Apple Dooms ears twitched with excitement. "Do you really think so?" Apple Doom to the plank of wood Hunter passed to him and patched the last hole. The cart was near working condition, and the only thing left to fix was the bent wheel axle. He continued to talk to Hunter while he worked. " I think we are all set with this cart. Just need some pony strong enough to hoist this up while i fix the wheel axle. How far out did Chetnik and Aurea go?"

Aurea came streaking over the horizon, landing rather roughly on the ground near the cart.

"Ack buck it all" she swore as she got a mouth full of dirt, but quickly righted herself with a shake of her head. Her wings momentarily flaredwhen she saw Apple Doom, but she quickly forced them down and turned to hunter "We found him, and holy horsefeathers is he in a state but he is alive and currently walking his ass over here, that's one tough mule there. Chetnik is currently keeping an eye on him, they should be here within about half an hour or so, I came back to share the news".

 

With her message delivered she walked over to apple doom and dragged him away from his cart long enough to check him over.

"How are you feeling? Let me know if you start to feel woozy or anything, a concussion could be bad news. Drink plenty of water and don't go near the booze or whatever you were drinking last night for a little while ok?"

Apple Doom was a little relieved at the news. he was engrossed with his carts wheel that he almost didn't notice Aurea was the one who delivered the news. He was then dragged away by her.

"Don't go near what now?" He said as he hid his empty jug nonchalantly. "Apart from not remembering what exactly went down I'm fine. All i need is hard work to get the body up to health again." He said as looked over Aurea. Apple Doom then hung his head in shame. "Sorry...if I..did anything stupid."

She frowned "you should be, what the hell were you doing!"

She turned away, her wings folded over herself protectively

"What was I gonna do if you had got seriously hurt? What would I do if you couldn't kiss me like that again?"

She turned back towards him, wings flaring up, waiting for a response.

"I'm sorry, i don't remember what exactly i did. I was told that i ran into the tornado. My guess is that i was-" He stopped as his head started to feel pain. He hid the pain and continued, "What i did was stupid and selfish, I hate myself for making you worry like you did." He dug at the ground a little as he awaited to get chewed out.

She turned and bopped him lightly on the muzzle with her tail

"Don't do it again"

She turned back and grabbed him, kissing him lightly

"You are a fool, you are also very cute when apologizing, I might have to make up transgressions just to see that face again"

She curled a wing around him protectively

"agh, how much farther?"  Winter asked Chetnik, but the question was soon enough answered because the band of ponies appeared as they trudged over a small hill.  "This (gasp) should be (gasp) close enouuuuuu..." Winter collapsed mid-stride.  His eyes rolled back into his head, foam appeared at his lips, and the entire moment became a blur for him as he began to seize.

Apple Doom felt her tail across his muzzle. So soft, He thought as he was grabbed for a kiss. "don't worry, i will ask you the next time im about to do something stupid. At least i have one redeeming quality about me " He said jokingly as he felt her wing on him. "Don't worry, I will leave that to those who are qualified."

"NOON! WE MADE IT!" he yelled as he saw his friends in the trashed campsite.

 

He then brohoofed the relieved pony and said: "See? I told you not to lose hope!"

 

Chetnik saw the ripped mess that were once his prized books and thought "Why does this always happen to us?"

 

Hunter trotted near him. "I really got to look out for you more often, so if this kind of crap happens, we'll be able to deal with it."

Noon breathes sigh of relief when Chenil arrived, but looked behind him to see that Winter was lying on his stomach a few yards back, what seemed like bubbly saliva flowing from his mouth. "Winter!" She yelled, galloping to his location as he twitched violently in front of her. "What's wrong with him?" Noon yelled back to Chetnik, tears forming in her eyes as her injured boyfriend had siezure and she was completely unable to help.

Chetnik rushed to the aid of Winter. He pulled out his tongue, which he started choking on, yelling repeatedly:

 

"YOU AIN'T CHOKING ON MY WATCH, MOTHERBUCKER"

 

After a while, Winter got to himself, confused but fine.

 

"It's ok" Chet explained to the confused-looking Winter "just sleep" He did just that.

 

After that incident, Chetnik consulted the worried and scared Noon, who was waiting for info on her boyfriend.

 

"He's fine now, just keep an eye out for a second seizure, he's asleep now."

Noon sighed, nearly having a heart attack after the recent events. "Oh, thank you." She said, relief visibly pouring out of her. Noon bent her neck to see the now slumbering figure of Winter, one of his legs bent at a mysterious angle and bruises covering his body. "Why did this have to happen to us? To him?" She said, her eyes watering as she turned her head back to Chetnik.

"if I ever find the pegasi that messed up their job and nearly killed us all...."

"We are near enough the whispering sands that occasionally weather will just, form, on its own, however weird that sounds."

