*Post-S3* Favorite Episode of Season 3

The finale was my favorite episode of this season. Mostly because the best pony got her own song, which is incredibly epic. But also because of the stunning 3D (Seriously, that scene with Twilight and the window), and original plot.

Either Magic Duel, Keep Calm and Flutter On, Sleepless in Ponyville or Spike At Your Service. IF Season 3 had a Rarity episode, it undoubtly would've been my favorite, but since we didn't get a Rarity episode, I'm torn between the four episodes that featured Rarity most prominently (or had the best Rarity moments).

1. Wonderbolts Academy - Great characterization for Rainbow Dash, and gets her closer to fulfilling her dream.

2. Keep Calm and Flutter On - Discord episode. 'nuff said.

3. Magic Duel - Return of Trixie, and great comic effect during the duels.

4. Sleepless in Ponyville - Expands on Scootaloo's relationship with Rainbow Dash.

Currently one of my favourite episodes so far I really enjoyed the musical aspect of it.

Also the news that it's the first of a three part story arc does intrigue me.

 

Sleepless in Ponyville

As quite a few others have said, this episode is great for the character development therein.

Also a more than pointless appearance of Luna is always a nice touch in my book, along with the Headless Horse making a return:

 

 

 

 

One Bad Apple

I don't know my top 5, but my favorite was One Bad Apple. You can never go wrong with a Cutie Mark Crusaders episode, and the song was amazing.

Trying to decide which episode is the best of the season is difficult for me, but for perhaps an unusual reason. As I consider the episodes, I can't help dwelling on the BAD parts - that is, the illogical, cringe-worthy, awkward, and/or unfunny parts - and how they detracted from enjoyment of the episodes. However, these bad parts are present in every episode to one extent or another, so I guess the "best" episode for me might be the episode that left a positive overall impression while not having TOO many of those bad moments.

 

Using that method of judgment, the best episode to me seemed to be "Sleepless In Ponyville." This episode may not have had the fewest of these bad moments, but I daresay they might have detracted from the episode the least, and some of them were even kind of funny to poke fun at. The two big developments of the episode - Luna's dream-walking ability and the blossoming of Rainbow Dash's and Scootaloo's relationship - left some doubts and concerns in my mind, but they were interesting and (the latter in particular) emotionally engaging. Hopefully these two developments will be expanded and explained further next season.

Oooh, old topic. My favorite episode is Magical Mystery Cure. The song A True, True Friend always makes me very emotional and I cry happy tears. Whenever I feel lonely or sad or have a bad day, I can listen to this song and I will feel better. And I know they ponies will always be there in my heart and soul. (Hence my name, haha.) To me, this is the friendship song and one of my favorites as well. It's a rushed episode, there was no good build up, but the last 10 minutes are still very beautiful and powerful.

It was a short, but good season. From all episodes so far, One Bad Apple is my least favorite one. Every other episode, and besides the last one, is equally good in my opinion. The first two seasons always had at least one episode where I was throughout like: "WOW, that was absolutely amazing!" This is something I didn't feel here, not even in the Pinkie Pie episode, Too Many Pinkie Pies. But it's not necessarily a bad thing, because the episodes weren't bad either. Something I like about FiM, is, that every single episode offers at least 1 or 2 unique moments, something memorable, funny, emotional. There is nothing I truly hate about it. FiM is simply amazing!

I gotta say Sleepless in Ponyville. Easily some of the best character development the series has ever had, especially for a non-Mane 6 character, and the bond between Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash just works extremely well. The end result is just a really wholesome episode with great character development and interaction, plus some funny moments throughout.

Oooh okay haven't seen S3 in ages, but I really like Magical Mystery Cure, Keep Calm and Flutter On, and Sleepless in Ponyville.

Yeah there's not many episodes I enjoyed in that season, cause of it being so short. :p

Definitely do not feel like the only one who always thought Magic Duel was overrated looking at the current state of the poll, wow. At the time Season 3 was new, my favorite episode from the season was Keep Calm and Flutter On, and while I still think it's a good episode, I don't feel it's my favorite anymore. I think I actually like Magical Mystery Cure the best out of the Season 3 episodes, crazy to see now that it's currently second place in the poll after all the controversy surrounding it back in the day.
