When Nightfall finished explaining what had happened to him, Diamond stayed quiet for a moment, Then she said. "I...I'm sorry Nightfall, My parent's were rich mean and grumpy...When they died they left everything to me...But everytime I see something that was their's I don't want it...I don't really like having any connection's to them...But I can't imagine what that would be like." She said, Following the waitress to a table and sitting down.

 

"So we both don't have any parents..."

"That makes us seems kinda sad... But it's something we have in common, so it's a start."

"Really..? You're going to start with something so dreadful?"

"It is dreadful, but-"

"No buts. If it is dreadful, drop it."

He looked down, slightly sad.

Cascade filled up a small plate with food at the counter, then lead Rambler to a small table for two. Sitting, she glanced around surreptitiously, and when she saw that the cafeteria was mostly empty, save themselves and a lonely colt in the far corner, she decided to go ahead...

 

"Well..." She paused, trying to figure out how to phrase what it was she wanted to tell him. "These...  Aren't my real wings." She fluttered them sadly as she watched Rambler's face apprehensively, waiting for a reaction.

The cafeteria had finally cleared out except two ponies and myself, and I finally stood up as the two evacuated from the counter and sat down. I went over to the row of foods, and I took a few and put them on a plate. He thanked the cafeteria ponies and turned around, realizing there were still many ponies on the other side of the cafeteria, which was separated by a wall with two arches to go through. Not interested what was going on on the other side, I went to a table near the two ponies still in the east wing of the cafeteria, and silently ate, shutting off the words from the table nearby so the ponies would keep their privacy by constructing a barrier of air that worked like a sound barrier.

Lila turned to the ponies who were gathering around. one of which was the grey mare. "Yeah, im just trying to talk to him and he's going on about how he thinks im going to beat him up or something." she said in a calm tone. She hadn't noticed the wall of fire was still up until one of them screamed. Lila looked behind her. *oops* She quickly dispelled the wall of black flame and gave the mare a sheepish smile. "Sorry."

"What was up with that wall of fire? I'm surprised it didn't burn the building down!" Night Song exclaimed, in a voice of shock and very little fury. "Hope none of you are burned or anything..." she said concernedly. She had no idea that the fire was pretty much harmless.

The Void seemed to be a bit testy today, as Lite continued to argue against the shadows and shades.

 

"Can I not find happiness for once?! Do you think it was funny that I was the oddball in here, just because I couldn't go to the stupid Crystal Kingdom?! Was it funny when I had realized Master Sombra was actually a giant slaveholder?! Was it funny when I had to go through pain and suffering, and basically live in the worst shack in the world?! Was it funny when... when..."

 

She ran out of the Void, opening a portal back to the real world, immediately throwing off Diamond's dress, tossing it aside on Diamond's bed. She climbed onto her own bed, and started crying.

 

Why is it like this? Nothing good ever comes from my happiness... Damn it, where's Diamond when you need her? I need a shoulder to cry on...

Im just wanting to talk to him, but he freaked out." She turned to Ty with a serious expression. "Can you not run away this tme and I promise I wont do anything to hurt you." *gee, that made it sound like you would hurt him if he ran. Great job there, wonderful work* she thought sarcastically to herself waiting for Ty to respond.

"You're so attentive to her, you didn't realize you just drank alcohol and didn't make that weird face you do when you drink it... Does that make this a date..?"

Chemistry went pretty fast for Sky. As his mind was mostly pre-occupied by the mare he had met this morning. As he left the class he decided to go back to Prancers hall. He went into a room that he assumed was vacant and began unpacking his things that he had been carrying around all day.

Night Song took note of Typhoon's words and decided to back off. She sensed that some sensitive and maybe even personal things were going to be exchanged between the two. She also figured that it won't be safe for Shade to stick around, so she left for lunch and gestured for Shade to follow her.

Cascade took a deep breath, then said, "Well, that's what that potion I drank yesterday was for. It gave me these..." She fluttered her feathery wings for emphasis. "But it's probably going to wear off, and I don't know when." She closed her eyes and took a bite of her sandwich to avoid having to say anything more for the moment.

Lite was still in her bed, softly crying. Why did she even go into the Void, knowing that the shadows and shades would just tease her? And why wasn't Diamond back yet? It was already getting dark, and the stores were about to close...

 

In the meantime, her horn emitted black, as a obsidian dome appeared over her bed, engulfing the bedframe, and her bed. No one could see inside the dome, but Lite was able to see everything clear outside it...

Cascade blushed slightly, but smiled all the same. She didn't know why she had expected him to turn her away...  She extended a hoof, grasping his briefly, and saying, "Don't worry, I know what you mean." She withdrew, and, eyes twinkling, said, "It looks like you're bursting with something to say as well. Go on."

Well it certainly looked like Cascade. She cast a glance over to Star but didn't seem to recognize him behind the book. But there was something odd about her, something he couldn't quite put his hoof on. Her wings! They were... normal? What happened to them? Last he saw them they were similar to that of aquatic animals, it's what made her so unique. Had she fixed them with magic? Maybe he would find out in time, but for now he did not want to get involved.
