*Lester landed on his feet, but he stumbeled a bit. He was getting tired. Both of them were. No one could fight like this for long without getting tired.*

"I- wont let.... Let you hurt her, any further!"

*He said before charging Damon again.*

*Sasha's eyes widened as she saw what happened to King. She quickly used shadows to bind Lenny as well, and crush the gun as well. A light barrier blocked Rufus' mace from hitting her. She walked over to, and knealt down over King.*

"Quit foolin Kingy, this wouldnt hurt you."

 

*King looked up with a slight smile.*

"It does sting though. That shotgun must have been enchanted or something."

@@Pripyat Pony, Shell returned to the abandon building with Diego close behind, "I'm back Poison" he said before she walked over and looked a quick look at Diego. "It followed me home, can i keep it?" Shell joked, he heard that from... well, he couldn't quite remember. Poison laughed and nodded, "As long as he doesn't mess with the spiders, or me, he is fine to stay. But he better be house broken" she joked back.

Diego narrowed his eyes at that, but since his head was still pounding, he decided not to make anything of the teasing. After all, these weren't normal people who could easily be brainwashed or mind manipulated.

 

"Yeah, I know how to behave in a house," he replied. "I used to live in one, many years ago. Only left cuz after I nearly strangled my younger brother, I decided that it was better for everyone that I go and live solo."

When he was a safe distance away, Batujiri went back to his human disguise and made his way back to Eos' base. He didnt see how what he had just done was going to be helpful.

 

He walked into her office and placed the cube on her desk. "You're abusing my talent." He said. "This has done nothing. Ive studdied the art of theft for many a century, but I have never been instructed to rob a human for the purpose of fighting a war. Enough with the petty theft. Surely you have a better use for our time."

@@Pripyat Pony, Shell stayed emotionless and he walked over to Poison, handing over the 100 dollar bill he still had with him. She looked surprised, but Shell didn't understand why. "Where did you get 100 dollars?!?!" she asked a bit louder than Shell would have liked. "What do you mean? That's only one piece of paper" "Yeah it is, but its worth 100 of them, you could feed yourself for quite a while with this" she said waving it around. Shell tried to grab it back, but Poison pulled it away just as he tried. "Nu-uh, were sharing this thing" she said before handing it back. Shell shrugged and ripped it in half, thinking that half could go to her, and half could stay with him. Poison's eyes went wide and she freaked out, "WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!?!" she asked even louder than the last time. Shell smiled and handed her half of it, "See? Now its easier to share, you get 50 and i get 50" his smile almost instantly dropping once he saw her afterwards reaction. "That was stupid wasn't it...?" "You bet it was! Now its worth nothing, you stupid rock!" she said before kicking him in the leg, only hurting herself. "I don't know how many people i have to explain this to, but i'm made of chitin, not rock"

"Mannn that gun was really expensive..." Lenny said looking down at the crumpled sawn-off shotgun. "But then again it didn't seem to work anyway." He said looking rather normal even though he was in a bad position. Rufus simply stayed still and waited.

 

"You put too much in your attacks, and wore yourself out too fast." Damon said as he charged, readying a black fireball in his hand. Before he collided with Lester he held his hand towards him like a lance and fired it at his chest.

Eos looked up and saw it, the beautiful cube placed carelessly on her desk. She shot to her feet, glaring at him as she gently placed it on a plush red pillow.

 

"Take better care of it!" she said, obviously upset, and then grunted as she tossed him a blindfold and earplugs. "Put those on unless you want to go deaf and blind, and go out for a moment. Shut the door TIGHTLY."

 

(OoC: For purposes of this post, I'm going to assume he does for the moment.)

 

After Butajiri was safely out, she turned to the cube. Currently, only a single side was marked with an odd symbol. It looked like an X with lines across the left and right spaces, a sort of bowtie like structure. Eos pulled out her dirk and pricked herself on the finger. Using the tip of it to trace the shape carefully, she then whispered "Dagaz!"

 

There was a few moments and the blood seemed to sink into the stone. After it all disappeared, nothing happened. Eos felt the disappointment sinking in her stomach-but that was began the rune began to glow brilliant gold.

 

Caught off guard, Eos quickly began to chant something.

"O Canwr Meddyliau, Gweledydd o Ysbryd, mynd â ni'n aur i mi ac effro gan eich gwsg tragwyddol!"

 

Now the entire cube began to glow gold, and the room filled with light. However, Eos stared straight at the centre and continued to chant as the rune seemed to burn into her mind and the sound of something like a hurricane filled her ears.

