writing I chose the heart

I remember not so long ago

That there was a question looming in my mind

And of this precarious, and ever so curious question

An answer lay waiting, just out of reach

 

I sought this

An answer to a question with wieght beyond words

And to find such, I contemplated all scenarios

And finally, after oh so much inner debate

I found an answer to all my qualms

 

The mind, albeit great and knowledgable

Is not of the strength that is our heart and emotions

And so after all this time of thought

I accepted my heart as sovereign

 

Yet, now I am troubled once more

My heart may control my actions

But my emotions control my heart

And today I find my heart to be breaking

 

Is this what it is like to have a heart?

To always know a pain, from some source to another

Always finding a way to give love, but never receiving such

 

Amidst my new life, of one with such feeling

I am lost
