    The only free program like this I know is Linux Multimedia Studio (lmms); not exactly idiot-proof, but I don't find it really hard to get used to, either.

    Okay, after everything got out of hoof for me this month (it still is when I think about it), I just managed to read it (comments are on its way via PM). Next, I am reading a text I was asked for via PM. That is enough for me at the moment, especially since there is another, rather big thing I agreed to beta, not to mention everything I want to write myself; so I am not taking new beta requests for now.

    This is still a thing, although I will not have much time up till that nasty physics exam in a week. Not to mention myself struggeling with my own word count (non-pony), but that is two things... Then again, your story is not too long, so I might even have a look at it this week.

    My fellow writers, I am willing to beta read at least two or three MLP-fanfictions of any kind up to 5000 Words length each. If your story is longer an excerpt will do (if I like it and have the time I might as well decide to do the rest of it). I will comment on general points as well as everything that strikes me, and answer specific questions if you have any. I will also abridge the text if you ask me or I feel there is a need to. The one thing I am sorry I cannot do is proper proofreading or stylistic analysis, since I am no native speaker. I would be glad to be able to help some of you to improve your writing, as well as learning from it myself. If you have something that does not fit the forum rules I won't mind, just send me your email address in that case so we can handle it that way. Looking forward to your stories!

    Sorry to desillusion you, but following the first link, I can easily see how everything there tells us that it's about a technology in audio-editing called "Direct Note Access" - even the very headline says: "DNA Direct Note Access - Edit individual notes in polyphonic audio recordings". It has nothing to do with Deoxyribonucleic acid at all other than sharing the same abbreviation. I'm really sorry if I wrong you, but do you even read your links?

    Sure it included a cake, and not just any but an extra super duper special hoofbaked cake with tons of extra love and rainbows in it! Then perhaps, the next part of the Daring Do series, a mini barrel of best Sweet Apple Acres Apple Cider, a stylish hat for special occasions, and a bottle of pine oil, against muscle fever.

    One of these moments it feels awesome to live in germany. I came back from holidays and stumbled upon this, and the next day I went to the nearest Burgerking. You don't have to take the menu but can buy them seperately, I think it was 3€. They look slightly younger as in FiM; anyway they are announced as baby ponies which of course is wrong. The quality of the cast is pretty good, while the colours are a bit sloppy at some of the borders, They are meant to be seen from the left side; on the right side they miss their cutie mark and Twilight also the mane stripes. Her mane is indeed what I like the least; it's way too thick between her ears and the the left and right side of the cast don't match in the part above her back; it also falls a bit odd and the stripes are inaccurate on her neck. Pinkie and Fluttershy both have their right eye covered; Pinkie's mane and tail differ from the show quite much, but themselves are the most beautiful of them in my opinion. Fluttershy's are very accurate, only her nose sticks in her mane by more than half which looks a bit odd. As I said, all in all they are very nice and of good quality; plus, Fluttershy's hair isn't Rainbow Dash's, so I guess it's still better than Blindbags. Good work, Burgerking! I don't always go to Burgerking, but when I do it's for the ponies.

    On the one hand, the mane six are shown, let's call it, symmetrically. We have the 2-2-2 relation of races, in my opinion we even have three pairings with contrary personality: Pinkie and Shy, Twi and Dashie, Rarity and AJ (best ships by the way). And each of them has a unique feature their element is dedicated to without which they would have been screwed up more than one time. On the other hand we have something more like a mane 6.5 when we include Spike, and when we think about it, even the elements aren't as perfectly balanced as you could assume - Honesty, Generosity, Laughter, Loyalty, Kindness are charater traits. Magic? Twilight was the main character from the very beginning. She got the diadem instead of another neclace. But she still can't replace the other characters, as we see in "Keep Calm and Flutter On" for example, which is one of many reasons I like that episode so much. She didn't really trust Fluttershy's methods and pretty likely would have casted a reforming-spell on Discord, which I doubt would have ended well. I think Twily actually was close to blow everything, and who knows if Discord would have been able to take over again. So I find it fair to say that there is just the right amount of balance to keep it from becoming one-sided.