 

As soon as it had started it was done, and the activated cube was now covered in runes, all gold and glowing. It floated above her hand and she touched it carefully, scalding herself. A few moments she tried again and this time it wasn't quite so bad. She guided it to float above the pillow and placed a tall glass tube over it, pausing to admire its beauty before fetching Butajiri.

 

"I'm surprised it was so easy to find, but you have done us a service. Thank you."

*Sasha felt her hair. A lot of it had burned off when Damon had blasted her in the face with that fire bullet. She still had a full head of hair, it was just really short now. About an inch long.*

"Damn."

*She said. The wound in her face finished healing, but there was now a large scar between her eyebrows*

"What happened to Lester?"

*She said noticing that neither he, nor the guy who had shot her were there anymore.*

 

"If Lester is the guy that was here, then he turned into some sort of demon, grabbed the guy who shot you, and then they just vanished."

*King replied as he set the unconscious Anna down on the couch.*

"What should we do with these two jokers?"

*He said looking at Lenny and Rufus.*

 

"I don't know, take them to Rocketeer maybe?"

*Not many people knew, but King was actually a rebel spy. On the surface, due to his band's popularity, they became sponsored by the government. King used this opportunity to obtain vital information about the government and pipe it back to the rebellion.*

 

"I doubt RT would be happy to see two government assassins in the base Sasha."

*King said.*

"And I dont think there is anything other than your power that could manage to restrain them."

*Seconds before the black fireball hit him, Lester blinked and appeared behind Damon. He quickly spun around and slashed a chakram across Damon's back, cutting him deep.*

"Its not over yet."

*Lester said through heavy breaths.*

"I still have some energy left."

*It was the first time Lester had ever been like this, and he was still unsure on how to control his new power, but he was managing well enough.*

 

(For those who don't know, there is a kind of short range teleport called a blink. Thats what I mean whenever I say that Lester blinked.)

Fenyw didn't much like this official; he was irritating. They had saved his life, yet here he was being an ungrateful ass.

"We don't want to hurt you," she said slowly. "We want you alive. What do you not understand about that?"

She was tempted to tell him what was in the wine, but restrained herself. It wouldn't hurt him and he'd probably like it better without knowing.

(I wanted to give Damon a blink, but instead i just gave him Scorpio's fire teleport thing.)

 

"Nice haircut, it's nice to see Damon at least can have good aim and do somethin' right when I ask him to." He said insultingly. "How about you let me go so i can stick a switchblade in your gullet and cut you like a game hen? Thatta good idea?" He suggested.

 

Rufus stood there oddly, knowing he could break out if he wanted to. His usual antics in the shadow's allow him to have a power over them. But he figured there would be nothing to do but lose after he got out.

 

Damon cringed once more. "Alright, that one kinda stung..." He said slightly angered, spawning a Kukri Machete. He opened a fire portal below him, falling through it and ontop of Lester, stabbing the Kukri into his back before kinking off his shoulders with enough force to push him to the ground. He then rapid fired flame blasts at him.

"well please pardon me,  i got shot then dragged to the sewers, then i discovered that the shooter was my own daughter, and i feel like a prisoner, so youll excuse me if im not in the best of moods" he pours him self another glass of wine and took a sip "ive never heard of this brand, it is quite good i must  say" he took another sip "im starting to get worried about olivia, she took off some time ago and she hasnt come back"

"Besides, I doubt a switchblade could do much more than a bullet to the face did. Healing factor bucko!"

*Sasha gave a sarcastic smile.*

 

"I dont like the looks of this guy."

*King said looking at Rufus.*

"He's too calm, too casual. I don't like it. Try some light bindings, some people are more attuned to the darkness than others. As im sure you know."

*Sasha nodded. Streams of light began to wrap around Rufus, binding him as tightly as the darkness ones, but more effectively.*

*Lester got hit by the stab, but managed to roll over and block the fire blasts with his chakrams just in time. Once the bombardment had ended, Lester stumbled to his feet.*

"Hah, wasn't sure that would work."

*Lester was exhausted. His vision had gotten blurry and he had taken a lot of damage. His chakrams were losing their color, and there were a lot of obvious nicks and breaks in them. His horns began to dissipate and his skin was no longer red.*

"No..... can't....... stop....... don't...... augh......."

*Lester passed out and fell down face first onto the ground. His chakrams shattered and the pieces disappeared, repairing themselves for when he needed them next. His pointed ears and teeth, his flame red hair, and the marking around his left eye, however, all remained as they were.*

"Well, now you have your trinket." Butajiri said. "I didnt do this out of charity. I want a favor for a favor. Tell me about the one who was in here earlier, the one who broke in. Who is he, where can I find him, and whatever else you know. Help me with this, and I will gladly offer my services again."

