Through the fires of hell itself

Or the fields of agony, we go

Indifferent to the world we seek to save

Finding neither joy, nor sorrow in the goal we must achieve

It is through our stone hearts that we find the strength to continue

Knowing all too well of the trail of pain we carve

Yet, we know how the end must play

And, it is with that in mind that we continue

 

Our blank expressions are ones filled with the pain we sewed

Of the terror that nightly shrouds our dreams

The haunting luminescence of a reaper at play

Yet, we mustn’t let ourselves be our own victims

And so we soldier on

 

Awake in mind, but numb in spirit

Our own deeds are the things that we must fight

Adding another nightmare to your growing list

 

We are fighting, here and there

With an enemy, and ourselves

For with every one soul struck down is another meant to haunt your dreams

And such weight is a curse far greater than one could dare to imagine

Yet we continue, soldiering onward

Day after day

Fight after fight

Loss after loss

We soldier on
