[Nightfall 3,950]

(okay so that story is about a guy who realises his life has no meaning so in the end he kills himself. = a very brief review)

"I know. There's also the sun behind the dark cloud." he said, without changing the direction. "But also.. the feelings are more than just words..."

(I'll just pretend they already have sushi on their plates)

Slimy looked at his plate. He carefully tasted the sushi. "It's very good. Thank you, Diamond."

 

Coco fell to the pile of snow. She way lying there for a second, shocked. It's been a long time since she fell down while flying... She knew exactly when it was. She'd woken up in a hospital looking totally different and having a cutie mark that day.

She decided to finish her journey by hooves. It wasn't a long distance, after all.. She finally reached the university gate and tried to run inside.

She made the whole hall wet with melting snow. It felt weird, knocking on her own doors... but she did it.

(Whoa. That's depressing.)

 

Nightfall was about to eat some of his sushi when he heard a knock on the door. He got up and opened it, preparing an explanation that Coco wasn't available, when he noticed it was Coco at the door.

"Coco! You don't need to knock on your own door! Please, come in quickly. You look cold," he added. He magically teleported a towel to her.

"Wrap up in this. I'll see if I can help Diamond make some tea."

(It is sad but the whole thing makes you rather confused because it's like tadada I'm on a beach talking with a girl about bananafish and then he goes to his hoter room and kills himself..)

"Hello..Uh.. thank you." she got off everything she could once again and wrapped herself into a towel. Her mane and wings were full of melting snow. She took a piece of rug to wipe her frames.

"I'm okay. A little of snow hasn't killed anyone so far.  Everything okay? No problems? How did he react?" she seemed to be tired, but still curious.

Slimy heard her voice and ran to the door. His eyes filled with joy. "Miss Cocodrillo, I was so afraid." he said, taking her hooves into his. She gently patted him on the head. Then she unpacked her bag - luckily, nothing got wet. She added the books into one of the stacks and put the dress on her bed, because there was no other place where to put them. Slimy couldn't take his eyes of her. He was too scared that she could disappear again.

Slide's jaw dropped. 'Where did she get this crazy idea?' He tried to think of what to do, honestly having no clue. He paced around her room a bit, trying to think. "Hmmm....Give me a minute...." 'Alright, I have to do something awesome," he thought. "The movies are pretty lame, and typical. If I'm going to surprise her, then I'm going to blow her mind. Too bad I don't have, like, Wonderbolts Tickets or simething like that. Urgh.....' He then stopped. "Wait, I've got it!" He said. "Follow me, Lite. I'm going to give you the best first date ever!" He then grabbed her hoof, allowing her to follow him, considering she was blindfolded. He grabbed some food from an Italian Place in the student center, and then climbed many stairs until he reached the top of the dorms. There was a metal gate around, protecting ponies, but other than that, it showed a perfect view of the town. He spread out a blanket and laid the food ojt, and then lit to candles. "Okay, you can take off your blindfold now." He waited, hoping she would like it.

"No problems, Coco. Although... He told me how you taught him the color red, and it had an effect. When I told him I liked deep blue as my favorite color, he called it the color of falling alone at night... It's interesting, the way it works..."

He smiled.

"But is it your own thought plan like that, Coco? "

Diamond stepped out of the kitchen when she heard Coco at the door. "Hey Coco, did everything go alright ? Did you get your dress and stuff ?" She asked. "I made sushi but no worries...everything has been cleaned up." She said, smiling and trotting over to the door.

Coco saw that Raindrop had woken up. She carresed her. "Sorry for waking you up again, kitty cat."

"?" Coco looked at Nightfall with surprise. "Teaching him colours wasn't the point... the point was the emotions." she said. "He said that because it made him feel so.. it's not like he doesn't like you or something."

She was actually surprised, but even more fascinated how Slimy expressed his feelings on his own. Dark blue is after all a calm colour, serious to disheartening, colour of distance and depth, meditating and sadness. What could these feelings express better than falling all alone into the deep, but empty night sky? He haven't heard about calmness, seriousness, disheartening, sadness and the others after all.

"Hello, Diamond. Yes, quite. I have everything I need.." she said. "Well, at least for now."  she added.

"Thank you, Diamond. I hope you had no problems with finding stuff...I really need to improve my kitchen equipment somehow.. I don't use it much so that's why it is in this state.." 

Slimy was watching her. Her knees were more weak then before. He haven't seen her eating anything. He took his plate with rest of his sushi and dashed to Coco.

"Here."

Coco stroked him behind his ears. "Uh.. thank you, Slimy. I guess I'll taste one." Slimy took one with the eating sticks and tried to feed her with it. "Geez, Slimy.. I can eat on my own.." she knitted her brows and blushed.

Nightfall suppressed a chuckle as Slimy tried feeding Coco, and stood next to Diamond.

"Seeing as you're back with the things you need, I suppose Diamond and I should now let you be."

He smiled warmly at Diamond, then at Coco.

"Have a good night, Coco."

He started moving slowly towards the door.

"Wait, I'll escort you.. at least to the door."

She followed Nightfall&Diamond.

"Slimy, don't worry. I'll be there in a minute. I promise."

She closed her door. The hall was empty.. so she didn't mind being wrapped in towels.

"Thank you so much for this.. If you ever need my help, just tell me..  Was really everything okay? Haven't he said something weird or something?"

"I could feel that there was something wrong with him. Like a bananafish waiting for death.."

Lite took off her blindfold, immediately seeing a view of the town, mesmerized already. After viewing that for a while, she looked to see that there was a small candlelit picnic sitting right next to her. She smiled, looking at Slide.

 

"I love this surprise!", she exclaimed, laying down on the blanket, waiting for him to follow. "Let's eat!"

