At that moment, Somber goes off into a small solo, something pretty hard to accomplish on a acoustic guitar...

 

... Until something had scared the living daylights out of him. Eve had decided to scare him, which he made him yell and dive under the clothes pile.

Laughing sonorously, Eve pulled Somber out of the pile of clothes. "I'm sorry, but that's what happens when you hide in the closet at a party," she told him, still giggling. "Come out here, and at least play where everypony can hear you. You sound great, as always." She smiled sincerely.

Somber's face was nothing but a blush, as he was pulled out of the clothes.

 

"I... I don't know... I don't like playing in front of people... You should know that already... Besides, I like it in there. That way, I avoid meeting new ponies, and it's a win win for everyone. *gulp*"

Marisa's reassuring touch was enough to convince Ragnar towards happiness. Ragnar asked, " Would you like to sit down?" He had been standing for a while now, and he was tired. He would of thought that Marisa would be tired as well. Plus, their conversation could really flourish.

@, Marisa was in fact feeling a bit tired in the legs as well. "Sure" she said and moved towards the love seat (two person couch if you didn't know) that was stationed in the corner. She sat down and patted the seat next to her, motioning for Ragnar to sit down. "I might suggest a song in a minute so we can dance. But for now lets just be honest and compliment each others looks. It may seem a bit silly, but trust me, it can clear the air."

Somber's face was nothing but a blush, as he was pulled out of the clothes.

 

"I... I don't know... I don't like playing in front of people... You should know that already... Besides, I like it in there. That way, I avoid meeting new ponies, and it's a win win for everyone. *gulp*"

Eve sighed. "You always sound great, though. I love listening to you play. Ah well." She rolled her eyes, too. "I don't like meeting new ponies, either. But at least I'm trying!" Expecting a less than enthusiastic response, she continued, "Or, you could at least come out there and talk to me."

*I wouldn't mind talking with her at all... She's probably the only one of this entire place that I can talk to without passing out.*

 

"I'll just stick with talking with you...", Somber replied with a sheepish grin. He still had the guitar with him, but it didn't look like he was going to play it for a bit.

Eve gave Somber a small smile. "That works." She was surprised he had consented to vacate the closet at all, but she was pleased he had. Now she didn't have to be out there alone. "I was getting kind of lonely," she told him conversationally as they walked out of the closet. "Everypony started dancing, apparently, and I don't like dancing much."

"Sorry... I'm not a dancer at all... So I guess we're the odd ponies out of this group, heh heh...", Somver replied with a bit of a chuckle.

 

Truthfully, he wouldn't mind to try and dance. Only if Eve asked him to. Otherwise, it was back to the closer with him without a guitar.

Arrow smiled when he told her she was getting better at dancing.

 

After a couple minutes of dancing Arrow Leaf started getting a little bit tired. "Um, Silver Mane, Do you maybe want to go sit down ?" She asked, moving just off the dance floor so they wouldn't be in anypony's way.

" sure " he said moving over to the sofa " I'm getting a little tired too " * I'm fine there's now nothing to worry about, we've had a great time, every ponys having fun, I'm sure this is going to be the greatest night of my life, stop thinking to yourself and talk * " so arrow you uhhhh have beutiful eyes " * that's it I'm doing great, her eyes do look... Eve wasn't too sure about dancing, or at least this fast, bouncy stuff that these other ponies seemed to think counted as dancing. She might want to slow dance later, if she could find somepony to do it with. She gave Somber a sideways look. I wonder... Well... I'll wait to ask until something more my speed comes on...

*I honestly hate this music... Why are they all jumping like that? It's kind of stupid. Maybe if there was a slow dance, then I would oblige to it. I sort of want Eve to dance with me...*

 

Somber noticed her sideways look, and looked straight ahead.

She smiled softly. Somber was so adorably awkward! After catching her eye, he looked away, almost like he was afraid that she would bite him if he looked at her too long. She wondered what would happen if she did bite him... No, she wouldn't try it. She didn't want to scare him away. She looked down at her punch thoughtfully, and wondered if it was indeed alcoholic.

If Somber could admit something right now, he would be nervous. And whenever he was nervous, his wings would fan open. Which was actually happening as he didn't notice until he caught a breeze.

 

*Oh no... My wings were open... I hate being nervous... It's because I'm around Eve... I don't want to leave her though... I like being around her. She's really fun and nice to be around with. I'm glad she's a friend...*

She smiled faintly. "I...Thank you." She said, staring down at the ground. *Oh no...I cant do this.* She thought, standing up. "Listen...I...I really like you but, I...cant do this." She said, in a rather sad voice, she walked to the door and out onto the deck of Cloud Puffs house.

She sat down on the wooden bench and sadly stared down at the ground.

Evergreen watched as Arrowleaf dashed away from Silver Mane at the end of the song. She was going to get up and follow her new friend, and attempt to comfort her, when another song came on. It was a slower-paced one, similar to the music she remembered her parents slow-dancing to. She got up, and extended a hoof to Somber. "Would you like to share a dance?" she asked shyly.

On the outside, Somber looked perfectly normal. On the inside, his stomach was doing flips, his heart kept skipping beat occasionally.

 

*Oh god... Accept it, and don't screw up.*

 

"I would.... Love that.", he quietly said, getting up and taking Eve's hoof.

Eve hadn't danced in a long time. She was slightly rusty, but after an initial awkwardness, the lessons she had received from her parents, who were bigtime Manehattan socialites, came back to her. Somber didn't really seem to know what he was doing, but that only made her smile and take the lead.

Somber was pretty scared on what to do next. He was able to keep in time with the music, but his hooves were tangling with each other, to which he had to rely on his wings to free them. Even though he wasn't a dancer, he could say that he was doing OK for a beginner... Let's just hope Eve thought the same of it.
