gaming Dead Space 3

So with the recent release of Dead Space 3, I wanted to ask anybody who's played them what they've done with your weapons in this game and the past ones. I'd also like to what Suit you were most in each game.

So, for me, In Dead Space 1 I used to always carry the Pulse Rifle, Contact Beam, Plasma Cutter and the last weapon would usually be a Line Gun or Flamethrower. My favourite suit in this game, was the Military suit you get after New Game+.

Dead Space 2 was sort of the same. I carried the Pulse Rifle, Seeker Rifle, Flamethrow and the Javelin Gun. My favourite suit in that game was either the Riot Security Suit, or the Arctic Security suit.

My choices for guns were drastically toned down in DS3, since you're only able to carry two. In that one, I usually have a Javelin Gun and a gun that was called the 'Show Stopper'. My favourite suit, so far, is still the Elite Suit.

Ah yes, DS3 was excellent.

I ran DS1 with the Plasma Cutter, Pulse Rifle, and Line Gun the majority of the time. Good times.

In DS2, I always ran with at least the Pulse Rifle and Seeker Rifle, and the Plasma Cutter at times. Loved the ass-kick of the Seeker Rifle, fun to use against charging Stalkers.

In DS3, I used a Repeater with a Shotgun underneath, it worked perfectly for me. I also had a Precision Tip on top with a Torus Diffractor on the bottom to help me if I was surrounded. Both weapons were a great combination, especially using the shotgun or precision tip against Stalkers, one of the cleverest (and deadliest if you aren't careful) enemies in the game.

Seeker Rifle was easily my 2nd favourite gun in DS2. I used it regardless if I was against Stalkers or not.

My top favourite gun, though, has to be the Javelin Gun. That shit is amazing when fully upgraded.

I could never get used to the javelin gun, though it was awesome near the end of the game, if you know what I mean.

Imagine getting a piercing from something like that.

I can just imagine, yeah.

If you have the fully upgraded version of the gun in the final battle with Nicole, you can pretty much take her and the Heart of the Marker out with maybe 2-3 shots.

Normally I'd use the Pulse Rifle on Nicole and the kiddie necros, then use the Seeker Rifle on the Marker Heart, goes by pretty quickly for me.

DS1: For impossible difficulty, I'm a purist usually. Plasma Cutter is always my primary. Sometimes I'll whip out the old Line Gun though.

DS2: For Hardcore mode, again, the Plasma Cutter can do no wrong. The ripper is pretty awesome too, at least until you get the force gun at the beginning of chapter 7.

In DS3 I like using a heavy elite frame, ripper core and shock module. It looks really neat when you fire the secondary. I'm also fond of a military engine with a spread fire assault rifle on top and a conic disperal on the bottom. It's about time the franchise got an actual shotgun.

Sold my 360 about 2 years ago. Last game I played on it before I sold it was Dead Space 2. The Dead Space games, one I don't put above another, are the best video games I have EVER played. Got my Isaac Clarke figure sitting next to my computer.

ANYWAYS...

I am jelly of you guys playing Dead Space 3. I hope it has lived up to expectations or perhaps surpassed them.

For both preceding games, the Plasma Cutter was without a doubt the best and always my primary. The was the first thing next to my suit I focused my nodes on. This proved excellent strategy. The Pulse Rifle is a very good secondary, as it is suited for room clearing. The line gun I tended to have as third since it is a beefy version of the plasma cutter.

I used every weapon at one point or another, but when it comes down to it the bare essentials/non-exotics get you through the necromorph hell.

Have fun with 3!

That works just as well, too. I usually use the Javelin gun as my main, so I really never tried to experiment more with the other stuff in that battle. I actually beat Zealot mode pretty easily using the Javelin, and when i attempt to do a hard core run I'll probably keep it by my side.

3 lives up to some of what I hoped it would be. It's great and all, but it sort of doesn't feel the same as the last two. It's wondrous, yes, but the amount of action and quick-time events takes up a lot of room, and there's little to no room for the eerie feeling i used to get.

The older dead spaces took place in the middle of space, in tight, dark corridors that held death and despair at every corner. There's very little of that in DS3, and it doesn't have the same claustrophobic feeling I used to get when playing DS1.

I've had DS1 on ps3 with 100% completion. Mostly ran with the pulse rifle and plasma cutter. Just had the regular upgraded suit most of the time.

DS2 was just as fun. Also 100% completion. Ran the javelin gun, plasma cutter, pulse rifle and the hand cannon. xD For suits, I just used the advanced elite suit.

DS3 was amazing as well. Not yet 100% completed but I'm getting there. My favorite gun mash-up is the shotgun with the force gun combo. My favorite suit in there is the witness suit. Blue with graffiti just looks cool.

Just another background cat. Move along.

This weekend I tried a new suit, the Elite Suit makes me feel like Sam Fisher with the Night Vision Goggles, I like it.

It would be nice if suit customization was more diverse, like choose different helmet attachments, different visors, and more upgradable slots too. The amount of customization things for the suits in this game was too damn low.

It sucks that this is supposed to be the last dead space game. If they ever make a new one, I really hope they add armour customization. It'd be perfect along with weapon customization.

So... Anyone try out the Dead Space 3: Awakened DLC yet? I have and there are things to be said of it, just want to see what anyone thinks.

If it wasn't any more obvious, it was just EA being the same cheap bastards again, mostly retextured levels with the only additions being candles, Unitologist Script, and a few shrines. Not to mention that it seems like a cheap and crappy way to wrap up the entire Dead Space series if it really is scrapped (only rumors). I'm actually glad EA is finished with Dead Space (also the main Mass Effect Trilogy) since I won't be purchasing any future EA products (which were few to begin with). Dead Space Awakened was that final push I guess. It's kind of sad.