Eos glared at him. "Now slow down, I don't know that much about him. There's no need to be rude, and that is no 'trinket', trust me."

She sighed, already regretting the idea of having him around.

"You know, I don't think this is going to work out. I'll help you on this, but after that...well, this isn't just an in-and-out mercenary group. If I can't trust you, then there is no point in helping you with anything."

She then sat down lightly on the edge of her desk, crossing her arms. "His name is Scipio, but he has a symbiote of some type attached to him and seems to go by Tartaros. No idea where he lives, but if you can convince Gwen to help you maybe she'll know. As for anything else, he's siding with the rebels."

"That's probably because it's made here," said Fenyw. "Boss said we can release you soon since there's no way for you to unlock the door, and if you tried to get around you'd get lost. Anyways, this isn't the start of the sewers yet; this was the basement of a house that your government burned because rebels lived inside. You even burned the children." Her voice was grim.

"As for Olivia, she'll be fine. Carullo's a good guy."

"I gave my word that this would last until after the war is over. You doubt the trust of a demon who lends you his sword? That is my lifeline I left with you, and you don't trust me in return. I already said you were misusing my talents with theft. Give me a target worthy of my sword, and I'll give you a reason to trust me."

Hunter felt a little sick when she mentioned burning children, he took another sip "she said she would be back soon, and well, im just a little worried" he took another sip "you know, you should consider selling this stuff, you would make a ton of money" he said

Damon watched Lester fall, while he himself was tired and panting. Damon sighed as he walked over to Lester. He picked him up by his collar and opened a fire portal on the ground. "Put up a good fight kid, but good usually isn't enough." He commented as he threw Lester through the portal. It led to an completely black windowless and doorless room.

 

Rufus sighed, still looking casual and unconcerned. "At least Damon has your friend. An obviously fair one for two exchange is probably in order." He chuckled.

 

Damon used another fire portal, teleporting him back to the street outside of the apartment, he started up the stairs.

"I can't end the war," said Eos. "This is something much bigger than both of us, and as I have said I am a sworn neutral. I can offer you information and side jobs, but I cannot trust you with the secrets that I share with the rest of my crew." She shrugged. "That is the way that this operation has survived and that is the way it will continue to do so."

Turning away, she stared at the cube. "This is more important than you could ever hope to understand. If all goes as planned then I may be able to help you soon."

"She seemed like a tough cookie, and Carullo's mad for her. He wouldn't let anything happen." She then laughed at his last statement. "Yeah, that wouldn't go well en mass."

*When Damon walked in, Sasha glared at him.*

"Knew there was something up with you."

*She said.*

"Too much darkness for a cop. You got a lucky shot."

 

*King looked at Damon.*

"This is the punk that shot you?"

*He asked Sasha, pointing his thumb at Damon.*

 

"Yeah."

*Sasha realized something.*

"Where is Lester? What have you done to him?"

"That's a hundred dollar bill, it doesn't work that way," Diego explained. "You can sellotape it back together, some places would take it. Or you could take it to a bank. Or, more likely, I could take it to a bank. If you show up, they might think you want to rob them and immediately start freaking out."

"I wouldn't make any funny movements, I can cave in the walls and crush him any time I want." He said with a sigh. "Now how about a deal? Your demon for my werewolf and egotistical boss?" "You're speaking in riddles, what is it that you do want?" she asked, facing him. "You ask a lot of things, not all of which I can provide. Again, if you can get Gwen to help you, you might have a chance, but I highly doubt she'd do anything but murder you."

She unlocked the vault in the corner and handed him the sword. "I can't help you. We operate mainly on stealth, not fighting. We win our battles with words, not fights."

"She'll be fine. Again, Carullo is mad for her, he'd never take her anywhere she couldn't handle," said Fenyw, relaxed. "And it's not about tripling this, we have all the people we need. Selling it would draw unnecessary attention to us."

"You aren't allowed to harass me or any of my friends or family anymore. Agree to that, and the trade is a deal. But first, we need to see Lester so we know he is okay. We have your guys all here and fine, so why not show the goods?"

"And no King, I do not mean that sexually."

*King chuckled nervously.*

*King said scratching the back of his head.*

Fire thought for a moment, a fire portal opening, throwing Lester out of it face first into the floor right next to Damon. "Alright, how bout this." He said aiming a fireball at Anna. "You accept the original offer, and I wont incinerate your beautiful helpless human friend?" He asked. "You asking me to stay away from the rebels, being apart of the gang i'm in you are practically the main objective. That would be just silly to stop..." He explained
