Would this Storyline work?

Cadence and SA invites everybody to the crystal kingdom(Not everybody but you know what I mean). They say they have a suprise. It is stated its been 9 Months since there wedding. And then they reveal a Baby Princess Skyla. As everyone is suprised Some New Pony appears and Kicknaps Skyla and this Pony is none other but Cadences Mom/Dad. Who is trying to take their grandchild with them.

Would this work?

There needs to be some kind of motivation.  Why would one of Cadence's parents try to take her child?  Beyond that, would Cadence's parents still be alive?  It's now clear that ordinary ponies can become Alicorns, and we don't know how long Cadence has been one of them.  Fundamentally, it's not a bad start, but it needs a bit more thought if you want your readers to take it seriously.

I'm not sure what you're getting at here.  Why would you be coming up with a plot that would match canon if you're not writing a fic or doing something similar?  Are you hypothising about the plotline of a future episode?  I'm confused .___.

 

And Celestia has plenty of obvious motivation for mentoring Twilight.  Twi is an *extremely* powerful caster and a dedicated student.  Celestia saw promise and potential in her, so she took her on.  Cadence's parents showing up and saying 'IMMA TAKE YOUR BABY NOW' is just completely arbitrary and random.

It needs to be more specific. I mean, it could work, but you'd need more details. I don't think you could make a good story with just the details you provided, no.

Well it could be an episode idea, but there are a few problems with the idea.

 

First, why would Cadence's not tell anypony that she was pregnant? She would have to tell somepony like Twilight, SA parents or even her own parents. There is just no meaning for her not tell anypony. Especially for eight mouths.  

 

Kinda like what Winged Anomaly said, why would Cadence's parents try and kidnapped their own grandchild? If it's away to bring them in the show, it's not a good way to do it. Now if it was a changeling that would work. Some kinda of pay back. 

 

It is a good way to bring in Princess Skyla and the kidnapping thing makes it different from "Baby Cakes." It just needs a little work.

There could be reasons - we don't even know who her parents are. They must be silblings to Celestia and Luna, but never showed up - not even at their daughter's wedding! It's possible they are just dead, then we can forget this idea. But maybe they've broken up with Cadence and Celestia... Or perhaps they rule over another land and need an heir for their throne!

 

I'm pretty sure it won't happen, but the idea isn't a bad one.

While the idea is good i think the Kidnapper's should not be Cadance's parents. The best person to have kidnap Cadance's baby would be queen chrysalis. Queen Chrysalis decides to steal the baby and raise it as the heir to the changlings throne. Why would she do this? Well seeing as she's witnessed how powerful shining armor was and seeing as she was foiled due to the amount of love Shining armor and Cadance have for each other it's easily seen that the baby will have incredible power and while being a powerful leader will also be able to feed the changelings for a while with her power.

The idea of an evil parent could work it just has to make sense why they would want to take the baby away. Ex.) King sombra is Princess candance's father he became corrupted by the power of the crystal heart and the power it possesed which is why he was imprisoned and also why princess cadance is the new ruler instead of her father.

 

Also you don't really have to explain it's been 9 months since the wedding just look at Mrs.cake she didn't show any signs of being pregnant and she gave birth to two foals!

Again I am not making a fanfic. I am just saying would this Idea work. I meam sure there are details but If this ever happened then the writers will know what to do like always.

I'm not say the ideas bad. It sounds like a pretty good idea. I'm just saying that it needs a little work before. Also they might have been at the wedding, we just did not see them or the writers felt they did not need to see them. Heck they might be dead.

You don't surprises anyone by saying, Hey I had a kid about 8 mouths ago. Thought I just tell you now. The surprises is telling everyone you are about to have kids. Not to mention there would be signs that someone is having a baby. Also Cadence would need some help with the baby and parents who have had a kid would work well.

 

Now you got me on the brother thing, but now that he is more involved in the show, he would at least tell Twilight or someone about the kid. 

 

Trollness is kind of a weak reason. There needs to be a really reason why there evil.

 

Still your idea is pretty good and I do think that it would be a good episode. The villains would just have to be different. Like Queen Chrysalis.

Well remember it IS a kids show. That seems pretty like a really mature of a plot to me...  Also even if they did the kid-napping  part (which I guess could POSSIBLY be O.K) they most-likely wouldn't do the grandparent part.

I do remember this is a kids show. And how it is more mature than Sombra and Chrysalis or the CMC trying to kill babs seeds?

I could see it happening, at least one of hasbro's toys would be viable on the tv show. But I don't get the whole Cadence parents thing, they should be dead by now. Or maybe not, Cadence can't be that old

That story sounds like an amazing way to introduce Princess Skyla; but, it needs a good plot twist. Just like the changlings, there needs to be some underlying yay factor that really pulls the entire episode into a perfect one; maybe something that builds up a feeling of sheer anxiety and looming danger, something mysterious and perfect. I love the plot start!