    I tried the Rainbow Dash one while flying on a plane, but it kinda sucked because the machine was too loud Anyway during my holidays I found some time and eventhough I don't know if what's actually happening really is the intended thing yet, I got the feeling it's getting better or at least easier. I still use the Fluttershy file; I feel the hooves and changed legs and can imagine to walk on all four of them; I also feel the wings and can imagine to fly. That is while the file is playing and I concentrate on it. It fades away once I stand up and walk around. However, doing it before going to sleep fixes that, so I used to fall asleep as a cute yellow pegasus, which feels just awesome .

    Since I don't get the hub in germany I'm gonna watch the episodes in livestreams when they come out; then I get them from Youtube via mlp-fim.com. I would buy them as well but I don't use iTunes; anyway I'll maybe order DVDs someday. Watching on my PC while eating muffins if I have any.

    There's a rather large group of people which could finally quit telling other people which types of fanart they are allowed to like and which not. It can be so depressing to see bronies plainly hating other bronies for having different tastes. I mostly think of common grimdark works while writing this. On the other hand it would also help if another group of people would quit annoying others with exactly the things these don't like and/ or counter hate with hate... so yeah, missing the love and more important the tolerance sometimes. I think it's more a thing of how people behave in general and won't stop. But I still dare say this fandom is better than any other community you'll find, especially in this respect.

    Till now it's mostly drawing, playing LoL and enjoying various fan content. Well, in two hours I'm going on holidays . When I'm back, I want to start writing again after a two months break, likely some pony fanfics, too (which would be my first)... further, I need to read more. If I'm bored for some reason, there's a list of about 20 shows (both anime and cartoon) I could give a try. I'm afraid the summer semester will begin way too soon anyway...

    After some Fluttershy I did the Rainbow file again yesterday. and I think it was the best hypnosis yet; anyway still I'm not happy with the trance. The state I know and would call trance is one in which you completely loose orientation and body-awareness, like you couldn't tell if you're lying face-up or face-down or where you are (unless you think about it and remember). Like your body is sleeping while you are fully concious. It's been a while since I experienced that... I usually lie on the floor when listening to the files and it is a bit irritating to imagine standing of your hooves when your sense of balance tells you that your face is pointing upwards, so I'll keep on practice.

    I have to admit that I expected, well, more. I mean, I have no problem with Twilicorn... how it will be in the next season we'll see, but I'm quite optimistic they'll get it right. It's more the episode itself... I missed something like a plot point. Ok, Twilight happened to create a mess, then she fixed it... it could make an episode, but instead it's only the first half while the second mostly consists of might and magic, singing and grouphugging... and the transformation including explaination. I even liked the whole might and magic, singing and grouphugging and transformation stuff somehow; but for the storywriting I definetly am used to better from every other episode I could think of. I also didn't like that it began with an instant song... by the way, is it just me or may they have changed Twilight's singing voice? Sounded a bit strange to me. There were relatively many songs in this episode, but for a final I think it's ok. In my opinion it might have been better as a two-parter with more tension and more motivation about the transfromation, like a thread Twilight needed to increase her powers against... So as a resume, it was an episode, it wasn't the end of the world but not the highlight of FiM either. I'm fine with it. And I just loved how the first thing Twilight asked after being named a princess was: "Is there a book about being a princess I should read?" In this spirit, long live Princess Twilight!

    To be honest, I think it would suck a bit that we're so many. If it were a dozen or so, fine, but with the entire forum you most likely wouldn't get a chance to really get to know your favourite ponies... Rarity would admit it, as long as nopony causes a mess in her boutique. I'm not sure about AJ, I guess she'd be ok. Fluttershy would hide in Harry's cave as soon as she realizes what's going on, and I'd hope for her that no one would find her in the first days. But Dashie would definetely love to have such a big and adoring fanclub, and Pinkie would throw the biggest party ponyville ever saw, being so happy to have so many new friends. Twily would inform Celestia and try to find out what happened. If I got a chance to talk to her, that would be interesting; maybe I she could even teach me magic. I think we would be friends. After a while, Fluttershy would return (because Dashie pulls her all the way back to town), but everypony would've settled a bit until then and she hopefully would survive it without panic attacks. And I have a feeling that after she got used to the situation we would get along pretty well.

