@,

Night Song turned toward Discharge and felt happy that her special talent in singing actually helped somepony and not just earn her bits to survive. "Your welcome, Discharge," she softly replied. She looked toward the night sky, thinking Aqua's spirit could be seen up there. But she only saw a very faint whisp. Turning toward the distance ahead, she thought A water burial would be nice. But we have to keep going...

@@MagicalStarRain,

Discharge looked back over his shoulder at Night Song. "Night Song, would you...come over here for a moment please?"

He then turned back to the water, watching it calmly flowing downstream. He didn't think there would be a waterfall at the end...it seemed far too calm.

At the mention of her name, Night Song's ears twitched and she turned toward Discharge again. She saw him at the stream, assuming he was wondering if the stream is the best method for burial. She walked over to his side and asked,"Is something else wrong?"

"I just...want your opinion" he said, gesturing for her to sit down.

"We're running out of time...it'll be morning soon, and we have to move at first light. But...you understand I can't leave Aqua like that. What do you think I should do?" The tone of his voice was a serious one, but it was at the same time flat.

Night Song nodded in agreement, but she couldn't think of a good way to put Aqua's body to rest. She thought for about five minutes, then she came up with a suggestion that she wasn't too confident would work. "Find the deepest part of the stream and let him sink there?" she suggested with uncertainty.

Discharge lowered his head and closed his eyes. A single tear ran down his cheek and he nodded his head slowly.

"We don't have time for a proper burial...I...I guess that would work." He stood up and turned to face the camp. "I think he'd like it in the water anyway...his cutie mark is a water droplet, after all." This seemed to bring some solace to Discharge, as a smile crept slowly on to his lips. "It's what he would have wanted...yeah...for sure." He was talking to himself again, in his usual way - to try and convince himself he was doing the right thing. "Thank you, again."

Quip sighed and left the carriage slowly, as to not make himself hurt more than he already did. If they wanted to use the carriage for a burial, might as well let them.

"Are we waiting for something? Or are we going to go? Or have we decided to stop this early in?" he asked nopony in particular.

@,

Discharge had been staring at Aquas corpse for some time now.

He eventually sighed when Quip left the carriage. "We're waiting for daybreak, then we'll move." he looked off to the distance, seeing nothing but blackness surrounding the camp. "You don't need to leave the carriage. Night Song suggested a deep spot in the water. I just...need somepony to help me move him."  He paused for a moment "...and something heavy" he added, walking over to the body.

It wasn't long before he had Aqua in his wings. They may not be great for flying, but they where incredibly strong when it came to lifting things. He lifted Aquas corpse easily, and began walking slowly towards the water. It took him a few minutes, but eventually he stepped in, and began looking for a deep spot. "Probably should've done this first, eh ol' boy?"

Unable to get some sleep he so needed, Maroon Sky found himself picking on the shrapnels from his hooves and chest. He momentarily winced whenever his telekinesis found and pulled one of the shrapnels. When the last of the offending metal pieces came out from his fetlock, he finally noticed that Ardent had carried Aqua's body to the river. His eyes followed the pegasus. Maroon Sky sighed. He knew it's far too late to do anything about it, he could only hope that there wouldn't be anymore death for the rest of the journey.

With a small sigh Maroon Sky stood up then trotted to the bonfire, and sat near it, carefully giving himself some distance from everypony. He stared into the fire, hoping that it would give him some much needed relaxation.

(OOC: I have no idea what to say, so... When will we get to sleep?)

((OOC: Yeah...about that :P I may have written myself into a corner haha, just uh...just lemme dump this body real quick))

After scanning the murky depths of the water in the dim conditions, Discharge finally found something that he thought looked deep enough. He carefully waded over, being steady in his footing so as not to trip and fall, he then slowly lowered Aqua's body into the depths. After brushing several large rocks over the body he flared his wings and flew to shore, heading straight over to the fire to dry off. "Should've probably taken my jacket off..." he grumbled.

