Crap. Flicker thought as the creature pinned her to the ground. It was coming dangerously close to her neck now. She began panting as  the new beeing drew closer to the vital veins in her throat. In desperation she lashed out with her hooves, hoping to damage its face long enoug for her to get away.

 

The creature snarled, its head snapping back as she connected with it. It shook its head, releasing the pegasus, then grinned evilly. A ring of green flame surrounded the creature momentarily, then it vanished. In its place, wings extended, hovered... Solar Flicker. Or at least an exact duplicate.

One of them shudders, then spews a long green flame from his mouth.

 

The dragon dashes towards the demon like ponies he lowered his body and with a flap of his wings slides over the ground below the green fire gaining speed. His eyes glow again and lighting bolts sparks around his claws he reincorporates right in front of the pony hitting him with an volt powered palm.

 

As she does, a large buglike creature emerges from the cloud, slamming into her. It snaps at her neck as they plummet towards the ground

After impact Colt raised his eyes towards the cloud expecting to see the sisters safe, instead his eyes glimpse a falling orange mare towards the ground. She seems to be struggling against something.

 

The dragon runs towards the falling pegasus, thing that is no hard after the crowd stoped to listen the words from some pony he spread his wings and makes a dive attempting to catch her before the fatal fall occurs @,

The guard shudders and collapses as electricity arcs through his body, twitching wildly. As Colt jumps towards the falling pony, a gust of wind throws him forwards, and he effortlessly makes the catch, sailing across the open ground and alighting on a nearby roof.

"Damn it, it's not good enough. I can't exactly fight in this state...
What can I do? Maybe a distraction is in order. Run through the crowd,
gain their attention, and leave them open for the civs to strike. It's a
suicide mission, but it's their only chance."

I brace my self and take a deep breath then run into the crowd of the possessed ponies.

Steel froze as his ear twitched, being especially accustomed to detect the sound of wind over feather.  He turned his head around and locked his gaze on the incoming threat.  Knowing he could probably withstand some of the attacker's attack and fight better on the ground, he swung around and faced the griffon, planting his hooves in the dirt bracing for the imminent attack.

 

The griffon, unprepared for the pegasus' sudden action, attempts to pull out of the dive. Screeching, he crashes into the ground, skidding to a stop before the pegasus. He squeals, snapping in futility at Steel's hooves and struggling to get to his talons.

Steel blinked, knowing he needed to think quick.  He dropped his saddlebag and pulled the leather strap from it, mounting onto the back of the griffon to try and tie it up.  Through the toil of fur and feather, hoof and claw, the strap was almost cut by one of the razor-sharp talons, yet Steel managed to subdue the griffon.  The forelegs were strapped in a seemingly rather uncomfortable position onside it's chest, the feet of the rear legs tucked under the strap as well.  He sat by it's head, and picked his hat off the ground and into it's rightfully place on his head. He cleared his throat and asked, "You speak English?"  His Germane accent was thick, especially not being in Equestria for more than a few months.

(I roled Int 9 Char 5 Wis 17 i will try to keep things fair and legit)

As Colt and the fire like pegasus landed he immediately saw the duplicated mare exactly the same one as the pegasus in his claws “What in the world is going on?” were the dragon’s thoughts with a mind full of confusion (int 9). Then he suddenly felt kicks and resistance for the fiery Pegasus on his arms (Solar Flicker may think he is part of the attack or a monster as my roll on charisma was soooo bad). He let the mare out of his arms and turned around to see the remaining mad ponies below.

With golden glint in his eyes he sent another stream of ice magic towards the closest enemies he could see. It was till then he noticed the change at the color of the sky, the sun was tainted with a red glow and his soul shook with fear “Celestia…no” were his thoughts filled with concern.

(As I said, I rolled a 20 for dexterity, so I should be dodging these hits.)

 

I stare into the crowd of civilians slowly dying out.

"Alright, time to make a difference. And most likely die after all this."

I check my leg to make sure the wound is alright. Then nod and gallop into the crowd of possessed ponies doing small things to distract them like, tripping them up, tugging on their clothes, or generally being a nuisance to them. I dodge any attempts at them attacking me, causing them to lose focus and allow the civilians a short chance to retaliate against their enemies.

"Now, strike now!"

Pondah shouted to the royal guards near the castle door. "Hey! Let me in! I am not one of the mad ones! Let me in so I can survive. I can't fight hoof to hoof with these mad ponies. I need help! Pondah dashed towards the castle in a large arc so as to avoid the large brawl currently going on. "I hope to Celestia I can get in!"

"Glad I'm up here... But that dragon needs help. I wish I had my weapons with me, but I never thought I'd need them."

He gazes at the sights in front of him, the group of ponies charging at the lone pony, a griffon flying around, the dragon trying to give crowd control.

"What to do? I can't just let her die... Buck, I'll do what I can. I'm sorry... dragon, but this is an order I'm gonna need to disobey."

I fly down towards the lone pony to pick her up off the ground.

"Don't worry, you're gonna be fine... Now just to get you to a safe spot. Just hold on, I'm not used to this."

I fly as fast as I can to the nearest balcony and set her down before taking a rest myself.

"So uhh... Got a name?"

Star Rain got very surprised when she got lifted off the ground. She was about to blast this pony in the face, but he didn't seem possessed. When that question came up, she kept her name to herself, being the distrustful pony she can be. She was glad when that pony left, but it looked like she wasn't going to be safe for long. Some of those ponies were storming building, so to protect herself, she attempted to cast a simple bubble shield spell. She hasn't been studying shield spells for long though, so she failed.

For force magic, use wisdom. But 8's a failure by most standards. I'm pretty sure you picked up on it, but, ya know, just throwing it out there.