 

At this point Aurea began to take stock of her remaining belongings. Her medical supplies were intact, as was her violin and bow but she has lost most of her spare strings and various other items were missing, but nothing hugely important to her.

 

"We should probably try to head for the nearest town, Winter needs proper medical care, as may AD."

Apple Doom looked over to see three familiar ponies. He pulled himself away from his work long enough to see how they were doing. He saw an injured Winter who appeared to be unconscious. Did he fall or was he in a fight? Oh wait, there was a Tornado that struck here. Apple Doom thought to himself as he observed the interactions between the three ponies.

Apple Doom shook his head as he grabbed a canteen full of special cider that had the label XXX distilled cider written on it. He then pulled out his map and showed it to the three. "I'm afraid the next town that is nearest to us is on the other side of the plains. That will take us another 2 days to reach. And thats being generous, seeing as how my wagon is still decommissioned, and the tornado looks like it did some damage to the trail i was hoping to take. I would suggest putting the poor soul on the back of my wagon." Apple Doom explained to the group. He figured the weather conditions might get worse once they get closer to the other side.

The pony that he loved breathing next to him woke up the radical Serbian in Chetnik. He proposed a few rules:

 

"Alright guys, if we want to stay alive during our trip, we're gonna have to set up some kind of rule system. Here's my proposal"

 

1. A pegasus will patrol the skies 15-20 meters from the rest of the pack

 

2. There will be a medic pony in case of accidents

 

3. There will be max 2 ponies in the cart at a time when it gets recommissioned, and all ponies will take turns pulling it.

The White stallion eased into consciousness and was surprised to see Noon nearby, last thing he remembered was walking back with Chetnik, he was oblivious to anything that happened during his seizure.  Winter was about to ask his partner what happened, but was interrupted by Chet's set of rules, "Sounds good to me!" The newly rested pony called out, "but one question, who will be the medic pony?" (Keep in mind, Winter was unconscious for Aurea's multiple diagnosis.)

Winter stood again, nauseas but sure-footed, and limped over to Appledoom.  "Hey, ahem, do you mind if I take swig?  A little homemade painkiller would hit the spot right about now."

Apple Doom was a little surprised to see the pony stand. "Sure thing friend. Just go easy on it. Some ponies can handle it and some cannot." He said as he passed the canteen over to Winter.

Apple Doom felt uncomfortable thinking about the Mares doing work. "Eh, I don't know if your first and last suggestions are sound. I'm not sure if we need a Pegasus flying above all the time." He said as he stepped a little closer to Chetnik "I dont want the ladies straining themselves." He whispered to him. He then looked out towards the horizon. I want to get moving pretty soon in case we come across any bandits. He thought as he gasped a little."On second thought, A pegasi above head would be a wise idea now that i think it over."

"Thanks Appledoom," Winter exclaimed as he prepared to drink some of the hard elixir.  He's never really had much alcohol before but under the circumstances it sounded pretty good.  As he swallowed decent amount, the effect hit him instantly.  His aches dulled and his nausea slipped into a light dizziness that almost made him feel like laughing.  Before he knew it, the canteen was half empty.  "Still you seem to amaze me bro, you cook and you brew!  once again, hehehe, I need the recipe."

 

(I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it, I'm about to lose control and I think I like it!)

Apple Doom grabbed the canteen and shook it a little. "Eh, i hope you can handle this." He said as he handed the canteen back. I sure hope i dont get in trouble for this. This pony needs it though; I ain't a doctor or anything. He thought to himself. He then looked back at his cart and sighed heavily. I want to ask Chetnik to help me fix the cart but it seems he might be busy at the moment. He turned back and started walking towards his cart. "I'm going to go back to the repairs on the cart and then we can move out." He said

 

Apple Doom then got underneath his cart and used his hind legs to lift the cart. It moved off the ground just enough for him to remove the broken piece. He then slowly put the cart down slowly. The effort took a lot out of him as he began to feel faint. He fixed the broken axle and tried to raise the cart again with no results. He grunted and moaned loudly and tried to pass it off the noises as a joke. NO! I can't be this weak! He thought.

Noon, distracted by Apple Doom's speach, turned her head to let her eyes meet a awakened Winter. "You're awake!" She exclaimed, rushing up to him to hug him tightly. "Thank Celestia." Noon nearly burst into tears, but tried her best to hold them back.

 

(OOC: Super sorry about my inactivity guys. Lots of stuff going on with my life as of late. I should be a lot more active tonight and over the weekend.)

Winter grunted as Noon embraced him, and the pain was much less present either do to the cider or Noon's love.  The stallion decided it was the latter.  "Yes I'm awake, and its great to see you again too, " A look of concern crossed Winter's face, "You're fine right?  The tornado left you unscathed?  I don't know if I could bear seeing you hurt."
