TheMarkz0ne 962 February 6, 2013 Share February 6, 2013 (edited) We hardly see luna. But when I see her in an epsiode next to Celestia it seems like she is jealous of her sister's power. Also not completely over being defeated by Twilight Sparkle and the mane 6. I know she isn't nightmare moon anymore. But do you guys think she is still not over what happened in the first two episodes Als does anyone find it weird tht she wsn't there in the canterlot wedding episode. I mean we seen her use the telescope at night. But where was she when Chrysalis revealed herself. Luna can be around during day time. So what's the deal? Rainbow Dash 1,472 February 6, 2013 Share February 6, 2013 I think after the second episode her jealousy resided. I do think however that she harbors a tiny amount of resentment. Having the Evil purged from her by the elements of harmony she saw the error of her ways. I think by season 2 she was over the whole thing.as for where she was during the whole Changeling thing i have a theory that she was sleeping to recharge her powers so i it carried into the night she would be at full strength. Or it could be that she was confident of Celestia's and the Mane 6's powere so she didnt feel like she was needed. Or she could be Lazy. i mean she is the younger sister after all and we all know younger siblings are lazy as all get out. R.I.P. Stalliongrad 982 February 6, 2013 Share February 6, 2013 Well I don't think she is jealous of Celestia's power more so that people recognize her sister more than her. I would think that if she has the power to come into ponies dreams and help them get rid of nightmares then she should certainly be popular with the fillies. I think that Luna is content with how people see her now. Her jealously through everything out of balance which is why... unless the moon seems preferable she really has no other choice but to be content with being co-princess. ~Signature Awesomely Made By Frozen Mint~ http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/crimson-star-r1439
silvadel 1,393 February 6, 2013 Share February 6, 2013 Jealous, HA. What does Luna have to be jealous about? Celestia gets to do 85% of the paperwork and can't even put a changeling queen down, 1 Silvadel, the Pegasus of Insight.
Scootalove 10,689 February 6, 2013 Share February 6, 2013 Luna is not jealous of Celestia. They both are Princesses that run Equestria as a whole. Plus, when Luna was defeated by the Mane 6 with the Elements of Harmony she saw her errors. She represses her evil, but she is like half evil half good to me. Harmonic Revelations 8,835 February 6, 2013 Share February 6, 2013 I think it's more sisterly dispute rather than actual jealousy. Her jealousy seemed to subside after a while, now it's just down to playful sibling rivalry.
Metemponychosis 1,261 February 7, 2013 Share February 7, 2013 (edited) I may be deluding myself, but I don't see her as jealous or something towards Celestia. Not anymore at least. But the show doesn't say much. <shrug> My way of seeing this is that the writers simply didn't think of her then writing the episodes. EDIT: this is the reason I want an episode centered on their daily lives. Just so that we can see them running the country and perhaps a little special scene or two showing them raising/lowering the sun/moon. Veylon 255 February 7, 2013 Share February 7, 2013 My head-canon is that Luna isn't a people person. So she doesn't like schmoozing, doesn't like big social events, likes to do her paperwork alone in her rooms where she can concentrate, and prefers her parties low-key, casual, and small. It's why she puts on the whole super-formal pose in public; she needs to keep the hordes at bay in order to keep them from draining her life force. If you're an introvert you know what I mean. So while she could've been at the wedding, she'd rather not and would've readily embraced any excuse to avoid attending. And I don't know why everyone keeps going on about the Changeling thing; it was all over within maybe ten minutes of starting. We can also see that Luna apparently lives outside Canterlot, as she had to fly through the bubble to take up night watch. She may not have necessarily been easy to track down and tell her that there was something afoot.
poniesforfun 716 February 8, 2013 Share February 8, 2013 (edited) She probably is still jealous and I have no doubt she is repressing her feelings on the matter I mean who likes to be the second favorite? But now Luna is trying to work on winning the adoration of others as seen in Luna Eclipsed and now realizes she can be loved in a certain way. silvadel 1,393 February 8, 2013 Share February 8, 2013 Not exactly a people person are you Marty? That is what this reminds me of with regard to Luna. Down Periscope. 'Do you come with a volume control there?' was also used for him. Silvadel, the Pegasus of Insight.
hawkflame 3,310 February 8, 2013 Share February 8, 2013 Honestly, I don't really see the jealousy because there's not a whole lot to go on when it comes to her relationship with Celestia. I mean, we have the ending of season 1 episode 2 and the beginning of the season 3 premiere. In S3E1 she came off as more guarded and pessimistic, but I just think that being a slightly more jaded pony is just part of her personality. Any slight friction between them may just stem from their sibling relationship and nothing more. Sig by Thunderstorm Check out my Rarity fansite!
