How old is discord?

After thinking about this for a while, I realized Discord is a lot older than most thought. 

Lets start by explaining what an eon is, generally it is referred to as really long period of time, but it's usually half a billion years. Him saying that the ponies where the most fun he's had in eons details that he's at least been around for a billion years. Discord is really old. Still, whose to say he hasn't been around for more? He could have existed before Ponies even were created. Anyways,

what do you, the reader think of this?

Discord is a spirit of a fundamental law of nature, and is thus immortal. He's been around since the beginning of time. That is, has, and unless specifically proven otherwise in the show, will always be my head canon.

He is basically a god of Chaos so think Loki from Marvel.  He's been around since a little after the beginning   I compare it to greek mythology.  There were 2 big (I'll call them Titans) and they gave birth to numerous sons and daughters.  Discord was one of those.

Hmm... I've thought about that line a lot as well. I think that Discord is extremely old, seeing as he has probably been around for as long as chaos existed! And seeing as chaos is underlying basically everything (as well as order), he should technically be as old as the world. Of course, he could have also been created by something, such as the first war between creatures or something, because a war causes a ton of chaos. He also could just be the living, breathing embodiment of chaos that could have been made once chaos began spreading. It seems that Celestia and Luna could not defeat him until they found the elements, which means he himself is more powerful than them alone. He could very well have been around since before the ponies!

 

Edit: There are so many ways Discord could have come into being that I can't even list them all. But my thinking is that Discord has been around since the beginning of time, because chaos has always existed. And honestly, how could chaos exist without Discord!

Since he is literally the imbodiment of chaos I suppose he has been around since the first act of chaos.

When I think of him I think of him like a type of god, that has been around since the beginning.

With his manipulation powers it's not hard to imagin that he seems like a god and probably would have been around since the first act of chaos.
