ooc Finding who you are.

Steel Accord

Recommended Posts

Steel Accord is not a mentor. He is, if anything, a teacher and even that's stretching it. But when somepony, lost and confused, asks for his help; how can Steel refuse?

While spending time in Dodge City, researching for a book, he comes across a young stallion with trouble on his mind and no idea who he truly is. Steel smiles and offers to be his friend. Hoping to help with the only thing he can, kind words and an open ear.

(If nothing else, this can be an amusing free-time activity to reduce stress for you.)

Topsy, out of the corner of his eye, sees a grey stallion striding confidently towards him. "Uh-oh" Tops thinks to himself. He'd never been much of a social pony, and he wasn't about to make an exception for this one, no matter how nice he seemed. There was a time when he might've been able to match this strange stallion's energetic demeanor, but that time had passed. Things had changed. He was no longer the pony he used to be. Hopeful, naive, innocent, and spontaneous were no longer words that Tops could use to describe himself. The words that seemed to fit him the most now were: Serious, forlorn, depressed, and easily aggravated. Tops slowly lifted his head off of the table he had been resting on, and he reluctantly met the other stallion's eyes.

"What do you want?" he said with an annoyed tone, barely opening his mouth.

"How would you like to be my friend?" said the stallion.

Topsy was a bit taken aback by the offer. He hadn't received a friendship offer this directly and concisely in quite some time. It made him...suspicious. Why would a stallion who seemed to have it all together want him as a friend? It just didn't add up. It was probably some Celestian devotee who was brainwashed into spreading the word of the princess. Tops could see it now. This stallion would pretend to be his friend, start asking him a bunch of questions about his religious beliefs, and upon finding out that he didn't entirely subscribe to the beliefs of their ruler, either ditch him completely, or not value him as a true friend until he was converted. "No thanks." Tops thought to himself. What kind of a friend has ulterior motives like that? No friend of mine, that's for sure.

"Um...I guess..." Tops replied unenthusiastically, hoping to deter the stallion's interest by acting decidely un-interested in him.