He looked over at Maroon Sky and saw the somewhat frustrated look he had "trouble sleeping?" he asked, an oddly soft tone to his voice "I can't say as I blame you, after tonight, i'll be surprised if anypony gets a solid night." He looked up at the sky, the moon shifting slowly in the sky, partially obscured by approaching fog. "My guess...we got about...5 hours before first light."

@,

Maroon Sky, unsure on how what he should say on an occasion like this, chose to remain silent. He slowly nodded to Ardent instead. He was somewhat glad that Ardent finally came back to his senses. When Ardent said that they only had about five hours before sunrise Maroon Sky stood up and stifled a yawn. "I think I'll try to force myself to sleep. I don't think we can afford to have a drowsy unicorn when we continued on our journey," he said to Ardent. He blinked a few times before trotting back to the carriage. "Well, if you will excuse me."

Maroon Sky pulled out his blanket from his saddlebag then settled himself right next to the carriage, his back pressed to its hard exterior. The adrenaline rush from the earlier battle had yet to wear off. While his body urged himself to get some rest, his ears stood up straight as if trying to catch even the faintest growl from the darkness.

Before he knew it, the land of dreams had claimed his consciousness, leaving his body to recuperate alone.

"He's definitely got the right idea" Discharge mumbled. "I would suggest...everypony do what they can to rest up. I know I will..." he announced to the camp.

And with this, he flared his wings and took to the air, landing softly on top of the carriage. He curled up on the hard wood, it wasn't overly comfy, but at least it was dry and there was enough heat from the fire to keep him warm.

He did his best to get some shut eye, not exactly feeling the most...calm minded right now. It wasn't long before he was back on familiar ground however.

Discharge was lay on the ground amongst the flowers letting the atmosphere take him in.

"Enjoying yourself?" Came a familiar sounding voice. He immediately raised his head, and began to stand.

She stood a far way off, down the end of a cobblestone path in the gardens of Canterlot, but there she was - Princess Luna.

Discharge didn't exactly know what to say, he had been in several audiences with royalty, but this was...different.

"Don't let me interrupt you. I'm just wondering how fare your travels?" she asked with a stern and demanding, yet somewhat comforting tone.

"I...they...well..." Discharge was lost for words, something that never happened to him "Not very well, my Princess."

"So I understand. Your companion has fallen has he not? Aqua, I believe?"

"He wasn't my companion...he was a great friend." he replied sharply.

Princess Luna seemed to ignore this, clearly understanding how he felt - she let it slide. "You need to understand that sacrifice is necessary, and if you fail in this journey then the fate of Aqua will be the fate of us all." With this, Discharge awoke with a start, shaking the carriage as he grabbed the sides to steady himself.

He looked around the camp, slightly confused 'Did Princess Luna just visit my dreams?' he thought...'That's not possible...is it?' he shook his head, and lay back down attempting to get to sleep once more.

((So, if everyone wants to sleep, or stay awake that's cool - I really don't mind what you do. Just...let me know whenever you're ready for the time-skip and we'll get on our way :) oh...and sorry for the novel, I got carried away.))

"Your welcome," Night Song said drowsily. She then flew over to the corpses of the Timberwolves to get her arrows back. They were tipped with blood, but she didn't bother to wash it off. She placed the arrows back into her quiver, along with the arrows she didn't use. She then unrolled a sleeping, climbed into it, and went to sleep.

Lost Knowledge sighed. This hadn't exactly been the kind of day he had wanted to start the journey with. He couldn't help but feel partially responsible for everything that happened. He was the oldest in the group by quite a bit, and he saw it as his duty to look after them. Well, there was nothing that could be done about it now. He closed his eyes and tried to sleep.

Flame flew up into the sky and pulled a small cloud a little closer to the ground, he curled up on the cloud and closed his eyes, trying his best to ignore his aching leg. "Some first day." He muttered, rolling onto his back and staring up at the night sky.

