried any incoming attack with the pole, and stabbed another. Those moves helped him to attack faster than to use his own spear and try to recover his grip on each attack. He did that combo until a blinding flash of light lit the battlefield.

"Y-Yes your highness, but I will need any additional information about the target. I'll need some intel about his current fighting strength, location, and nearby allies." Cherry Blossom transitioned to her other personality, Sour Blossom. Her eyes turned red, mane turned silver, and even the bow on her mane turned raven black. Though her white coat and cutiemark didn't change at all, but her personality was quickly unrecognizable. "Or would you prefer that I disposed of the target by any means necessary?" she asked. "I am still a novice to combat, but I've had endured special training in order to do so. And this may require a well thought-out plan, if you have one in mind."

Solarian soldiers began to abandon their positions and were being driven out of Appleloosa. Within hours, the resisting Lunar forces had regrouped as a whole and pushed out their remaining enemies, in the town. Apple Mint climbed up to a rooftop and faced the large crowd of Lunar soldiers. "Y'ALL REMEMBER WHAT THEM SOLARS HAVE DONE HERE TODAY! THEY BURNED OUR HOMES, MASSACRED OUR FRIENDS, AND EVEN TAKEN OUR YOUNGINS! DEATH TA THE SOLAR EMPIRE!" He yelled.

"DEATH TO THE SOLAR EMPIRE!" Was the only thing the crowd screamed, constantly repeating that line.

Luna had her face on her desk. Why must war be so taxing, especially on those not participating in the bloodier aspects? She sighed and stood up. Back to pacing... back and forth, back and forth.

When the news came back that Steeleye was either dead or severely wounded, she has immense satisfaction, even though it was quickly replaced by hatred for herself and pity. What monsters we have become....

What monsters we have all become.

"C'mon! Don't you die one me! shouted Wavering while pushing the chest of a pony in her surgery room "I'm sorry...she didn't make it" said one of his assistants, covering the body of the deseased pony with a blanket, Wavering took a glance at the door, and there it was, at the other side there was Celestia herself. Quickly, he cleaned up all the blood and exited the surgery room, before he could make a bow the princess told him about the situation she was. Any other pony would have gotten sick by seeing a scene like that one, but Wavering had seen just enough so that the sensation could be eliminated. He took of his earbuds, stopped the music and took a word.

"Your Highness, I understand your worry about our General, and I will do my best to treat him, but since his corpse is heavily damaged I need you to make a decission. I can give him a new body with a special...treatment, but I can also use material to reconstruct his corpse" Taking another look to the case, and examinating the corpse he said "It's quite unusual this lack of bleeding and the fact that he's somehow still here, but I'll do my best depending on your decission, your Highness"

Vedana sighed, he must act. As much as the blind unicorn detests violence, the pacifist monk must take a stand, "Her majesty Celestia must need me...I have no choice, I will go to war, and help her soldiers on the field." Vedana Purity made his way to his home in Ponyville and armed himself with his bo staff and wore Pony Kung Fu uniform with the straw hat for unicorns.

The Blind unicorn left his home, and found a leaflet on the floor and read with his hoof as to where the Solar Empire's barracks were. Vedana Purity, with his head up high, decided to pay a visit and sign up to join the fight.
