bunnybuzki 45 December 17, 2012 Share December 17, 2012 I think I have a magical internet where I only see fans loving each and every moment of each and every episode and these complaints never reach me. And Anti-social is too strong to describe Twilight's past. She didn't see the value of making friends and spending time socializing when she could be working. It's not quite anti-social. I dunno. LoKé kRude 31 January 6, 2013 Share January 6, 2013 (edited) I'm going to say this, I loved A Canterlot Wedding, but that doesn't make them good episodes. Since I'm too lazy to explain why it isn't good, someone at Animation Fixation wrote an article on it. If you think it was good that will explain why some feel it isn't. I enjoyed the episode and it still is in my top ten. I thought it was the best so when someone linked me to that it comepletely changed my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their opinion so on every side there is evidence that proves it's good or isn't. I just feel the argument to this side carry more wait to them. Scootalove 10,689 January 6, 2013 Share January 6, 2013 I loved A Canterlot Wedding. I'm sure everypony knows that episodes have their flaws every now and again. Some episodes are perfect and some are bad, we all know that. Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
~Chaos~ 3,967 January 6, 2013 Share January 6, 2013 I honestly don't know why people complain about episodes, while they're doing that, I'm just sitting here enjoying what the show brings, entertainment. I'm not terribly worried if an episode is perfectly how you want it to be, I just enjoy it for what it is, this goes not just for this episode, but all of them. It should be noted that the titles of these segments I wrote are supposed to be silly and parodies of the people stating assertions. Though as some have taken them a bit too seriously I have stopped writing these and will come up with a different approach. Having read the massive wall of text I would have to say that there is a lot of nitpicking going on in that review. I dont really need to adress it as the comments section address pretty much every point he made to such a degree that he had to amend his posts. I find almost all of the responses satisfactory. It seems many of his complaints come from a matter of pure personal preference such as the power of love argument or cadence being an alicorn. In some cases it seems the writer is actually reaching for problems. Edited January 7, 2013 by Anadu Kune

This is my number 2 favorite episode(s) and no amont of nitpicking from anyone is gonna change that. Also, it is excuseable for me to take that seriously, I was linked there by someone after jokingly claiming their "A Canterlot Wedding episode is horrible" statement was false. I had never used the site previously and didn't plan to even after reading that wall of text. Also, it could seem that you are reaching for solutions just as their reaching for problems. kirbyboi 588 January 7, 2013 Share January 7, 2013 I loved the Canterlot Wedding episodes...they were so good, my favorite of all the finales. The best songs, stories, and scenes were in those episodes, and they made me smile. Also, at the end when Cadance/Shining armor use the power of love...boss. Gave me so much goosebumps! And yeah, people do try really hard to poke holes. I mean, she's, there doesn't have to be logic in every single thing: Remember,it's a cartoon. Anything really can happen. People try so hard to point out the stupidest things, when my answer is always: IT'S A CARTOON. Because in cartoons, there doesn't really have to be logic. The Royal Wedding was freakin' awesome, and anypony who doesn't agree needs to seriously rewatch the episodes and smile in it's brilliance. :
Veylon 255 January 8, 2013 Share January 8, 2013 A lot of it is simply what you're hoping for in the episode, or what you think the episode is about. I was actually dreading the Wedding. I wasn't particularly eager to have season finale dedicated to the marriage of two characters we'd never even heard of in a season that didn't lead up to it. And you know what these wedding episodes are like. There's the arc where the bride or groom has anxieties and suddenly calls the whole thing off and has to be coaxed back in. There's the maddening obsession over trivialities. Oh no! Are the decorations the tiniest bit imperfect? What a disaster! And then there's the infighting between the in-laws. And someone loses the ring. Et cetera... So I was pleasantly shocked that the Wedding Episode barely had the wedding in it. The writers rather cleverly turned the plot hole of no lead-up into a plot point. Twilight handily picks up the irritation of the audience (or maybe just me) at no foreshadowing and runs with it. Instead of focusing on the minutiae of wedding preparation, the episode concentrates on Twilight's efforts to get to the bottom of what's really going on. She's really worried and upset, and not about the usual petty politics of wedding planning. And, yes, there are plenty of holes here and things that could've been done better, but none of them really touch the heart of the episode.