Quip yawned and looked around the camp one last time before heading back to the carriage with his pack. He unravelled his sleeping bag and set it down on the floor of the carriage. He felt safer in there. 'Lets just hope Aqua can forgive us for what happened to him...'

Looking around, Goldseek saw that everypony was getting some sleep. He decided it was probably a good idea for him to do the same. It was going to be a long journey. They always were. He looked over to the river. What had happened. It just didn't make any sense. He leaned against a tree and closed his eyes, eventually falling asleep.

-Time Skip-

It wasn't long before the cold air crept in with the fog, coupled with the awkward night Discharge had, it was no surprise he woke so easily. Rubbing his eyes, he stood up and looked around. The fog was extremely thick, and he could barely see a few meters ahead of himself. "This is just getting better" he sighed, stepping forward and almost falling off the carriage. "Oh...right, carriage." He chuckled as he hopped off and flew to the ground. The fire had gone out, no surprise there, and everypony seemed to be asleep still - there WAS the surprise.

@

"Up and at 'em everypony, we have a lot of ground to cover to make up for lost time!" he shouted out to the group.

Peering into the carriage to check on Quip, he remembered how much he was moving around yesterday - "Quip?" he banged on the carriage once "Are you good to go today? We can't have you limping around on us and I don't think we can afford to carry you around."

As Discharge spoke, he checked his belongings - kukri, kunai, knife and club - check.

He looked at the floor, seeing his saddlebags on the ground in front of the carriage still. "Looks like i'm going to have to find some other way to carry my food..."

Quip was already awake, he was just trying to enjoy the warmth inside his sleeping bag. The pain from his wounds kept him up most of the night, but he was able to function properly now. "I'll be fiiine, don't worry about me" he said as he got out of his sleeping bag. He looked out towards Discharge and sighed. "I just might be a bit sleepy for a small while, didn't get the best of sleep last night"

Goldseek awoke and looked around to see almost nothing. At first he was considering it was a dream, then he realizing there was fog. He was cold, as the fire had gone out. He sighed, as he had not had the best sleep. He stood up, rubbing his eyes. It was time to get moving.

Night Song still had her wing blades on when she woke up. Now she had accidently cut herself in her sleep. She winced at this cut and crawled out of her sleeping bag. At first, she didn't remember what had happened yesterday, but then it all came crashing down like a tsunami. She fought desperately to keep a straight face.

Maroon Sky was stirred awake when he heard Ardent talking to Quip. He yawned. His dream was particularly a weird one, there was nothing but vast expanse of nothingness and an enormous effigy of Celestia's likeness, looming over him. Judging him. He had no idea what that meant, and he was not exactly interested to find out. He slowly stood up and shook the last of the drowsiness from his body.

"Fog?" Maroon Sky mumbled. The entire plain was covered in dense fog, he couldn't see anything past the doused bonfire. He involuntarily shivered from the cold. This would make retrieving his stone clubs an almost impossible task. He yawned. At least he still had most of his supplies next to him. Carefully he telekinetically lifted his saddlebag and fastened it on his back.

Flame gasped as he awoke. His leg felt even more stiff than the night before as he slowly sat up and yawned. He looked around and almost forgot he had slept on a cloud. He spread his wings with several stiff cracks and flew down to the ground, he landed softly but still stumbled slightly as a slight pain shot through his leg. "Well...good morning everypony." He said, making out a few figures in the thick fog.

He turned to Quip and gave him an unsure look..."well...if you're sure"

It was just as he was stuffing the rest of his things into his jacket, when he saw the blue pegasus land a few feet away. "You alright Flame Dancer?" he asked "seems a lot of us didn't get a great deal of sleep last night, and I didn't see you this morning, where did you go?"

Flame nodded. "My leg is just really stiff...and I slept on a cloud. I didn't bother bringing a sleeping pad thing...whatever they're called. A cloud is softer than Celestias bed in my mind...of course I don't really know how soft her bed is but I can imagine it would be very soft...not as soft as a cloud though." He gave a small smile and secured his saddlebag to his back.