Slide joined her, looking out to the lights of the city. He remembered the first time he found this place, and how he had been mezmerized by the city lights and the beauty of it all. He felt disappointed that she hadn't seen that. He began to eat the food, looking at Lite's eyes, illuminated by the candles. "I love coming out here," he said after finishing what he was eating. "Barely anypony knows aboout it. It's peaceful. And, it's a nice view, the city and all. I used to play out here all the time. I couldn't think of a better place to take you..."

Lite smiled, already finishing up what food she had been given and looked down onto the city. "It's really pretty... I'm glad you brought me here... At least you got to go outside... Master Sombra would never let me outside the Void... Well, there was that one time when I decided to sneak out of the Void once, but he punished me for that. I couldn't blame myself that time... I saw a playground which had a few fillies in it, and I wanted to join them. It felt... good to see happiness."

He nodded at her story. "It's okay, now." He then chuckled. "Of course, I'm not sure we're allowed up here, but, who cares? As long as we don't burn down the building with candles..." He sighed, reaching across the cloth and holding Lite's hooves. "I'm just glad I have somepony to take up here with me, now. Somepony to appreciate the beauty of a city, the beauty and emotion of music, too. I just can't believe somepony as perfect as you exists..."

She listened to Nightfall. "Well.. keep in mind that until today, he was just a bunch of ooze closed in my closet... He doesn't know what is supposed to be normal an what is supposed to be unusual. Everything he saw me or you two do or anything you've asked him was percieved as that "normal way" of acting. That's why he needs to be around other ponies more.. "

She sighed.

"He needs to get used to be without me.. what if I'll have to leave him one day.. For a longer time, or maybe forever.."

It was getting dark outside. "Time is too fast. I guess I'll go back now. Thank you."

She turned and walked back to her room.

Her boots where still sitting just outside the door.

 

Nightfall faked a yawn.

"I think it's time I got some rest. Do you still want to spend the night in my room?"

He smiled at her, and jokingly leaned into her for a moment before starting down the hall towards his room, dancing a little and fluttering his wings.

"Well I mean...if you're ok with that." She chuckled at Nightfall's little dance down the hall trotted over to her room and picked up her boots. "Is it ok if I keep these inside ? I wouldn't want them stolen...I mean, they would probably be fine but better safe than sorry." She said.

"Just because of you, Diamond, I've been working hard to keep my room clean. And I've painted a section, with permission, a slightly lighter blue than my coat. I really hope you like it..."

The second she set her eyes on the newly painted wall, her face lit up with a smile. "Oh Nightfall it looks Wonderful." She said, running over and hugging him tightly. "And you almost blend in." She said, looking at Nightfall's coat then at the wall which was a little bit lighter than Nightfall...but they were pretty close.

Sadly though, Lite was too busy remembering her own past and not listening to Slide's compliments. She laid down on the blanket, looking up at the sky.

 

"...Then there was that time where I tried to form a small object into a shadow flame... The spell backfired and it hurt my flank... Everyone thinks that small spot on my flank is my cutie mark, when it's just a scar... Oh, and that time where I left the Void again... And actually pissed off Master Sombra again... Instead of manual labor, I got scorched by shadow flames..."

Diamond happily followed Nightfall into his room. She placed her boots next to the door and turned around to face the room. The second she set her eyes on the newly painted wall, her face lit up with a smile. "Oh Nightfall it looks Wonderful." She said, running over and hugging him tightly. "And you almost blend in." She said, looking at Nightfall's coat then at the wall which was a little bit lighter than Nightfall...but they were pretty close.

 

"That was the point, I guess."

He smiled too, hugging her tightly as well.

"I'm glad you like it. I liked it and thought you would like it, so I got permission to do it."

He blushed a little, letting go of her.

"It was basically only for you, Diamond. Not fully, but very close."

Lila exited Shades room and stood outside the door for a moment trying to think of what to do next. *I could go see Arcane, but would that seem desperate?* She decided it was best to not randomly show up at his door and decided to go back to her room. When she got there it was still empty. Cascade always seemed to be out and about while she stayed in all the time. Lila felt a ping of sadness as she crawled into her bed and pulled the covers over herself.

"That was the point, I guess."

He smiled too, hugging her tightly as well.

"I'm glad you like it. I liked it and thought you would like it, so I got permission to do it."

He blushed a little, letting go of her.

"It was basically only for you, Diamond. Not fully, but very close."

Diamond nuzzled him. "You didn't have to do it because of me...but I am still very flattered that you thought of me." She smiled. "Now let me just go grab my Pj's...or." She pulled off her jeans and her shirt...she was now kinda naked. She hopped onto Nightfall's bed and curled up under the covers. "Well, You coming ?" She asked, sticking her head out from under the blankets.

Diamond nuzzled him. "You didn't have to do it because of me...but I am still very flattered that you thought of me." She smiled. "Now let me just go grab my Pj's...or." She pulled off her jeans and her shirt...she was now kinda naked. She hopped onto Nightfall's bed and curled up under the covers. "Well, You coming ?" She asked, sticking her head out from under the blankets.

 

Nightfall blushed quite a deep red.

"H-hang on a second."

He disappeared into the bathroom for a couple of seconds, and came out wearing just his pajama bottoms. He climbed into the covers, growing yet more red in the cheeks.

"Ok... I'm here now."

He chuckled a little.

Slide was confused, but also concerned that Lite was rambling. "Lite?" She kept going. "Lite? Lite Diamond? Lite, come back. It's okay, Sombra's gone, I'll protect you..." 'Ugh, I really need a trombone right now...' Though he squinted just thinking about it, Slide resorted to what he hought was the worst possible thing. He lifted his hoof, and, as lightly as he could with still soe force, slapped Lite. "Lite, I'm sorry I did that, I had to get you out of that...memory..."
