Christian bronies: meet, greet, and mingle!

Considering the tone this thread has taken it will be closed for cleanup.

Thank you.

I'll be unlocking this thread now, but there are some points that will be made as a result of hiding around a page & a half of posts.

1. There is to be no debating in this thread; period. There is to be no debating the merits of different Christian beliefs, LGBT relations, and anything like that. If you want to debate such topics, take it to Debate Pit. No exceptions.

2. The purpose of this thread was for Christians to meet each other and talk; if they so wish. Some slight OT posting is fine as long as it stays within the confine of the original idea.

3. Be polite, and think of other posters as complex individuals. Always remember that the person you are speaking with is a fellow human being behind a screen; like you. As such, the Love and Tolerate rule from the Global Rules stands; as it would anywhere else in the forums.

That said, please return to your normal routine here.

Thank you.

I would also like to know. It would seem odd if you just posted you talked to God and didn't say what you talked about with Him.

I dunno. I was just sitting in bed trying to get to sleep when he swung by. He clarified on some questions I had, said some hopeful things, and left because there's apparently something going on in Burma. Anyone know what that could be?

No idea. God works in mysterious ways, it could have been any number of things :P

I think I might know actually.

Well, I went on its Wikipedia page and it appears the country recently went over to democracy, so I'm thinking that may hold some issues. I dunno.

Actually, no, first of all I don't think the Divine cares as much about political minutia. Render unto Caesar and all that. Second of all, if you wish for me to elaborate, I would suggest we do it via PM for fear of thread lockup again.

why do I have five bibles

Are they all different translations? I can see that as a reason, or at least I know of people who find that reasonable

I'm stuck with a cheap youth study Bible cuz I'm too dumb to understand anything out of the other translations haha

Umm... Different versions, the ability to give them to people, having another one if you lose one. Those were the reasons I could come up with.

I have the Crossways ESV Study Bible, a leather softcover 2014 NIV and three other teen bibles in older versions of NIV. On my phone I have NIV, ESV and King James Version.

It's unbecoming of you to belittle your own intelligence. I'm extremely sure you could figure out the differences between

"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him" Col.2.6 NIV

"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him" Col.2.6 ESV

I was remarking on the face-value silliness of having several copies of one book.

I should give them away...

Oh, I don't really think that XD

I'm told repeatedly how smart I am, I know I could tell the difference. Just some self deprecating humour is all :)

I guess it is kinda weird to have that many Bibles. It would be nice to give them away, like to a charity shop or something :)

@,

I read something in one of your recent status updates that I thought I'd bring up here as a relevant subject.

The Sabbath Day.

*Note: Disregard the [Gregorian] Calendar you are all familiar with; the history of days of the week comes before its insertion into society.

You see, the 7th [last] day [of the week] was always historically Saturday.  As such, the Sabbath Day is/was Saturday.  It was the Catholic Church that declared Sunday as the day to gather and worship (for Church - for Mass/Service/Sermon/etc.).

So, while we [Christians (of which Catholicism is a denomination)] do celebrate Sunday as if it were the Day of the Sabbath, it really isn't; Saturday is.  Speaking from knowing the teaching of Scripture and how it translates to our lives, Saturday is the day to "not go to work/school" because it is the Sabbath.  Rest on the Sabbath - Saturday.

Now don't get me wrong - Sunday is the typical day we gather to worship at Church service.  But think about it this way.  Weekend - and yet we consider both Saturday and Sunday to be the weekend, despite Sunday being the start of the week.

Although via calendar Sunday is the beginning of the week, I've always treated the start of the week as Monday. I don't know, I just feel like it is more natural.

Anyways, just a thought that popped into my mind. Going by the calendar, it's great to start the week of with going to church.

Don't want to explain it for the fifth time today.

I just fail to understand how God can directly contact you apparently. He doesn't do it with any of the other Christians I've met in my life

That's because it's a very unique and rare gift. I have a friend who can contact/be contacted by God directly, and at first I didn't believe her, but after a while I couldn't deny that she seemed psychic sorta and that God was the only explanation.

Sometimes it just happens. God's talked to me in subtle ways. Never words or anything so overt, but I believe He has.