The ponies rally behind him, charging against their distracted enemies. The tide of battle slowly turns; having a dragon on their side didn't hurt either.

"Okay then. That was more effective than I thought it would be. And I'm still alive. I wonder if I could get a path to my house, I could grab my set of daggers and help the others. But it's on the far side of
town..."

He looks up at the sky and notices it's change in color for the first time.

"Strange. Where are the princesses? What happened to the sky? I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss the ruins in the Everfree forests. But honestly, what else to do, I gave them the fighting chance they need, and saved the one mare. Hey... Who's that over by the castle gates?"

I fly over to the gates slowly watching the tide of the battle turn.

"Good job Colt, you helped the poor sods."

He thought to himself before arriving at the gates.

"Uh... Sir, I'm not one of those crazies, I'm the one who just gave that battle speech. Just wanted to know if you knew what was going on."

"Damn it. I'm locked out." Pondah though to himself. "I can only think of 2 courses of action now. Entering that huge fight or find a way to get the hell out of Canterlot." Pondah suddenly heard a voice behind him. "You talking to me? Anybody even talking? Please don't be a nutjob."

"Yeah, I'm talking to you, don't worry you're not crazy. Odds are there's not gonna be a way out of Canterlot until the fights over, but the ponies fighting are doing well. I made sure of that. I'm not much of a fighter though, I fight with words. Apparently it's effective too, look at the change in morale for the fighting ponies."

Colt gains his attention and points towards the crowd.

The ponies(she isn't even sure they're ponies anymore) got onto the balcony that Star Rain was on. She could jump off of the balcony, but decided not to for some reason she didn't know. Her horn glowed once more as she prepared another magical attack on the now-evil civilians.

"Phew." Said Pondah with great relief. "I'm Pondah. I'm not really a fighter either. Nor great wordsmith. I more of a thinker myself. I think we should stick together. Safety in Numbers and all. Let's get going thougb. I'm not standing around waiting to be killed. You coming, whateveryournameis?"

"Names Colt Fortune. Just call me Colt though. That's a good idea. Now I we could try and head to my house, I have stuff there that could come in handy, such as weapons, tools, and such. They'd probably help if this becomes an outspread. But I'll leave the final decisions up to you. So uhh, I guess we should get going sir... whateverYOURname is."

A grin crossed his face at the joke.

"Weapons, tools and such eh? Best you lead the way then." Said Pondah. "After all, I don't know where you live. We will have to be quiet though. There is 2 of us and Celestia knows how many nut-jobs out there. I reckon it's a job for cunning and quiet, not violence and noises."

A medium-sized energy ball went flying toward Star Rain's attackers. It left a huge mark on them, but that didn't seem to bother them. They retaliated by striking her with their hooves and their horns(some of them are unicorns, using their horns as a mundane weapon). Without thinking, she side-stepped to let them hit nothing.

Colt chuckle a bit.

"That's what treasure hunters do best. Well that, and I need something to compensate for in a fight if my charm doesn't work."

He pulls out a of Canterlot from his bag.

"Alright, if we're here, my house is over here... Shouldn't be too long before we get there, but I need you to watch my back, if there are any of the things coming our way, I'll try and fly you away. Now follow me Pondah."

He motions him to follow and starts to walk towards the direction of his house.

"Treasure hunter you say?" Enquired Pondah. "Any ancient weaponry or priceless artifacts I could help leave your house?" Pondah gave a cheeky grin to Colt and stayed close by his side. "I've always been a fan of old stuff. Never really had a chance to follow it though. Makes me feel like I wasted my time looking at Ancient Equestrian text, given I never had a chance to put it to use." Pondah let out a sigh after these final words.

"I was on a mission to find these old weapons, but it went wrong. I was lured into a trap by some kind of ancient tribe or something. I barely got out alive. That's why I'm walking with a limp. All I've really pulled in is a few gems, although I do have the ancient sapphire "The Dragon's Tear" ever hear about that one?"

He looks at the fellow ancient scholar with inquiring eyes.

"Can't say I have. Sounds familiar though. Is it one of those old legends like the Mirror Pool?" Pondah replied, feeling disappointed with the fact he didn't know. "But go on, fill me in. Anything to take my mind off of life. Starting to think this whole "New Pondah" idea wasn't as good as I hoped. Must be my bad luck cursing me."

He smiles at hearing the ignorance of the situation.

"I'd be happy to. It's nothing quite like the mirror pool. It's a unnaturally large sapphire that was created from magically fusing a bunch of sapphires together. This was done to fit into a queen's crown as the main jewel. After it was finished though the sapphire attracted the attention of a dragon. The dragon was very young, only in his teens so he sneaked into the castle late at night and stole away with the queen and her crown. A mare who happened to be the daughter of this queen went to go find her. And after she found the dragon, her sentiment and love for her mother made the dragon shed tears onto the gem, which made it grow even larger. The dragon allowed them both to leave with the gem, but soon after they returned the queen felt different, it had turned out she had changed into an Alicorn the next day after sleeping with the crown on her head. This gem was then thrown away into the vault until the empire faded away. I led a 1 colt mission to retrieve it, and it turns out the place was hardly guarded. I'm a bit skeptical on the power however, as nothing has really happened for me. I'm assuming the Alicorn part may be legend. But the gem is very real."

Solar Flicker squirmed out of the dragon's reach, terrified. Why were there so many enemies all of a sudden? The creature that had attacked her turned into a carbon copy of herself. Solar Flicker looked her up and down. Every detail was the same, even the black suit that she wore to hide her defining mark. Doubtless the cutie mark was identical as well. "Not bad," She commented. "But I think that's a better look for me." She flew up and kicked her twin's head.
