So, fillies and gentlecolts, there's a certain user 'round the forum, that well...kinda lost his faith. I'm not gonna mention his name, but please put out a prayer or two for him.

I'll be praying for them :D

Meh, agnostics are all right in my opinion. It's those who've completely turned away from faith that I think need prayer, not those who are on the doorstep to finding it.

I think that saying "God 100% doesn't exist" is one of the dumbest things someone could say. Points to everyone who is ACTUALLY open minded.

On the opposite note, I have just been called not a Christian and a heretic, not for the first time in my life.  :(

Well he's a frequent visitor to this thread so me even saying such was probably a bad idea.

That's still no excuse to say something like that. But I'll drop it if you don't want any trouble to be caused cuz of it

Thank you. Needless to say it does hurt, not because I don't think I am a Christian but because he's not the first to say I'm not. The last time was filled with far more venom.

I've never had someone say that to me (at least to my face) but I imagine that must be terrible :(

The OTHER time, I can talk about freely. I KNOW that jerk isn't a brony so he wouldn't be here.

It was on another forum for a tabletop RPG and I was defending religion, as I'm forced to do depressingly often.  >_> I was arguing on the grounds that my religious beliefs don't prevent me from finding truth in science and in fact often strengthen each other.

After awhile though, he gave up arguing and just said "Steel, I don't know what you are, but you're not a Christian." Thankfully some of the other posters rose to my defense, so it wasn't all bad but needless to say it did hurt.

Well, at least I can say I've gotten the same condemnation from both an atheist and a Christian. That's worth at least something right?

Do you love the Lord, love others, and serve Him, while recognizing that Jesus died to save us? Then you're a christian, and nothing in the entire universe can say you aren't.

Well, at the very least you had people to stand up for you. I've never been as lucky when put in similar situations but, what doesn't kill you just makes you stronger I guess.

Nothing against you, but I've always despised that platitude. A land mine doesn't always kill, but try telling the guy who stepped on it that. Not that I think my situation is even remotely comparable mind you.

Yeah, it is a pretty cringe worthy phrase XD

I still think there's some truth to it. I've definitely had my share of trials that I'm certainly grateful for. Still, I prefer not to use clichés like that most of the time. At least it's not as bad as 'What would Jesus do?' :P

Yes, to all of those things, with all of my heart.

Actually, I find that to be the more worthy phrase of the two.

Huh, different ways of looking at it I guess. Don't get me wrong, we should strive to do what Jesus would do, I believe that wholeheartedly. I just get annoyed when people use it constantly, it just gets annoying, you know?

No I don't know because I've not heard it that often in my life, sadly.

Trust me, when you live somewhere like Northern Ireland, where churches are about as common to find as a Starbucks in NY, you hear it...a lot...
