Hm...

Alright, in my opinion I think this is a possible ending to her alicorn-ness..

Twilight will be so obsessed with being an alicorn, and start showing off. One by one she will start to ignore her friends, her friends will start to tell her more and more how she's changing. Twilight won't notice until one day, when she actually needs her friends they wont be there for her.. She will go to Celestia and ask her to change her back somehow... She will go back to pony vill and apologize for what she did, They will notice she is no longer alicorn, and she show will go back to "normal"

What do you guys think will happen?

I personally hope that doesn't happen. Sure, they could delve into the moral of it, but in terms of changing her back, that would be a bit cheap in my opinion. To me, that is a huge cliché. A character becomes royal or something like it, so they automatically change for the worse. I want to see the writers pull off character advancement.

In terms of what will happen, I have no clue. There really is no way to tell.

So kind of a Mare Do Well episode for Twilight? A bit out of character in my opinion. I think that if anything will make her normal again, it will be the status and responsibilities of being a princess getting in the way of what actually made her one. Her friendships. Kind of up in the air whether that will happen even, but I think that is more likely than Twilight's power getting to her head like this.

Changing her back as abruptly as they changed her in the first place would be incredibly lazy writing and lazy writing cannot be solved with more lazy writing. I think Alicorn Twilight will go down in two possible ways Twilight Sparkle becomes unjustifiably overpowered too quickly making her a Mary Sue therefore ruining a good character. Or the writers take this premise as premature as it is take advantage of the positive opportunities it presents and try to smooth over the abrupt nature of it with a decent explanation storywise for why the transformation was so abrupt. I sincerely hope the latter happens rather than the former.

Something tells me that the creative team will do what they can to use this for the better.  Hasbro made them turn her alicorn, and though it messed up what plans they did have for FIM, they are smart, creative, and open enough to not let such a beloved show go to waste.

I am not sure what I think of Alicorn Twilight at this point, but it does go against what convential wisdom has been established in FIM universe (i.e. Cadence was born an alicorn and did not "become" one) and I am not okay with that, plus I am not happy that Hasbro is trying to make FIM something it is not (a giant commercial for little girls) by making Twilight an alicorn (it was a marketing ploy, not a plot device for the show)....

I dont see that happening. I think her friends and everypony will start treating her differently and Twilight will just want to be treated like everypony else.

I dont think she would start showing off as that would be out of character for Twilight, since she is against boating an example of this would be the episode "Boast Busters"

I guess I just want to trust the creative team that gave birth to this series...and for those that want to keep with it, have really no other choice but to trust they'll do something to better the circumstance Twilight is now in...

I don't really mind Twilicorn, but I don't think power would to her head. I think she might have to give up her wings for somepony else's sake if it is going to happen. But thik of all the new things she can do with new episodes with new princess duties!

trying to make FIM something it is not (a giant commercial for little girls)

That's exactly what FiM is, actually. Anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.

Anywho, I honestly think that Twilicorn needs to stay, and that such a quick and lazy move would be idiotic.

Showing off and becoming headstrong is literally the 100% opposite of Twilight Sparkle. The only way I could see that happening is if she were corrupted (which would actually make a good episode).

On another note, on the subject of people complaining about turning her back: If done right, that could just as well executed as some feel her ascension to Alicorn was. It doesn't have to be lazy writing, but it could be an epic fall from glory.

Either way, whatever happens to Twilight, I really do hope that whatever the first two episodes of S4 bring ("parts" 2 and 3 of the finale), it will be an epic struggle that will test the new Twilight, and not just some "pretty pink princess" fantasy. Plus they'd better keep her adorkable. ;)

I think it'd maybe be cool if she tried to be too controlling.  Like, she'd make really strict laws to prevent disorder.  Things would become more peaceful and orderly, but then when she'd talk to the ponies, she'd learn that they're unhappy.  The moral would be that people are more happy when they learn what the right thing to do is for themselves rather than having it forced upon them.

I see one of 2 things happening. One the power will go to her head and two she will be treated differently. I can see one of those ideas working.

Your idea is good, but I feel there is one problem with it and thats the conflict that comes up. If a conflict does comes up, she may need her friends help, but she would still need to be an alicorn. Still it's an idea.

Why would she have this abrupt change in her basic personality? In Trixie's first appearance, she was so worried that her friends would think she was showing off, that she let Trixie pretty much think she was a coward by claiming she needed to do her laundry and running away. I really don't understand why everyone is so desperately trying to come up with scenarios to negate her becoming a Princess. Frankly, I love the idea. I suspect the lion's share of the intended viewing demographic does too. Face it, little girls LOVE princesses! I hardly think that Hasbro and The HUB will disappoint millions of their core viewers, just because a couple thousand fringe fans are raging against Twilight being a princess. Sorry if that offends, but it's how i feel.