    This is something I've been working on for a month now, my one big pony-related creative project; some may have noticed it in my signature already, anyway I wanted to officially present my work in an own thread. It's a fancomic (completely SFW) in which Twilight tells about the time before the events of Friendship is Magic, when she was studying at the university of canterlot, featuring herself mostly among a bunch of original characters. The story will be a quite big one, I hardly scratched the surface of my concept until now.     There's this moment you realize bronies are just humans after all, with all the regular human flaws... it can get you to the floor quite rough. Being a fan of a show does not make one a better person. Anyhow, I still think bronies are the most sympathic, friendly, awsome community out there by far.

    I try to drive relaxed, be nice to other road users, be fuel efficient... anyhow, I mostly end up by not giving any thought to driving philosophy while desperately trying to find that dawn route... I'm said to have the orientation of a frying pan.

    Let me think... - The first of those was in the novel "My Friend Flicka", which I read when I was 7 or so. Ironically it's basically a story about the love between a boy and a pony . I hardly remember what actually happened... - The ending of the anime "Wolf's Rain": - The wonderful novel "Das Drachentor", which means "The Dragongate" in english, however, it's not been translated as far as I know. A shame! - My Little Dashie That's just what comes to my mind right now, I'm sure I could think about more.

    @@Millfox: So now that you've found it, would you mind sharing a link? Your description made me intertested... maybe I can learn something from that . Furthermore, I'm thinking about giving Dashie a try tonight (that's if I retain enough time). I want to have wings again!

    So that's it? A minty background pony? I'd never expected that. But you know what, I got no problem with it at all. Leading by 25 votes is a respectable number, but even if she'd won by hunderets of votes I wouldn't mind. Who am I to tell other what they should like? So congratulations to all those Lyra-Fans - be proud! I'm going to listen to this song right now now in honour of her victory:

    Tablets are most certainly not overrated, although it's true a tablet does neither make you a better artist nor changes the way the program you use work. It also depends on what you're planning to do, lots of things are better with a precise mouse (vectors, image manipulation...), but for actual digital drawing I think it's crucial. Though, you do need to know how your software and digital drawing in general works to create anything but pixelstew. However, what I would recommend is starting by drawing pencil on paper; you can always scan (or photograph) and use them as drafts, but the basics (like, for example, getting the proportions right) are fundamental for everything you might do later, and at least I find it easier to learn that way. If you think you're already confident enough with that to take the next step, I would go ahead and get the tablet, from everything I heard you can't really go wrong with wacom tablets.

    There are some pictures linked in the document at the copypasta part; apart from those this would be the classic. My try yesterday was... nice, but I think I'll stick with the normal file next time; it doesn't seem to really have that much of an effect to loop it, at least for me.

    I thought alot about this and finally came to a conclusion: - You can imagine to be a pony. I think many of us like to do so. - Watching the show we slowly get used to their world and completely adapt the idea of them being in their world what humans are in ours. - That way we unconsciously identify ourselves with them, so even if we don't intentionally imagine to be ponies, our unconsciousness does anyway. - Actually being a pony would imply that sex with other ponies was the most natural thing. - Since sexuality isn't a part of the show, this part of being a pony isn't necessarily adapted by everyone, but it can be, which makes those bronies find them indeed sexy. - In fact we aren't ponies, and comprehending why someone would find them sexy, or even being quite turned on by them, does not need to mean you would want to have sex with ponies (although it can). That's how I would explain the matter. Oh and the messed up kinds of r34 pictures are just things human sexuality does sometimes, wether ponies are involved or not. By saying pony I always mean the ones from the show, regardless, I could use an explaination similar to this for any real animal, too, for example cats, to return to that ancient first post of this thread. Cats are sexy! Ever since I read the novel Felidae I know that. But human-cat-intercourse, hell no, that's just disgusting.

    @~Discordian Paradox~: If I understood him right it's a work in progress that Bababa's currently up to and thus not available yet. Waiting for someone to make Octavia, too , although I got more than enough files to try. As soon as I got more time (if it ever happens) I might try writing some scripts myself, and she'd be one of them... either way I'm way from that right now in terms of experience. Edit: Yeah, what he said, didn't see there was a new post.
