Silver looked at the ponies and realized that one was a little nervous too. She smiled shyly hiding behind her mane a little. " umm.. How.. How are you guys?" As she waited for their reply, she took another peach from the bowl and moved as close to Leaf as she could.

Dusk lowered his hoof again, seeing as the other pony seemed disinterested in a formal greeting. He took a step back, with a nervous look on his face again - "O-kay...guess not" he said quietly, looking at Star confused. "Sorry, I-I just felt bad for making you do the talking...that's all" 

 

Leaf Orange let her move closer to him. with that, he got closer to her for a bit more comfort. "Yea, I was confused where to go because there was no map, We had to fly up to get a good view of the area..." he answered to Star Rain in response. He then turned his head over to Dusk. "So, how's the party for you so far?"

Upon seeing the two ponies together, Dusk started to feel slightly jealous, but he didn't show it. He wasn't expecting to be spoken to, and he jumped a little when he he realised. "Oh! It's um, it's great yeah. I'm uh, really n-nervous around new ponies though, and the p-plants. I don't feel comfy with them w-watching me..." his coat rippled a darker colour at the thought, but then he looked towards Star, his eyes clearly full of emotion - showing his true feelings for her for a moment "but since i've been talking with Star, it's not been too bad." He blushed his coat returning to normal colour, and then shook his head, shaking himself out of the endearing stare he had fallen into.

"I'm not quite sure. I found it one time when I was travelling." At this point, he had just realized why he was always travelling. Why he had always been running. It was because he didn't want to look back at his past. But with Diamond, he wasn't afraid. "I've never told anypony this, but when I was young, my best friend tried to kill me. Since then I've been pretty... antisocial. I think your helping me come out of my shell again. Thank you."

Star Rain was about to mention Dusk's freak-out over the plants, but decided it would add loads of embarrassment on his part. So she jokingly said,"Yeah, I had to teleport us out to avoid getting put on a missing poster!" She then used a series of small art spells to make a regular piece of granite look like amethyst, which caused some of the plants around to open up in response. "I found that some of the plants around here react to magic, like the spells I just casted on this rock," she added, talking a little like a scientist.

Diamond blushed. "I...I'm sorry to hear about your friend...I can imagine that would have been difficult." She said, Stretching her leg's and standing up. "Would you like to attempt to get out of this maze with me ?" She asked, Smiling and looking around at the tall hedges.

"I guess it would be a good idea." He got on his four hooves, looking at the paths branching in different directions through the hedges. "Now then, what direction to go first." It was now he realized the complexity of the maze. "It seems the maze... changed since when I came in here."

He chuckled a little at what Star said about the missing poster. Then when he noticed her performing her magic for her demonstration, he had to smile to himself - such a talented mare...and what do you have Dusk? The ability to hide?! His expressions would never betray his inner thoughts, as he was half focused on what Star was doing, and half focused on keeping an eye on his surroundings, all the talk about the plants seemed to have got his attention on them again - they weren't watching him of course, they where too focused on Stars magic thankfully. 

 

"Star? Do you mind if I head out? I think I just need a minute" he whispered.

"Yea...I haven't seen any of this before." She said, Looking around at the hedges. "We'll just wonder around until we find our way out...If we get stuck, I can just teleport us out...Which I don't do often but i'm sure I will be able to handle it." She said, Walking down a random path, Then looking back at Goldseek and smiling. "Let's go this way...It feel's like it has less hedges." She chuckled.

Goldseek followed the purple unicorn through the hedge maze and thought he heard a rustling noise. Turning around, he discovered the path they had just walked through was gone. "Umm... That's wierd." He said, gesturing at the wall that was replacing the clearing.

"Oh dear...Um...Should I try to teleport us out ?" She asked, With a worried expression.

She stared at the wall that had just closed off when she heard a rustling from a spot just behind her. She turned around and noticed a new path had opened up. "This is kinda freaky...Stop messing around with us, Maze." She joked.

Goldseek thought back to when he first sat on the bench. 'Living plants. Wierd.' "Maze, could you please make a path to the exit for us?" The maze, however, had different ideas, and instead changed itself even more. "Oh great, a maze that enjoys toying with others. How wonderful." He turned to Diamond. "It's probably a good idea to teleport us before it decides to do something else."

Diamond nodded and took hold of Goldseek's hoof. "I am not an expert at magic so we will have to see how this goes...Hopefully we will land on a bed or something." She chuckled and closed her eyes. Her horn started to glow, and then...There was a flash.

Diamond and Goldseek were now at the entrance to the maze. Diamond opened her eyes and smiled, Then her smile faded and she swayed back and forth.

"Gladly."  He sighed in relief that nothing bad had happened. He looked back at the maze. He had no intentions on returning there anytime soon. Ready to help Diamond incase she was feeling faint again, he walked on towards the banquet table.

"No no, nothing's wrong" he replied "I just, uh..." he had to think of an excuse quickly "...honestly, I just need a bit of space for a moment, this place isn't huge and there're so many ponies here." He smiled, seeing Star's eyes and when she blushed, he couldn't help but think about how cute she looked. He turned around, and trotted out of the banquet. He found a nice quiet patch of garden, under two giant trees, and trotted over to sit down. I just need some time to think things over...she's nice, and I really like her, I think she likes me back too but...I don't know. He lay down near the trees and purposely disappeared into their shadow. Let's just take a minute and think about this...

She poured herself a glass of water and sat down on a stone bench next to the table, Leaving enough room for Goldseek. "So...Goldseek, Why did you decide to come to this party ?" She asked, Taking a large gulp of water.

A tear fell down his face as he remembered the day his mother was taken. He wiped his tear and tried to be cheery again. "So, what of you? What cause you to attend?"

Silver blushed a bit at Rains comment and smiled. " Thank you Rain, where did Dusk go? He looked like he was scared of something, did I do anything to frighten him?" " Oh no" she thought " two minutes I'd meeting new ponies I already scared one off!" She turned and grabbed a cup of punch from the nearby bowl and nervously sipped it while leaning against Leaf a little.
