Why, exactly? Maybe he's just abandoned the traditional concept of God like me, not the concept of God entirely. And, to be clear, I've never been to a liberal college before.

Well of course there isn't. That's why we call it faith. Really if your friend's concept of God was so limited as being able to be proven wrong by lack of evidence, this outcome is unfortunate but not really surprising.

If that's the case, I agree with Steel Accord, that's worrying. I was thinking of him being more in lines of researching atheism/agonisticsm and deciding to covert after meditating about it.

 

But if you change your faith after a couple of videos...eh. Me becoming a UU was a fairly complicated process and it's pretty much the most simple form of organized belief out there...so...

I'm actually almost crying right now because I am so happy to know that there are Christian Bronies here. I am christian..a FIRM christian and I love god and jesus. I would look EPIC if I had hair like Jesus XD! But I just want to know...how come atheist people are so mean? Another question...aren't atheist afraid to die? If they die then their soul will have nowhere to go but the place of imps and the dumbass Satan himself. Satan is such a hoe...I hate him. ANYWAYS I just want to know are most atheist scared to die? I'm scared to die but I know that whenever I die...Jesus will hold out his hand...waiting for me to grab it so I can join him and his children in heaven.

First of all, everyone probably wants the epic Jesus hair XD

Also, atheists aren't inherently mean people. Personally, I've met very firm atheists who are much kinder than a lot of Christians I know. All depends on the individual.

Also, atheists probably are not afraid to die, although I'm not one, so I can't really speak for them. But, if they don't believe in an afterlife, it stands to reason that they don't worry about it or think about it since they don't believe they're going anywhere after they die.

It's a kind of sort of not form of Christianity.

 

It evolved from Unitarianism, which believed that God was a unity and not a trinity, and Universalism, which believed that a loving God would not make a hell (note; this does NOT mean that God lets sinners go scott free. God punishes them on this earth, not in hell). The two merged sometime in the 1960s and it continues to remain the most liberal of the organized religions up to this day.

 

Not all of us are Christians; we believe most religions are valid ways to get in touch with your spritual side as long as they don't promote violence or are too conservative. We have a series of ethics that basically boil down to 'be a nice guy' and we don't aim to convert people unless we can tell they're obviously feeling very uncomfortable with their religion. Also, contrary to popular belief we aren't hipsters, we use a lot of reasoning to describe why we believe this way, though, again, we won't attempt to covert anybody.

 

Our churches focus on modern day issues such as gender inequality and the LGBT movement and how we can show the persecuted a bit of love. Basically, we're tumblr users. But we're nicer. *shot*

Now onto some of your questions. Not all atheists are going to be mean. Yes there are some that not nice to people at all, but there is still a large amount that are nicer than most.

 

I don't think that atheists even care about dying. Since they don't believe that there is a heaven or hell, they think that if they die they're just dead, nothing else.
