Envy 6,192 August 8, 2019 Share August 8, 2019 (edited) It is funny thinking back that for me that the (pop/rock) music I listened to in my last couple of years of high school is the same music that my parents had to listen to in high school (bands like America, Bread, The Eagles, and artists like Elton John and Jim Croce). It always feels weird describing to other people that early 70s soft rock was the what I listened to in high school, when high school for me was in the mid 2000s. And as I've probably made pretty clear, the bulk of my interest in pop/rock music has remained from the 60s and 70s to this day. I've found other music to love from other eras, but for the largest amount of pop/rock I listen to remains from the 60s/70s. Edited August 8, 2019 by Envy 1 Everything needs more woodwind! Paleopony 703 September 21, 2021 Share September 21, 2021 I'm 19 and I own a 1970's turntable and vinyl albums. I wasn't even raised listening to vinyl, I got into it later in life. I have a vast taste in music. I like some modern music but I also listen to music made in the 80's, 70's, and even music recorded during World War II! I like movies made decades ago. Jurassic Park, my favorite movie, was made eight years before I was born. I also like the classic Disney and Studio Ghibli films.

Splashee 28,566 December 29, 2021 Share December 29, 2021 I like a lot of old things. When I was little (you know, like 5 years old), I liked old cars. Question is, is it weird to be 18 and like older stuff? Answer is, maybe. Is it weird to like new stuff? It is very rare something new comes along and changes everything, but when it does, it feels weird to me (since it is to uncommon these days).
baba_booey 4,303 January 4, 2022 Share January 4, 2022 It's funny, because when this thread was posted, I was 11 years old and really into old/retro video games and cartoons (and honestly still am).
CoconutCake 360 January 4, 2022 Share January 4, 2022 Vintage stuff is awesome and even better than some modern crap that's out now. There's nothing wrong with liking it even if other people are caught up in modern times. Sometimes escaping to another era is pretty therapeutic. But there's also some pretty neat stuff out now, you just gotta look in the right places.
